Also if you have any ideas or suggestions about anything, goals the Cartel could have, business propositions, layout of the boards, anything, you can post it here. We are open and eager to hear what you guys are thinking so that we can make this faction into an amazing story telling opportunity for all.

What's wrong with his faaaaace?

The result when you try to clone a hybrid organism with boar and human DNA.

In all seriousness I personally think we need more threads about cartel hits and operations as opposed to more social threads. I've only just become active again and it seems like the cartel is more akin to a frat house than an actual criminal organization. Maybe there are threads like this and I just haven't seen them yet, maybe its just me being an asshole, or maybe its just me as a member wanting to see more [OPEN] threads where 5 or so users rob a bank, stealthily attempt to infiltrate an imperial prison to bust out a high ranking member, ninja their way into a rebel facility/ Jedi base/ or Sith academy in order to steal info/ kidnap a member/ steal high value tech, assault the various street gang operations on Nar Shaddaa in order to steal spice or arms, or simply running from local planetary police as a drug/ arms deal gets caught.

Also like the Jedi and Sith factions I'd like to see some training threads and a skill list such as Slicing, marksmanship, weapon handling, hand to hand combat, acrobatics, piloting, smuggling, speech/persuasion, etc. Jedi and Sith have a fairly decent amount of immersion and character development in the 14 metric tuns of training threads they have and I feel like if the cartel had a set of main skills it would help increase the popularity (and subsequently members) of the Cartel. Maybe then we'll get a storyline.

I have a couple ideas floating around in my head about this subject but right now I'm going to wrap up this post.

Maybe I'm speaking out of turn or I'm blatantly misinformed on the cartel's operations, but I'd like to feel like my character(s) are in a criminal outfit.

Also I'm slightly buzzed right now so don't take this personally.

I agree, more hits etc are certainly needed.
Also, as we are a criminal cartel - would it be possible to see some sort of 'special unit' in the military - something like the the inner circle for the lead Hutts (made men possibly)?

More stuff- We've been doing a lot recently. Grand theft Space Stations, beating up the Waste Rangers, and having missions that actually matter. You don't see these things in the Cartel boards, because that's not what they're for, they're for the more social stuff, and meetings, and what have you. On the whole though, a lot of that is small stuff that would make for a good mission, but not something I'm really going to be focused on organizing. My main goal at the moment is really big things, and more threads open to everyone in the Cartel to participate in. We're going to be taking a much more active role in the story, and that means maybe less of the really sneaky criminal stuff, and more of the overt "get the **** out of our way" kind.

One thing I'm really looking at doing is focusing less on the "busy work" missions that were around before, and creating more [OPEN] event threads, like what Jiang did with the Commonwealth. Those always seemed popular and gave people the sense that they were contributing far more than the "go here do X" that never really added much to the Faction, or provided a good prompt for better character development. In addition I'm going to try to encourage more NPCing for what missions/bounties we do have, by adding rewards for doing so to the tiered rewards once they're back up.

As to training threads, if you want to do some, feel free. But making them a part of the Cartel? Nope.

Training threads will never be required for advancement in the Cartel. People really don't enjoy them on the whole, and I don't really see much of a benefit to adding them, when non-FS character's typically start out with a good number of skills, and have a bit more leeway in how they advance as well. The ones you see that have storylines, and so on are a slim minority of the endless monotony that is the world of classes, and training threads. My suggestion would be to use the story prompts that exist in missions, and bounties (when they're back up) to work alongside fellow members of the Cartel to complete goals that matter, and that advance your character's skills, and provide opportunities for social interaction.

Frankly, no. We already have Natori, and I'm generally against adding things that are not only exclusive to only a few current member's, but also involve little more than controlling NPC's. If there's ever a special unit of anything, it would be more based off of IC participation in major events than anything else, and rewarding player's for actively contributing to the forwarding of the Cartel's story.
