DESCRIPTION​

The HX4 Starthunder is a light starbomber operated by the Jedi Order, and by various Rebel cells across the Galaxy. Considered one of the most important combat spacecraft in the Rebel arsenal, it is an integral part of the Rebel strategy of hit-and-run operation against the Empire.

Designed primarily for swift attack operations, the Starthunder is well equipped for its role, delivering its payload against primarily capital ships and ground targets. The vessel is well armed, with a useful load consisting of 6 proton torpedoes from 2 launchers. Twin forward-firing medium laser cannons are mounted in the nose, giving the craft some ability to strafe targets with guns as well.

In addition to its armament, the Starthunder is equipped with a light deflector shield, as well as a class 4 hyperdrive, giving it mobility and a small amount of extra durability. This is just as well, as although the Starthunder is well equipped to take on stationary or slow-moving targets, it lacks any true defensive weapons, and is too slow and comparatively sluggish in maneuvering to nekfight with most proper starfighters. As a result, it is heavily dependent on escorting starfighters to clear enemy interceptors from its attack vector. In cases where it is possible to do so, Starthunder pilots will try to come in low and fast against targets such as airfields in an effort to catch enemy snubfighters on the ground, where they are easy prey.

The Starthunder is manufactured by K-Mark Industries, an Outer Rim manufacturing firm rumored to have been bankrolled by Koensayr Manufacturing, and staffed with some of the company's best designers. Despite Imperial investigations, however, no provable connection has ever been established between Koensayr and K-Mark.
