Dark Jedi of the Bogan
A History of Darkness

We are the Dark Jedi of the Bogan. Our powers are fueled by the darkness that we can find within ourselves. We bring chaos to an already chaotic existence, using our powers to their fullest extents. We live life to the fullest or die a swift death. Peace is a lie, so hoping for it us useless.

Our fire was fueled during the last war between the Galactic Republic and the Alsakan Union, for we were once part of the Jedi Order. The Jedi Grandmaster, Banik Kelrada, went rogue, assassinating the Alsakan Vicar and murdering one of his own Jedi Masters - Edo Tesu, the late husband of one of the original members of our people to leave the Jedi. We became the Ospion Guardians; we were not of the light, yet we were not of the darkness. We existed only in a thin shade of gray while we attempted to align ourselves with the Galactic Republic as the galaxy’s true defenders.

We were weak and pathetic then.

Once the Alsakan Union signed their unconditional surrender, we realized that the galaxy was ready to come after us. Not that we had done anything to the galaxy, of course, but that was the natural and chaotic way of things. Those in power feared anything that could remove their power, and so they would strike with the force of a thousand burning suns against us. We were not going to let that happen.

To avoid certain death, our progenitors fled into what the Republic now calls the Outer Rim Territories. We found a planet called Conscio, one that was bathed in the dark side of the Force, and it changed us. We began to act differently, angrily, but our darker emotions were kept in check by our ignorant desire to still help a galaxy that clearly needed to be destroyed. It was not until we found the manifesto that we realized we were not living up to our true potential...or at least those of us who are still breathing realized our true potential.

In an abandoned enclave on Conscio, we discovered a relic from the First Jedi Schism - the teachings of the first Dark Jedi, Xendor, and the beliefs of his minions, the Legions of Lettow. This manifesto had been placed there by the survivors of the First Jedi Schism after Xendor's death and the schism's end. Many of our people were inspired by this and began to realize, with the help of the dark side in the air, how wrong we had been for joining the Jedi Order, and how wrong we had been for trying to help the galaxy. The galaxy wasn’t meant to be saved, it was meant to be enslaved! Only the strong survive, and we now realize this obvious truth. The ancient teachings of the dark side, called the Bogan, taught us how to propel ourselves forward.

Some of us, however, did not think it was an obvious truth. We argued for weeks on end about how to proceed forward with our order, and it ultimately spiraled into a schism of our own. Some of us wanted to continue defending the galaxy. Our then-leader, Linora Tristan Tanoor, once a Jedi Master, was not what one would consider a good person, but she had not embraced the darkness within her. She and the dissenters were slaughtered once we unleashed our true powers and realized our true potential. Only the strong survived, and the strongest and darkest of us all became our leader. We did not speak their name. They were called only “The Bogan”, as all leaders have been called since. We became the Dark Jedi of the Bogan in name and in essence.

We trained for ten years on this planet, maximizing our powers in the dark side of the Force - in the Bogan. When these ten years came to an end, we returned to what was now the known galaxy. We settled in the Mid Rim, on a planet untouched by the Republic called Ando Prime. This frozen ball of ice proved to be a safe place for us for it, while hospitable, was not a desirable place, and we assumed that no one would ever want to live there.

That was not exactly true.

As we soon discovered, a primitive sect of users of the light side of the Force - the Ashla - dwelled in the planets Andobi Mountains in their own monastery. This sect was a group of Bendu monks, descended from the Order of Dai Bendu that helped to form the Jedi Order thousands of years earlier. Originally, we left them alone, thinking they were nothing to concern ourselves with. That was until they began sticking their noses in our affairs, attempting to redeem us when there is clearly nothing to redeem us from - we are following the only realistic path there is to take. To prove to them our steadfast commitment to our way, we slaughtered them like the pathetic animals that they were. We razed their monastery and built our own on the same site. It was our first kill, and one of our greatest joys.

For ten more years, we watched the galaxy fall into chaos once more. We watched the situation between the Republic and the Hutt Empire of the Outer Rim degenerate into open warfare. It was at this moment we realized we had the perfect opportunity to stop lurking in the shadows and finally strike against our former Jedi brothers. We would bring chaos to order.

We had to make certain, of course, that we did this the right way. We could not run into battle with blasters blazing, at least not at first. While we would reveal ourselves, we would remain a shadowy and mysterious organization, striking from the darkness rather than the open. We would be a low-level presence but a high-level threat, an assassin-like force that killed with swift accuracy and only struck when the time was right. We are not the type of people to build large fleets and engage in open warfare. We were far more subtle, and yet far more effective. We could wreak havoc upon the galaxy, and for a time we struck at both the Hutts and the Republic to make it look as if the other had committed certain atrocities.

But now it is time for us to strike fast and strike hard. The Jedi will fall. The galaxy will die.
