As of recent orders, Caelian was now entrusted to be the apprentice of Master Draugr. The Dathomirian native Zabrak. The reasoning being that he was not trusted by the Sith now that it was seen he could be influenced fairly easily by the enemy. The Jedi had planted whatever ideals into the Champion's head. Whether or not he would admit it, it was still possible they could have him defect. The job Draugr was being tasked with was to ensure that Caelian is committed to the Sith. To make sure he becomes one with the darkness.

Draugr was a cold man. He had been known to do what he must and he had no care now for the ones he had to hurt along the way. The darkness within him exuding from his aura and creating a coldness to him. The Sith have all grown to respect him, and now Caelian will learn from the very man. Awaiting the arrival of his new apprentice, Draugr wore his usual robes and had been standing with him arms crossed looking at the sunrise of the Dathomir. The red planet now with and orange sun coming to the sky. The sky now scarlet in color.

The darkness of Dathomir empowering the Sith Master, he felt it's coldness within him and strengthening him like a drug almost. He was once a no one in a village here, now he was Spider Clan's Leader, and a Sith Master of the Sith Empire. Many smaller titles were given to him for his victories and actions of the past. Now he looked to become a rehabilitator on top of a warrior, Sith, teacher, and killer. Caelian would just need to prove himself worthy of the Empires time.

Caelian was still processing the recent events on Korriban and how close he had come to meeting the end of his mortal coil. It was a strange thing to look death in the face and fight back, and yet somehow he had achieved this, much to the surprise of all those who had condemned him. He would remember each of their faces and names, should they be known, to both ensure that he would know who so easily spoke against him and more importantly, who deserved whatever was coming to them.

He had little experience with Draugr apart from a few short words before the duel, and now their fates were intertwined. There was an enormous pressure placed upon the Echani's shoulders, now his actions would be scrutinised more so than before and any slip up could end both their lives. There was no room for error, which slightly worried him, as there would be no real way to predict how Raze might react to a given result, but succeed, he must.

Simple black robes contrasted with the Echani's white hair as he exited the shuttle and made his way down towards the Zabraki without delay. Caelian had nothing to his name except his battered reputation, but in time both would change. He just had to survive getting there, absorb the lessons that were to be provided and perhaps in time, he might earn the chance that he had been given.

"Master." he spoke after arriving, respectfully lowering his head and awaiting further instruction, as he had already learned that lesson.

Draugr didn't turn to face the new apprentice. If anything, Draugr had felt slight disappointment that Caelian had been brought under him. The Champion was one bad note away from getting the both of them killed by Raze. The Master understood why he was chosen to get the Champion reformed into being a Sith, but at the same time he now carried a lot of pressure on his shoulders.. his own life.

Turning only his head slightly to the left to acknowledge the Champion by speaking to him he would speak up,
"You understand that you being my apprentice let alone being alive is a last chance by Darth Raze don't you?" Draugr turned completely to face the young man. For only a moment during that class he thought he would have a choice in an apprentice, but he was wrong. Now he had to harden the young Sith and make them what a Sith ought to be. "One mistake.. If I see one, I will not hesitate to deal the punishment myself. I will have no mercy. Not anymore."

The Zabrak walked forward and circled the new apprentice almost like a predator to prey, his arms folded behind him and his face of slight disgust. The work will be long and challenging, but he will be a true Sith. Sooner than later if Draugr could help it.
"I suppose if you are to be my apprentice you will need to explain yourself to me. Tell me of the details that happened to catch Lord Raze's attention.. something the victors of battle often don't receive."

Eventually the Sith Master stopped in front of the young man and held his posture strongly. His eyes set on the face of the apprentice, and his aura dark and cold. His eyes still glowing yellow as always.

Caelian waited and listened as Draugr spoke, a tension came across the air as the realities of their situations were made abundantly clear. At least they shared one thing in common, neither had wanted this, yet both must endure it. Darth Raze had simultaneously taken and given his life in one fell swoop, offering a poisoned chalice by demanding an impossible task that he must certainly complete like his life depended upon it, as it literally did.

Watching the Zabraki speak, he answered simply to his first question. "I do." He did not doubt that Draugr would hesitate to fulfil his chilling promise, insolence would not be tolerated. The Echani's back straightened and muscles tightened as the master brought up Lord Raze once more and the events of Korriban. The raw wounds still stung, let alone the mental anguish that the dark lord had subjected Caelian to, such a torture was unforgettable and unforgivable.

"After we were betrayed on Onderon, I was stunned from behind and later woke up inside the ship of a foe I had just previously been fighting. Exhausted and battered from the fight, I opted to learn about my Jedi opponent that had been fighting with a crimson blade. After speaking at length, I found her company agreeable, and I spent the next few days with her before returning to my duties once I was recovered."

Caelian had committed no crime against the empire, nor did he break his vows, yet he was treated like a traitor by his fellow Sith.

"Lord Raze humiliated me for his own twisted pleasure, gorging himself on my mind, my thoughts. If I had betrayed the empire in any way, if I had earned the vitriol that was so quickly heaped, would I not already be dead and not given a second chance? Of course, as I would not be worthy to live, Master."

Perhaps he was not as strong-willed as he should have been, or callous, those insults he could live with. But his loyalty being questioned was a step too far for the Echani. There was much to learn and harsh lessons to overcome, but there was a reason he had travelled all this way to accept his punishment instead of fleeing like some may have.

"I want to remove all doubts of my worthiness, Master. I do not yet know the path before me, but I pledge upon my honour, that I will heed your instruction and obey your commands."

When Draugr gave the Champion the chance to explain why he was being punished, the young apprentice took it as an opportunity to jab insults and talk down about the Dark Lord of the Sith, Darth Raze. There was only a disappointed sight that had come from Draugr as he listened to the banter. The disrespectful back talk, and the blame game. Had this not been his own career and life on the line, he would have snapped the Champion's neck as quickly as possible.

Finally the Champion had finished his crying. The only details he needed were that the Echani had sent days with a Jedi and hadn't killed them while he was there.. after a battle nonetheless. He even mentioned her company to be agreeable. The Jedi are the enemy.. their company should be cold and silent with a lifeless corpse in their place.
"Hmph.. you'll do as I command?" Draugr almost snarled for a moment before deepening his voice to a strong baritone and looking down at the apprentice..

"Insolent child.." With the force the Zabrak would force the young man to his knees and hold him in a stasis. All of his focus in the force ensuring the Champion couldn't move as he would unclip his saber from his belt and ignite it. The Master come in close and pulled the tongue out of the Echani's mouth forcefully stretching as far as he could before striking it with his saber, cutting it off and cauterizing the wound. Once the quick deed was finished he would spartan kick the young man back.

"Did I ask you to spit banter about what Lord Raze has done? I asked of the incident, not your punishment or how you feel. I don;t care how you feel! I am here to make you a Sith. If you wish against then I shall kill you where you lie and accept my punishment to another failure!" Draugr disengaged his saber but kept the hilt in his hand. His eyes not leaving the apprentice as he continued, "Now get your worthless Jedi loving ass up and accept you punishment like a true Sith!"

Falling to his knees, the Echani watched in silence as draugr abused him, as was his right to do so. He had been powerless to protect himself against the intrusive assault of his mind, and now yet again, as his tongue was mercilessly ripped away from him. An indescribable bubble of pain ruptured its way through his jaw, causing his mouth to clamp down as he was then kicked to the ground.

The pulsating suffering caused some initial difficulty for Caelian to find his balance, stumbling a little as he gathered his strength, finally returning to stand before Draugr. "Htevjd ihyyvs." He could no longer hear his own voice, instead a broken gibberish enunciated itself into the nether and found purchase nowhere.

The slow daunting realization of the situation broke through his mind like a levy, the pain, the suffering and this disability was brought upon him by his inability to control his tongue. It had served him well for most of his life, but his muteness would serve an even stronger lesson of obedience.

His frustration grew, stewing away beneath the surface as conflicted emotions pulled his mind in each and every direction. His weaknesses were apparent to the master, he had failed a basic test and suffered for it. This would make him stronger, sure, but only if he could overcome the faults that held him back.

There remained a part of his pride that compelled him to action, to prove his commitment despite everything that Draugr had seen and heard. Quietly moving his hand into his robe, the Echani removed a knife, it's blade dulled and worn by work. His focused eyes never leaving the Zabraki's watchful gaze, he pulled the knife to his ear and held its edge against his soft flesh.

Projecting his thoughts into his master's mind, he painfully and begrudgingly said, "Master, I accept your punishment, whatever you see fit. I would cut my ear off, if this would serve you."

Draugr spat at the ground before Caelian. He was disgusted with the Champion as of right now. The Dathomirian Native through the leftover tongue to the side where one of his bane backs had ran out of the shadows and quickly scooped up and ate the mouth muscle. They served a purpose for being around as he had recently became the leader of Spider Clan and growing his bond with the beasts. Letting them roam more freely and feeding them whatever kill he might take.

Then when the Champion began removing a knife and placing it to his ear. Draugr's expression didn't change, but thinking to himself he had wondered how much this Champion just doesn't comprehend. Why wasn't he getting it just yet? Who had taught this Champion before Draugr? Because they had clearly failed at getting the young man to understand what the Sith were about truly.

"Did I tell you to place a knife to your ear- Actually.. yes.. cut your ear off because you clearly didn't hear my instruction." The Zabrak stood watching as he waited for Caelian to punish himself as he had offered. Draugr had almost began to grow a slight bit of respect for the Champion when he stood up but then he began running his metaphorical tongue and acted a fool. So now for disobeying instruction he will punish himself. By the time the lessons actually implant into the Champion's head, he might be as much a Cyborg as Grievous. Though, Draugr would have him killed before too long.

Caelian had made the wrong choice, a stubborn ridiculous choice but one in error nonetheless as he stood coldly in front of Draugr waiting for his answer. The jagged edge of the blade against his ear whispered gently, enticing the young Echani to not hesitate in front of him, to heave and to pull until the deed had been done.

At his command, Caelian stood silently, beginning the painful incision. Unlike a lightsaber the blade would not slice cleanly nor would it fall through seamlessly but with enough applied pressure and will power, the knife achieved its task and the Echani stood bloodied and in agony. As he stood, the blood pooled slightly before dripping down the side of his face as the metaphorical clock hands lined up in his mind.

His master was displeased with his initial answer, and Caelian had not spoken to his satisfaction. A self-inflicted error, and one he would attempt to address once more telepathically, the pain slowly down his thoughts. "I ....failed to ... treat a jedi as my enemy,.....I am weak willed...and directionless, as Lord Raze said. I misjudged my ability and failed to act as a Sith would, my native weakness was given too much...control. "

Caelian proceeded as ordered. He began cutting through the cartilage of the ear from top to bottom, and cutting the ear completely off. He held it in bloodied hands after he had finished the job. Draugr was just about to speak when he heard the voice of the Champion flow through his mind. Was this kid just dumb or stupid? Draugr began wondering when he had asked for Caelian to speak.. to degrade himself. The Zabrak had an intense glare set on the Champion.

Using the force he would rip the ear out of the hands of Caelian and towards the darkness as a snack to the eight legged wonders. Then he ripped the blade out as well and threw to the side. Draugr knowing well enough the saber was on the belt of the Champion, he would then command Caelian,
"Remove your saber.. toss it to the side." Caelian had mentioned doing as Draugr commanded.. if he knew what was good for him he would listen.

The Zabrak would move in and speak as he took the first few steps slowly,
"Did I ask you to speak?.. No.." Draugr shook his head, "Did I ask you to degrade yourself to me?.. No.." With that Draugr was now standing directly in front of Caelian. "Finally.. did I ask you to tell me you were too weak to be a Sith?" Draugr paused for a moment testing to see if Caelian would speak.. this was a test. Now Draugr would see if he failed once again..

A twisted pain tore it's way through the side of his face, there was no cauterising with a regular blade. The damage was done and he suffered through it holding back the pained expression that lay bursting just below the surface.

Caelian watched and waited whilst Draugr spoke, compliying as asked again.

In a simple movement the Echani took the hilt of his lightsaber and flicked it away to the side. It's metallic hilt rolling a short distance before coming to an unceremonious halt.

Caelian held what remains of his tongue as Draugr approached, watching his master but now choosing to remain silent this time.

As Draugr stood waiting, he heard no voice in his head, saw no shaking of the head. Finally he thought. The Champion was beginning to learn his place. Draugr would go on to answer his own question with an angered expression. "..No.." Now it was time to carryout the punishment for speaking out of place. To teach him to know when to speak and when to do certain things. The Zabrak would headbutt the Champion.

Then quickly use the force to drag him to his knees choking him and swing his metal knee to the mouth of the Champion. After the hit landed, he would release the choke and take a step back.
"Now.. time for the real lesson to begin."

The Zabrak straightened up as he began preparing to give the lesson that was originally in store. The Champion would have a moment to stand. Draugr was not going to fail Raze. If he had to beat the lesson into Caelian then he would but for now the Champion would have a moment to prepare.

Caelian stood silently and listened as Draugr monologued briefly, wondering what was in store yet. It didn't take long before he had an answer as the solid forehead came crashing into his own, knocking the Echani backwards, stumbling a few steps unexpectedly.

Without relief or time to process events, he found himself then forced down onto his knees with a thump. A terrible crushing sensation pulsated around his throat, choking and forcing an internal struggle to breathe and while that was painful, its presence was accompanied by a large swinging metallic appendage to smack some sense into his head.

The one-two combo left the Echani to fall backwards onto the ground, his face was scraped by the assault. A split lip, a cut on his cheek and whatever was left of his ear left his face a bloodied mess, but it wasn't the end, if anything it was only the beginning. Breathing heavily while rolling over onto his side, the Echani pushed himself to stand up and face Draugr once more.

There was but a moment to catch his breath and wait silently, for whatever lesson might be delivered.
