Here ye may give feedback, ideas and suggestions to your new Aliit'alor, who will then proceed to do his best to please everybody in a very Mandalorian fashion. But seriously, let me know how you guys think I'm doing. I aim to be the best clan leader I can, and I need to hear the bad parts for that to happen. Similarly, this is also where you can help change things for the better in the clan. Etc. etc. and so on and so forth.

Don't mind me. Just slowly converting and consuming your clan and replacing everything with my ideals.. *Bralor taint*

Yea! Clan Fett for Fetts! *Shakes fist in the air*

Just kidding. I'll listen to ideas and suggestions from non-Fetts as well. Just not as much. :CSly

I'm considering starting some kind of sanctioned mercenary operation for Clan Fett. it would be different from individual Fetts accepting mercenary contracts in that this would be sanctioned from the aliit'alor himself. This would take the form of Clan Fett's alor accepting mercenary missions from other parties, and then handpicking a team of Fett operatives, to carry it out. It would give Clan Fett a second nature besides (first and foremost, naturally) being a Mandalorian clan, in that they would also become quite possibly the largest and deadliest private military company in the galaxy. Thoughts about this?

Edit to add: Nevermind; The Fett Company is now instituted, though I'll probably be reorganizing the concept a bit in the future. For further information, scroll to the bottom of this thread.

Well, I'm all for the Fett Company taking on mercenary contracts, as long as you have those contracts okayed by Mand'alor.

I don't suddenly want to see the Fetts fighting for our enemies, taking missions that would hurt the Mandalorians, supporting slavery or some such.

Yeah, I spent some time contemplating that factor of its existence as well. Needless to say, though, that sort of contract won't be accepted. That's why all contracts will go through Verus, and I in turn will OK them with you before accepting them.

For now I'm looking into a possible working relationship with the Ona'bak Retrade, though I'm not sure what their stance is on slavery so that might be a no-go...

Edit to add: Of course, any opinions, thoughts and suggestions from everyone interested, is naturally welcome. :D

Sub-clans do exist. ;) They're listed in the Roster. Though none of them have any members right now...

Edit to add: And naturally they too are allowed to work in the Fett Company. Duh. I was on a real dimwit streak yesterday...

I feel that it's because it's a very unused concept. People see Clans Fett, Bralor and Ordo and not the Minor Clans. They don't have the same weight, or so they think. I know that there's Vencu and Brevin, etc. But other than those...not many people sign up.

Yeah, I hear ya. Personally I of course prefer to see people join Clan Fett rather than the smaller clans, but I'm not so cheap that I'll actively work against small clans either - on the contrary. I just don't know how to make more people interested in the minor clans, though...

Maybe if we whip up a short summary of each of the minor clans under Fett - like the descriptions of each of the major clans, but for our minor clans...?

Make the clans distinct. Give someone a reason to want to join a minor clan rather than the big-name clan.

Yeah, that's what I thought too. Right now all people see is three Clan names, and if they think those sound cool, they might take the names and clan, but that's all. It's hardly an incentive to join said clan.

I'm going to see if I can whip up anything for each of the clans though, even if it's just a paragraph about each one. Any ideas you guys have for them, just throw it up here. :D

Having a write-up for each minor clan is a great idea. A little history and depth is just what they need. All people see now are names and maybe a brief description of what a minor clan specializes in, but it always ends there.

The minor clans, even those without active members, do serve a purpose. They bolster a major clan's ranks and more importantly, serve as individual military units during combat operations.

Think of it this way... a major clan is a military division or brigade. The minor clans under its banner are individual battalions and companies. It only operates that way during combat operations to ensure organization. Any other time the minor clans are seen as extended family of the major clan. It works this way because we don't have a strict rank structure or unit structure. Our major clan leaders are akin to generals and our minor clan leaders have the authority of a captain, major, or lieutenant colonel depending on their size and role.

Make sense?

Also, could Clan Marren replace Beviin? Beviin seems to be adding nothing at all :P

Vencu; Thanks for the clarification. I suspected it would be something like that, so I'm glad I didn't do what I originally wanted and removed one or two of them.

Ender; Sure! Though I think what I'll do is (because I really HATE the name), replace Clan L'Aan with Clan Beviin, and let Clan Marren take Clan Beviin's former place.

I've written up short summaries of three of the clans, but I'll edit them a bit and throw in some history for each before upping them in the official info thread. If you can whip something similar up for Clan Marren, that'd be great, Ender. Also mention what kind of forces they supply in times of war. :CSly

Here's what I've got so far, anyways;

Clan Kebiin
Clan Kebiin, one of the minor clans under Clan Fett, was until recently based on Tatooine. Upon the Mandalorian return to Mandalore, Clan Kebiin made their new home on Concord Dawn. The clan's responsibilities towards Clan Fett involve supplying it with their highly trained snipers, elite light cavalry, and skilled scouts, in times of war.
Kebiin has always been an important ally and valued part of Clan Fett's ground warfare capability, due to the clan's rugged and adaptable soldiers. In times of war, Kebiin soldiers often make up the spearhead of Fett military operations. Aside from special forces units, that means, they are often the first to enter a battlefield leading offensive operations with their fast and light cavalry forces.

Clan Varad
While other Mandalorian clans are often either versatile, or strong in ground forces, Clan Varad has put a lot of focus on developing technology related to, and train highly skilled pilots and starship crews. Indeed, Clan Varad is known to hold some of the finest pilots within the Mandalorian people, and their ships often leading the way in cutting-edge Mandalorian war ship technology.
However, Clan Varad is not just technologically focused when it comes to war. They also supply an army of highly versatile Mandalorian marines trained for aggressive combat operations in every type of terrain from swamps and jungles to deserts and even on water. They are, however, best known for their highly refined space warfare training. When it comes to ship-to-ship warfare, there are no finer soldiers than the marines of Clan Varad.

Clan L'Aan
Clan L'Aan is one of the smaller of Clan Fett's minor allied clans. Because of its lack of size, Clan L'Aan has been forced to focus their military forces on one thing above everything else; Discipline. Because of this and extremely gruelling combat training, Clan L'Aan has developed some of the deadliest special forces in Mandalorian space, and has greatly helped refine and modernize Mandalorian special ops techniques.
The Clan also trains a large amount of elite "Drop Forces", storm troopers trained to be the spearhead in planetary invasions (because they are "dropped" onto the planet from space). Their training is tough, and the survival rate low enough to give even the most hardened of Mandalorians pause for thought - considering the low numbers of Clan L'Aan, a true testiment to the discipline and loyalty of its soldiers.

Clan Marren
Led By: Jaze Mellern
Supplies: Shock Infantry, Heavy armor and artillery
Roster: Elliot Marren

Clan Marren upholds that which the galaxy fears in the Mandalorians. Strength, honor and the proper application of bruthe force. Since the dawn of the modern Mandalorians, Clan Marren has supplied fierce Shock Troops to the fight through which such famed Mandalorians have arisen such as Kandosii Marren or disgraced Mandalore Danielle Marren. Also included in their forces is their Heavy Armored unit and their artillery. Together, the clan makes a potent mix of infantry, armor and artillery allowing them to undertake most missions with only the application of air forces.

I'll be updating the Information thread with the new Clan write-ups soon. That one looks good, but could you, or would you mind if I did, write a little bit more? I'm thinking each clan should have at least two paragraphs of information about them. :CScool

This is what the others look like now, which is pretty much the final product.

Clan Kebiin
Clan Kebiin was formed several hundred years ago by a Mandalorian named Soros Kebiin, a lawman on Concord Dawn, where many of its members served as security forces. These original members of the clan became known as great marksmen and scouts because they often worked in the most remote and hostile regions of the planet, and for long periods of up to several weeks at a time. They also protected the farmers of the planet as border guards, safeguarding the borders from raiders and the predators of the wildlife, by maintaining constantly manned sniper positions in the mountains.

In time, this led them to developing and refining sniper techniques that to this day still leaves its mark on the clan. Because even to this day, Clan Kebiin is said to produce some of the finest snipers of the galaxy. In modern days, upon the Mandalorian return to Mandalore, Clan Kebiin once again returned to their ancestral home on Concord Dawn, where they are currently based in and around the major Mando settlement of Bonxa. The clan's responsibilities towards their brothers in Clan Fett today involve supplying the clan with their highly trained snipers, elite light cavalry, and skilled scouts in times of war.

Kebiin has always been an important ally and valued part of Clan Fett's ground warfare capability, due to the clan's rugged and adaptable soldiers. When war strikes the Mandalorians, Kebiin soldiers often make up the spearhead of Fett military operations. That means that aside from special forces units, Clan Kebiin soldiers are often the first to enter a battlefield leading offensive operations with their fast and light cavalry forces.

In times of peace, many Clan Kebiin members serve as lawmen, border guards and security forces on Concord Dawn.

Clan Varad
Clan Varad was always close to Clan Fett. The clan was formed by Gavik Varad, a Concordian and Mandalorian pilot and great admiral within Clan Fett, who served with the Fetts during many conflicts. After one particularly glorious victory, the Fett Clan leader of the time gave Gavik Varad permission to start his own clan. And so, Clan Varad was born. The Clan, true to its founder's background and military experience, shaped into a small naval power because of its focus on developing space warfare techniques. It made its home on Concordia where its founder was from, though close ties were always maintained with its Fett brethren on Concord Dawn, and from there it maintained regular patrol routes in Mandalorian space for many years.

Clan Varad has always, mainly due to its founder, put most of their military focus on space warfare. Their ships are often based on the latest in cutting-edge Mandalorian spaceship technology, and they train some of the finest pilots and starship crews in Mandalorian space. While small, Clan Varad is therefor one of the most integral parts of the Clan Fett war machine because they supply an efficient naval military power to a clan whose military is mainly based on ground forces.

However, Clan Varad is not just technologically focused when it comes to war. They also supply an army of highly versatile Mandalorian marines trained for aggressive combat operations in every type of terrain from swamps and jungles to deserts and even seaborne operations. The Varad marines are, however, best known for their highly refined space warfare combat training, and when it comes to ship-to-ship warfare, there are no finer soldiers than they.

Clan Beviin
Clan Beviin is one of the newest, and therefor smaller of Clan Fett's allies. Because of its small size, Clan Beviin has been forced to focus their military on one thing above everything else; Discipline. Because of this and extremely gruelling combat training, Clan Beviin has developed some of the deadliest special forces in Mandalorian space, and has greatly helped refine, redefine and modernize Mandalorian military doctrine.

Despite their small size, the Clan also trains a large amount of elite "Drop Forces", storm troopers trained to be the spearhead in planetary invasions (because they are "dropped" onto the planet from space). Their training is one of the most harsh and gruelling in all of the Mandalorian militaries, and the survival rate in combat low enough to give even the most hardened of Mandalorians pause for thought - which, considering the low numbers of Clan Beviin, might be the truest testiment to the discipline and loyalty of its soldiers.

There is an old saying for which the clan has become near infamous. It goes; "Clan Beviin is always at war". Because in peace and war both, whether in the form of spies or reconnaissance and special forces teams, Clan Beviin is always deployed to the most dangerous areas of space to provide a steady stream of solid intelligence and reconnaissance reports for Clan Fett and its Aliit'alor, and for the Mandalorians. This makes Clan Beviin, despite their smaller size, one of the most valuable parts of Clan Fett's military, and has helped the clans to victory many times in the past.
