Somewhere on the Rimma Route

The trade cruiser flew slowly through the hyperspace lanes between Bestine and Sullust. Kam looked outside the window as the blue haze of hyperspace glowed outside the ship. She had taken on this job, working for a small business owner, flying important mining materials to Sullust. A routine security job, that required her to only be on the lookout for pirates and the like. But since they left Devaron, where their journey began, they suffered no ambushes.

This had left Kam some time to think. It had been a few months since the events of Dantooine. The Imperials had bombarded the only hope of the Rebels ever uniting. She had fled in a hurry, not hoping she would ever see her fellow rebel comrades again. Since then, she had taken on multiple security jobs, hauling cargo's from the Colonies to the Outer Rim. But she had only suffered a few pirate attacks, with no indication of rebel activity. She despised these pirates, feeding on the chaos the Sith had brought on the galaxy. They were not like the rebels she knew.

Kam was bent on keeping away from the Empire as far as possible. Aside from not choosing to aid Imperial suppliers, she was afraid they might recognise her and put her unto an awful prison planet. And while this cruiser, she knew, flew Imperial colours, She was all to well acquainted with the Sith's brutality. She had seen it during her time as a trooper. But the ship's captain, as far as she knew, was a Imperial loyalist, unfortunately.

She was interrupted from her train of thought by the ship's security captain. " Andoria, to the bridge." The comms said rudely. Kam sighed heavy, but stood up from her seat and gulped the last sip of her drink.

Kam entered the bridge, where two guards nodded. The captain turned to face her, and the security captain turned as well. " There is a routine refuel coming up at Woostri. I leave you in charge of the team's security, understood?" The captain said. Kam nodded, and answered: " Understood. The refueling team shall be escorted by myself and two others, sir." The captain nodded, and turned back to facing the front window. " Be watchful for pirates." the captain concluded, his back turned to Kam.

The ship came out of hyperspace near Woostri, where the Woostoids had constructed a small space station for orbital docking and refuelling. The ship steered towards the station. Kam had turned to the eastern docking port, but then it happened.

An alert was raised. The comms shouted out: " Attention all crew, we are under a pirate attack. All personnel to battle stations. This is not a drill. All crew to stations." Kam looked outside the window of the docking port, where two small vessels now attempted to board. Kam took up her weapon, and ordered the other guards to follow suit. With a sudden thump, the door was breached. Kam was disoriented for a few seconds, but then, two pirates flew out the door, weapons blazing. Within a few more seconds, the first guard was down. Kam, now determined, ordered to return fire, and the first two pirates fell in mere moments.

When the haze of the door's breach cleared, she could make out more of the pirate boarders. They wore some suit of armour unlike that of most pirates. But she couldn't look at them for long, as she was blasted back into the cargo area. Taking refuge behind a few crates with a fellow guard, she returned more fire. A few more pirates fell, until the pirates retreated behind the crates like she did. But instead of continuing fire, what appeared to be the leader now began talking: " Lay down your weapons! Bring us your captain and you won't be harmed!"
