Con Lorda Council is NPC, but there will be room for Con Lorda PC Hutts should they move up that high, if I'm not mistaken. They need to be rather influential with the rest of the faction PC's in some form or fashion. Or it could be completely NPC group.

I see where you're coming from with this - however I am not sure if we both have the same idea (which is my fault.)

What I am suggesting is that these NPC's are used by the FL's to groom players for promotion. Captain Lvl NPC's given to Enforcer Lvl Players for a week or so, CL lvl NPC's to Captains etc.

We really need to be encouraging our members to get jumping up the ranks, otherwise we would stagnate as a faction.

On the note of promotions, Nor'baal, the Hutt Leadership Team has identified some flaws in how we address such things, and are working to review that process in order to not only speed up the response time of the Promotion Request thread, but also to foster and encourage people to apply for promotion sooner.

If you have any questions or suggestions on the matter, please feel free to PM them to me.

Here's a question: in regards to rank, what financial assets (businesses, ships, etc) is appropriate for each rank?(after all this is a cartel so monetary values do come into play sort of)

I've been working on something specific to this with Matt and Gaja. While the official write up isn't there yet, we're going to move away from "individual" ownership of assets, instead stating that all assets are owned by the Cartel, but managed by your PC's. The higher ranked your PC, the larger and more numerous assets they can be responsible for. Bigger assets, more assets, more money.

Essentially we are trying to really drive the unified Hutt Cartel, as this is a single group, working towards a unilateral goal of profit.

Beyond that, you're more than welcome to any assets available to any PC. Examples of these things include;
  • Droid
  • Pet
  • Ship (No bigger than medium freighter)
  • Accomodation

Keep in mind that these PC assets, per character guidelines should reflect your characters standing wealth - a prospect who's not worked a day in their life will not have a 5 bedroom house on the waterfront.

Hopefully this helps a bit, if you have any more questions on the matter; don't hesitate to PM me.

That does help. I do like the idea if moving away from individual businesses to a unified conglomerate. It creates a sense of unity that was missing from the cartel.

Military Ranks
For both the Navy and Army of this faction, could there be some sort of command structure to add an organisational strength to the defence of the faction? At present its just Captains lead enforcers who lead prospects. As nice as this is its very weak and 'ad hoc' done on a sort of 'whoever is there' basis. 'tis fine for a militia, not an army.

I know we are not a military faction - but we still need to defend ourselves. I suggest a rank structure for characters within the army and navy of the cartel be put in place - so as to provide not only an organisational strength, but also to attract more players to it.

EDIT: For names of ranks, either WW2 ranks, or if you want to be more 'cartel' what about persian army ranks?

You said it yourself, "we are not a military faction". DataBase ;Read the last two entry, this will tell a little on the arms of the people. Plus I think we should not get crazy with ranks.

I don't think that would work for a criminal organization. Skyway said it best though.

But having at least a designated head for the military and navy would not be a bad idea, even if there is no rigid military hierarchy.

All valid points. Per a discussion I had with Nor'baal on skype about the matter, I felt that the application of the standard Cartel ranks would apply seamlessly (given our 'militant' status). Captain/Champios are in command. Enforcers are the squad leaders. Prospects are the [st]cannon fodder[/st] bulk of our defensive capabilities.

Its simple, yes. But we've seen in the past that an excess of ranks (especially when they are separate from the main body) convolute write ups, confuse existing members, and alienate new members.

I will concede that clarifying the roles of the Cartel Ranks within the defensive structure may not be a bad idea, but the addition of new ranks/specifications is wholly unnessecary.

We should build a moat. You know, so they Sith can't get in.

On a more serious note, I do have a question regarding bounties. Are the Hutt staff the only ones able to make new ones? And if not can people potentially put up bounties on other peoples PCs?

I believe Hutt Staff are the only ones able to approve new bounties, but I believe we are more than happy to accept input and suggestions for new ones! Any new bounty ideas you have, please provide us with the following information via PM (Hutticane Matt, or myself). Once we've approved them, we'll add them to the Bounty Board and credit you for your contribution!

With specifics to PC characters, personally I'm fine with it to happen, but I'd like to ensure that the PC you're putting the bounty on knows about it OOCly, so there are no surprises for them. Remember, people put alot of time and effort into their characters and some folk aren't as keen to see their characters killed or locked up. But again; fill out the template and we'll go from there!

Wanted Level (Low/Med/High)
Target Name
Target Value
Species
Homeworld
Alias
Gender
Height
Status (Armed/Harmless)
Age
Weight
Condition of Bounty (Alive or Dead)

A brief description of the bounty's background, warnings of past experience, etc.

You're more than welcome to put a Bounty on Abalam's head... which, is something I talked to Hutticane Matt about a while back.

Though, be warned. Just because I allow him to be hunted for a Bounty doesn't mean that I'll simply let you take that payday. You will either kill him, or he'll kill you.

So sign him up. Hit me up via PM/VM or Skype. It's always on.

EDIT: Though, capturing him to be used for whatever the Cartel could user him for would be fun too. Though, the capture or die thing still applies.

As Cass has said, we can make bounties to send to the Hutt leaders for approval. I've made quite a few that were approved. One being The Flying Acklay. If you need the actual template I can send you it:)

I still maintain a rank structure for the military is vital.

You cannot fight a war as a gang - you will loose. A small army - made up of mercenaries - needs a structure. Not the cartel, but its PMC's.

Treat the Cartel and its Military as separate entities - members of the PMC are not members of the Cartel - they are just employees.

To help de-clutter the mission thread, perhaps we can have a separate thread for completed missions. And is there any updates on if the cartel will have their own manufacturing company and a product catalog similar to MM?

The cartel has several manufacturing companies. Each with their own unique style, target market, etc. Sooner, rather than later (hopefully), I'll be producing a "Hutt Cartel" Product Catalogue, featuring all these pieces of tech in a simple and easy to access location. If you have any questions or have any tech you need to find a manufacturer for; Just PM me and I'll get you going :).
