Mathius Annunaki, in his infinite wisdom, showed up to the training field late. What he saw, did not frighten him, the sight of the recruits being marched through formations by screaming instructors. Mathius figured he would be with platoon considering his status as a Private. It surprised him that a Lt. Comander told he he would receive one on one training with a Captian Remiel Vaern. Mathius knew snipers were in short supply but usually snipers were assigned to platoons immediately, this perplexed Mathius.

Remiel made his way out to the training field to meet with his newest trainee, Mathius Annunaki. Eventually meeting up with the one he assumed was the private-in-question, Remiel approached him - still donning his large overcoat, hat, and shaded spectacles - and greeted the new recruit.

"Hello there. I'm assuming you're Mathius. I'm Captain Remiel Vaern; pleased to meet you."

"Nice to meet you sir! I am Private Mathius reporting for duty, sir." "

Mathius looked into the captains eye andknew he was a serious son of a bitch.

Remiel nodded. He was pleased when trainees had already been endowed with a certain degree of respect - or maybe humility, or a little of both - that allowed for easy training.

"Alright. I'll need to ask you a few questions before we begin. First, why should you be admitted into the Alsakan military? What makes you any different from any other guy in here? What separates you from the civilians wandering the surface of Coruscant?"

Mathius took a stance of attention though it was a bit sluggish.

"I want to help the Alsakans in the Conflict. I feel you need me, you barely hve snipers sir. I am certainly a better shot thn any other recruit you have and probably better than most of the other soldiers. I have what you want, sir."

He figured the Captain was a good ole boy and like the respect aspect of the military, Mthius himself found it useless, but kept up the respectful persona anyway.

"Interesting," Remiel mused. "Well, I don't know how good your skills are, but we shall see in due time. Tell me, what do you believe about Shalharra and the Alsakan religion?" he continued.

"I have only learned on the religion over the past 3 days. I believe you have the right to your religion though I will not be a part of it. You have been wronged sir and I instead of coming to you as a mercenary I have come as soldier."

Mthius wondered when he could show this dog robber how good he was at shooting.

"Hmm. No problem at all, I'm no adherent to the religions of the Jintu Order, though neither you nor I would benefit from announcing such a thing in public -- just some food for thought," he added.

Waving his hand, he turned from his trainee and began to walk off toward the training fields. "Follow me. We're headed out to the shooting range. We'll see just how good of a shot you are there. While we're heading there, why don't you tell me the weapons or skills you are proficient in? Besides the sniper rifle, of course."

Mathius followed the Captain toward the field.

"I consider myself a ghost. Give me a sniper rifle and I dare you to find me. My stealthiness is remarkable. I am very good with electronics, I can repair just about anything and also create things especially weapons. I am also pretty good tactician though I have never led any men."

"Indeed. What would happen should you be, by some wild chance, found on the battlefield? What would you do when confronted with a carbine? Or a blade? Anyway, here we are," Remiel motioned toward a set of 10 targets, all stationed about 100 yards away.

"Now then, using your blaster rifle - or another firearm, if you prefer - shoot those ten targets; we'll see how good you are from there."

After he had finished talking, Remiel set the last four targets to 'motion' on the target controls located nearby. Now, the last four targets would progress in a timely manner on a set vertical and horizontal path, making it slightly more difficult to score a hit.

Mathius took out his blaster, he figured 100 yards distance with 4 moving targets is a piece of cake with a regular sights of a blaster. Mathius got to one knee took aim and then started oon his targets. It took a little longer than Mathius figured it would if all the targets were stationary, but he was quick nonetheless. 10/10 and even hit the last moving target twice dead center.

"Well sir although I am a much better marksman than hand to hand fighter I can hold my own. Some call it blood lust, but I call it controlled violence. If anyone gets within 5 yards my sc'rath will take care of them."

Mathius grabbed the hilt of the sword and flashed its blade at the captain then stood at attention.

Mathius stood up holstered the weapon and came to attention. The Captaim seemed impressed but that only made things worse. Mathius was about to get pushed to the limit and Mathius was up to the challenge.

"Whats next sir?"

"Not bad. Not bad at all," he mused. Apparently, the youth and trainees were all veteran marksmen these days. Not really much to teach them in that regard.

"Now then, let's see what that blade of yours can do. Try to maintain a certain degree of focus and don't get too violent; we don't want any permanent injuries."

With a flick of his wrist, Remiel drew a longsword from a satchel he had brought with him. Standing in a basic defensive position, Remiel stood firm. "You may begin when ready."

Mathius unsheathed his sc'rath, holding the knife upside down he bobbed his head a little and went in for a disarming strike. Mathius was surprised that the Captain moved fast and after he almost fell over Mathius regained his footing and came back in his original stance.

{{OOC:Carefully with the bunnying}}

Remiel watched the attack slowly and carefully and moved his weapon to block the attack. As his trainee returned to his original position, Remiel inspected the area around them for any possible terrain advtages; seeing none, Remiel charged forward, holding his blade behind him. Rushing forward, he utilized a basic horizontal strike, that if not blocked, would cause a light slash across Mathius' chest.

Mathius almost recieved a blow, but deflected it to the right. He then went for another disarming blow which would knock the longsword to the ground and open the Captain up for another attack.

As Remiel watched his blade fly to the right, he was subtly impressed. Not a bad start. Performing a quick jump backwards, Remiel dodged Mathius disarming swipe and allowed himself enough space to prepare for another attack. Remiel ran around his trainee, far enough to avoid being hit by his blade, and attacked his pupil's left flank. This time, he performed a diagonal strike that would cut his trainee from left shoulder to right hip. As he came in close enough, however, he quickly averted his blade and changed the direction of the blade; the longsword was now being thrust forward and would end up in his trainee's back if he didn't dodge or block it.

Mathius barely swung his dirk around glancing the Captains blow way from his back. Turning around Mathius looked at the Captain.

"Had enough?"

Mathius then smiled.

Remiel, too, smirked at the comment. "Not yet."

Keeping himself where he was, Remiel slashed at his trainee with a quick horizontal swipe. Counting on Mathius to block the attack with his weapon, Remiel drew a knife from his cloak pocket and thrust it at the Private's upper leg, hoping to catch him offguard.

Mathius parryed the long knife and then felt a sharp pain in his leg.

"Ahhhh, I didnt see that coming."

Mathius fell with a dagger sticking out of his leg.
