DESCRIPTION
Hoersch-Kessel Drive, Inc (HKD) has been on the starship construction scene for light freighter and courier galactic vessels for centuries. The ship builder has managed to remain neutral among the many conflicts throughout the years, settling for whoever can afford their ships. While the company does not have many different models to call its own, it has done the best it can with the models it has on the market.

The dropship market dipped since the Clone Wars. However, mercenary and planetary militia groups have begun to bring dropships back into their arsenals. With a lack of competitors in this area, HKD set out to design their own version of a dropship. The idea was to make them small, durable and agile, but pack enough firepower to clear a hot landing zone. While they fare well in air/space to ground engagements, their performance in dogfights is severely lacking due to their slow speed and lack of armament to their rear quadrant. HKD-600 "Assailants" will often require starfighter escort if there are hostile fighters in the area.

LEGALITY
Restricted. HKD-600 dropships are well armed, and civilian operators will require extra licensing to operate one legally.

INTENT
The intent of this ship is to provide a legitimate dropship to be used by PCs in situations where soldiers need to be quickly transported around the galaxy or in atmospheric operations.

This would be a top of the line dropship with all of its characterstics that make it virtually better in every way to existing shuttles. 25 standard tons is a fair amount but the speed and maneuverability is pretty high. It has a lot of weapons that are on rotating turrets and multiple barrels which also makes it seem like it is on par with everything if not better. If you want to keep the characteristics I think it would make sense to say this is limited in production which also lines up with the falling dropship market. The reason that dropships aren't being made is because there isn't really many buyers compared to how it used to be.

Also the pic looks like something out a mix between Crisis, Halo and Xcom and doesn't really feel very star warsy in my personal opinion.

Thanks for the feedback. After looking at it, I agree with you.

I dipped the speed down to 50, dropped the cargo to 5 tons, and bumped the maneuverability to Average. While there is a lot of firepower in the forward firing arc, there is nothing to the rear. None of the turrets can really shoot straight back. Fighters and gunships would annihilate this thing.

I disagree with the aesthetics. There are a couple that follow this kind of design:

If it is too far off base and I have to change the images, I can do so.
