It'd been ages since the old Ranger had left the claustro confines of Coruscant. Finally cleared for duty, pilot's license reinstated, all the obligations she could do... and though there was political mud-slinging left and right, there was one thing she could do to better the galaxy that didn't involve the damn Force-using menaces, and help her fellow Rangers.

Blasting pirates out of their stronghold.

The Blackfin Blastboat Jaws commed in to her fellow Rangers, a rough, bitter woman's voice pinging clear through to them as she elegantly maneuvered the craft through the asteroid field. This wasn't gonna be a simple in and out deal; they had to cut out these bad boys for good, so no time to waste on small talk or smart comments.

"This is Coulter, on Jaws standing by. How do you two read?"

And then a pause.

"Got a set plan?"

Couldn't hurt, they would be in striking distance soon, and had to be careful how to address in case of listening ears. You never knew in unallied space what chuckleheads could be blabbing away on the comms.

The Grimlock, Jaxon Clane's HWK-290 Light Freighter would enter the system. Dusty would glance to Rave, his trusty droid co-pilot, while Todorak sat on his lap. Hearing the hail he'd curse. "It's morphin' time, Todo. Rave, pull up Jax's info on Coulter." he said with a wry grin as he reached for his helm and pulled it on. Activating the Scrambler, which would mirror Jaxon Clane's voice, he'd glance over to Rave, who pulled up the personnel file. He activated his comm. "Courtier, Clane, checking in. Been awhile."

He'd let it settle for a bit. He hadn't worked with other Rangers since he took the mantle of Jaxon Clane, except for an operation on Nar Shadaa. So, he was hoping his cover could last long enough. "We can do a few passes, soften them up, then go in loud. You know me, I always like making noise."

This is her first mission as a Ranger. There are still a lot of things she needs to learn. Mannerisms are not one of them though. More like how to communicate with the others in a way they can understand. She has picked up a few words in basic but they are choppy, not complete sentences like someone may expect.

Luckily the one thing she hasn't had to worry about just yet is learning how to pilot a ship. Last time someone tried to teach her, Rhax'ra freaked out and froze. Shame out of embarrassment and the thought of committing sacrilege followed. She had already done something very wrong in her culture and wasn't ready to commit another sin.

However the Tusken had learned how to use communication devices and man turrets. So she is not all that unprepared for this mission.

Adjusting her comms after finishing adjusting the settings for the turrets on board Vera's ship the Tusken reported in, "Rhax'ra here; turrets ready." Due to inexperience in regards to this kind of scenario Rhax'ra had no idea what strategy she can suggest.

Heh.

If she were a woman of humor, this would almost sound like a joke.
An old lady and a Tusken fly into a base...

Nah, didn't have the same ring to it.

"Hey," she called down to the Tusken. Rhax'ra, wasn't it? They were a hallway away, so she knew the other female could see. A flurry of hand gestures followed.

<<Relax. Man the guns, and give me that battlecry.>>

She gave the female a wink after that, then turned back to the controls, cracking her knuckles.
"Clane, you son of a Bantha. We get out of this, I'll buy you a beer."

She squared her shoulders, focusing back to aerial acrobatics.

"Alright kids, let's blow 'em away."

Clane would laugh over the comms "Make it a few beers and I'm in." The Grimlock would begin its approach, dipping down beneath the astroids. "Rave, prepare to fire." he'd say off the comms before switching back. "Coultier, hit em where it'll hurt. I'll draw fire." There was only one thing Dusty disliked about the Grimlock: It had a fixed position cannon. Made bombing runs rather hard to do without a proper way to do it.

Just as intended he swung low, and sure enough, enemy batteries would open fire on the Grimlock. Rave would scream in a series of whirs and beeps as it began to open fire on enemy positions. "Alright, Coultier, you're up!"

Rhax’ra looked down the hall to the other woman.. what was her name again? The Tusken silently pondered then remembered the woman introduced herself as Vera.

The Tusken nodded, making a gesture of her habds to say, "Yes, comrade.". Turning back to the turret controls she waited for what would be the cue for their attack to begin before giving out the famed Tusken battlecry that Vera asked for. Who knows it may bring them good luck during this mission.

Gripping the turret controls the Tusken now tuned in to her warrior instincts to carry out her part. Her eyes scanned what she can see out of the window waiting for something to shoot at.

Coultier?

She gritted her jaw at the mispronouncing of her name; would it kill them to just call her Vee? However, at Rhax's battle cry, she laughed out loud, pulling her fist into a pump and giving a wide, bitter grin.

"That's the spirit! Let's kark 'em up!"

They had been mostly lying low and quiet, but with the Blackfin whistling in with the Grimlock countering, it was gonna be a hard fight, not to mention maneuvering through the difficult asteroids. Almost on cue, three shapes began to beep up on her map, and she cursed quietly, flipping to a private channel to Clane. "Three inbound at ten o'clock, knock 'em out before we're out of the fight. Rhax," she called down the hallway, "look pretty and aim, we've got company."

Corran really needed to stop asking corporations for donations. The Sector Rangers were out here, at their request, and whenever he asked about using their equipment for their problems, some scrapheap was tossed into his lap. Rylee Asuchi was right; he'd have to buy a starfighter. The current model that carried the Lieutenant's optimistic rear was a Z-95 Headhunter. Company symbols had been crudely scrapped off to 're-designate' the craft as 'independently-affiliated.' More like the Suits at the top didn't want any pirates discovering who sent trouble their way should the Rangers fail. It was better than a Y-wing or D-wing, at least.

The asteroids were sparser here than elsewhere in the massive, mineral-laden field. But not by much. A Ranger unit had already been dispatched to follow-up on the accidental discovery of a raider station. Lieutenant Velt was late for the party and hoped things hadn't gotten too hairy. The Z-95 weaved between rocks with noticeably improved skill all in order to get clearer sensor readings on the situation. Three red blips were closing in. The friendly blue blip and its associated ID tag forced the blond ranger to double-take. A knowing grin dawned on his face. "That salty, old bat..." he said aloud, impressed.

Like a rusted dagger sharpened on the edge, the Headhunter cut through space with increased urgency. Gloved hands flipped a switch to join the Sector Ranger comm-chatter. "Vee," Corran began with some teasing in his voice, "Why is it I always find you in a dogfight?" Normally 'Ranger Coulter' would have been the preferred designation, but the long-lived Ranger about bit his head off last time he tried to be formal. He'd never seen her face-to-face to make that threat possible, luckily.

Twin red bolts belched from the starfighter's wings as it roared into the fray. Sudden aggression caught the three pirates off guard and disrupted their fanged attack on the Jaws. One peeled off with Corran in pursuit through the debris. The other two, jostled but still together, kept on their original target. "Let's light them up!"

Hearing beeping from her map, and that from Vera's naturally caused the Tusken to look at the small screen. And sure enough just as Vera saw three shapes on her screen. Rhax’ra saw three on hers.

Then three changed to four.

Well unlike Vera's map where it would have shown Velt's marker as a friendly, Rhax'ra's doesn't. Well she doesn't think it does, "Uh.. comrade is the ship friend? Or do I shoot this one too?" She asked as she moved the turret around to take a look at the newcomer.

Then the newcomer addressed Vera directly, "Nevermind.." Rhax'ra mentioned as one of the three pirate ships burst into a ball of fire. While the Tusken expected the remaining two to scatter they remained steadfast. Aiming for the one on the right she fired a volley of shots. Two missed but the third damaged the wing of the enemy ship. The fourth caused it to explode.

Now the third pirate started moving in a zig zag motion. While Rhax'ra was still able to keep the ship in her line of sight it does make it difficult for the inexperienced Tusken Raider to get a successful shot at it. Proven as her next volley of shots completely missed. For now though it prevented the pirate from getting a shot at Vera's ship.
