Ok, after looking at this latest series of battle threads and how they turned out let's analyze how they went and how we can better do this in the future.

We have four threads, right?

Denon Space: #/10
Denon Land: #/10
Bothawui Space: #/10
Bothawui land: #/10

Let's rate them and discuss their effectiveness. Were they run well? Were they of quality? Planning stages?

I need to make a note here that because Bothawui land stalled due to inactivity, Lucid and I thought we might finish it out for sake of story. The battle probably ends with the Republic retreating and the Hutts capturing the base.

I have an idea for the future of battles. As we have seen how battle like this turn out, I feel that in order to get a real war with battlefronts on multiple planets we need big scale control. Two users rp an entire battle as the commander or from some other perspective as the two users see fit(example from the perspective of Bogan Vs Jedi or an important part of the battle).

With a system like this we could do a land and space thread, four users right there. Then, another battle makes eight... twelve... sixteen. We have a lot of potential for RP activity without too many threads and using our active user base. With this we can also see planets where battles take a long time and some that are swift.

I'm trying to bounce ideas here and I'd like some input or expansion. This would also create a lot of commanders and generals, which is what is needed.

To add to this, in a fleet, the fleet commander has control, so the need for more than one user to control a space battle is very little.

If the battles will be just commanders, then why bother with the lower ranks? There should be some sense of a hierarchy rather than just "command this and that," for the non-main thread RPing.

As I said before, I'm not a fan of this idea at all. I think our current system is a good one- it encourages people to roleplay together instead of one-on-one. It makes battles something a little more important to win. "Oh, we lost Corellia? No big, we also lost X, Y, and Z, but we won A, B, C, D, etc."

As of now, PCs still control the entire battle. However, there's PCs under them which control forces as directed by the higher PCs- a realistic system.

One doesn't have to rp as supreme commander in those battles. One can fill ANY role of the battle. Also, a loss is a big things, you can't just win a planet back. Also, planets with first assaults that are inconclusive become planet side wars. These wars have battles which can take up as many users as we want. It's an entire planet.

So since there can be multiple areas of combat in space (therefore taking multiple players), and we can have multiple players on ground, we've got the same system we have now.

Hardly, sir. In space we had a number of commanders somewhat unified, but it wasn't as effective as a supreme commander. With multiple players on the ground they were all in one area. It's a bit of a cluster****.

In space there were supreme commanders- there was just a lack of organization, which wouldn't be all too uncommon.

Either way, one player vs. one player doesn't help everyone play together, which I'm pretty sure is the entire point of these battle threads.

The system we have at the moment works just fine. I see no reason to change it, other than perhaps putting restrictions on how many battle threads a single RP'er can be involved in.

I'm in total support of this one- along with picking a side per round of battles. Maybe two threads per RPer?
