The military that the Cartel controls is comprised of mainly hired mercenaries and security detail from various groups. Those who are not hired from these groups include the numerous bounty hunters and mercenaries that ally themselves under the Cartel umbrella. The military strength of the Cartel also includes contracted smugglers and criminals of other nefarious affairs. They add up to about 45% of the Cartel's forces. Majority of these forces are stationed on the various ships that the Cartel owns and operates. The majority of these troops are controlled by the big 5 families, acting as militia, guards and gangs under their rule.

The other 55% come from a combination of hired mercenaries from Natori Security Company. These companies have been paid in full with the vast amounts of earnings that the Cartel has worked tirelessly to gain. Peaking, but not restricted to, the Bacta Cartel's profits, all smuggling, arms dealing, bounty collecting, spice dealing and all other legal or illegal activities the Cartel is a part of, and are under the direct control of the Grandee Lorda.

All of the hired mercenaries and Cartel's own are armed with the technology that is obtained by the Cartel through its days in the Retrade and through the underground Gun Markets which are hosted on Nar Shaddaa. Armaments also come from purchased wares from various weapon manufactures such as Sharp Heavy Industries.
