His trail had gone cold. Colm could no longer find any trace of his rogue comrades. His former master and friend, and then his fellow Jedi master. The two were close to him and they'd left. He'd tried to follow them but they had eluded encounter. He'd found only other Ospion and dead ends.

Now Colm found himself back on Coruscant, every lead had brought him here. Back to this planet, to the center of the universe. He waited for some mysterious person of whom he was unsure would even come. This had taken months to set up, whomever this was they were supposed to know the whereabouts of the former Jedi Master Cade Varr. If Colm could find him he might be able to find Corina. She was the drive he had, he wanted her back from the Ospion.

"What are you doing here Colm?" He asked himself out loud. He barely knew what he was thinking, he was standing outside the senate building waiting for a person whom would never come. He leaned on the balcony in front of him.

Colm looked much older than he had when he'd become a Master Jedi. He'd grown a full beard that was graying in places. He looked as if he were forty when he was barely into his thirties.

(I need to get back into practice.)

Every step seemed like the one before it. A slow shuffle propelling him forward to...somewhere. He didn't even know where he was going. His destination was not important. IT was the act of movement in itself. If he stopped...he might stop feeling completely. To vanish seamlessly amongst the throngs of people and never reappear...despite everything, a small part of him feared death, forced him to cling onto what little life he could call his own.

In many ways, he was already just another corpse rotting in the dark parts of the galaxy. Another voice amongst the screams, the pleading, the cursing, the apologies. It was deafening in a silent way, like every instrument in the galaxy was playing at once, and they were all out of tune. And the music was wrong. And they musicians could not play, for their fingers were warped, distorted. The sound was horrible. And he couldn't escape it.

And amongst that silent chaos, a single lost voice was screaming. And noone was listening.

The force spoke to him then, he felt a strong force. One attuned strongly with the force was near. Below him there was a presence, it felt like many of the fallen jedi did. It felt far off and powerful, like a sun. It would have been impossible to miss, but amongst all of those in the street below. He closed his eyes and reached out then.

Are you the one I am looking for? Where are you going? Where have you been?

The steps slowed, then halted. He shivered in the dark, in the cold. A breeze drifted through the spires, reaching nooks and depths sunlight hadn't touched in decades. Here one could be invisible without hiding. Here one could be forgotten, at least until someone brought light to the dark places...

The voices grew louder. The swirled in his mind like a hurricane, screaming, pleading, until they filled his consciousness with their pain, their hunger, the broken dreams of a million souls...he snapped, his mind closing up, mental safeguards shutting away the voices, and for that brief moment of calm, a voice rang clear in his mind - calm, selfless, an innocent inquirer.

Eyes came into focus in the dark, and for a moment he saw beyond the fog in his mind, a rae moment of self-realization and self-awareness. He was in the dark. He was cold. All memory of self came in brief scraps, small glimpses into a life that had long been abandoned. A name that was no longer spoken. And then the voices returned, and he lost himself amongst the cacophony once more.

His response was silence. Now Colm was curious, who or what was this? He turned from the balcony but hesitated for a moment, what if his messenger came? No, there was no chance of a meeting here anymore.

In a moment he was in the crowds, slipping between the rush towards a feeling. It was the force, it was leading him, but he never knew quite how to channel the sense. This was a skill left to other Masters who's focus was more upon the force.

Where are you going?

The Master Jedi followed the trail into the dark corners of the city. Light had barely seen the ground he was passing. Then he found himself back into the light. Where was he being lead?

In his mind, the voices grew quiet once more, as if they were suddenly behind a wall. He was in the dark, and he was cold. But he wasn't as cold as before. A warming light entered the corners of his mind, a soft hum following soon after. The voices grew quiet. He looked around. There was noone around. He was alone. He was always alone. But then...there was another. Close. Comforting. One who brought light to the dark. Made the voices quiet. He wanted to call out to the warming presence.

His voice failed him. He gave out little more than a quiet squeak. How long had it been since he had drank, or eaten? He didn't remember. It was all a haze. Day by day. Following the same path but always being in a new place. It was all a haze. His legs shook. He fell onto hs hands. He was cold. So cold...
