Thread: Legends of the Hidden Temple

I'll just copy the dice rules here for convenience:

100: Critical success.
81-99: Rousing success. Everything goes better than expected
51-80: Success. Everything goes as planned
26-50: Barely a success. You succeed in your end goal but take some sort of negative in doing so
11-25: Mild fail, fail with some minor consequence
2-10: Major fail, fail with more serious consequence
1: Critical fail.​

An automaton approaches through the opened door. Kori's first instinct is to shoot her heavy stun/EMP pistol to see if it would even affect the automaton. Apparently it does (87), stopping the ancient machine... but only for around 10 seconds or so. After that, its power core would reactivate, requiring a couple more shots like that at least.

Beedee moves to distract the second temple guardian. A follow-up should be safe from injuries due to failure.

Nara moves to try and finish the guardian in front of her. And she messes up big time.
Edit: thinking about it, seeing as the guardian near her is not at full strength after Kori's attack, I'm thinking Nara gets whacked aside, gets firmly injured but slips up in revealing that she's a Jedi with her saber.

Korsak tries to pick up Nara's lightsaber and slash the weakened Guardian so as not to give away his powers or red lightsaber.

Making a few dice rolls in advance. That way I'd know what to work with by the time I get back home.

1. BD has drawn the attention of the second guardian. There is some time before the first guardian hits Nara and "Beldan" (Korsak) goes for her saber. Kori uses this time to take a shot at the second guardian.

Success (55). Although the second guardian isn't disabled (it'll take 2 or 3 more shots like that), it will be delayed for a couple of seconds.

2. Kori's attention is drawn to the commotion behind her. She interferes in the fight with the first guardian. The first thing she'd do is to try and take a shot at it.

Mild fail (24). In the darkness, Kori misses the shot at the guardian. It lands on a wall, slightly off the guardian's head. Now the shooting Zeltron has become the most dangerous entity in the room, and both guardians turn their attention to her.

3. The first guardian starts firing blasts of energy at Kori. Can she create a "shoot & dodge" diversion to give her companions some time or an opening?

Rousing success (82). Kori manages to dodge the blast and even lands a shot. But as this action is more difficult, it's fair to say that the shot doesn't hit the power core (unlike the previous rousing success). It just delays the guardian for a couple of seconds, bringing it closer to shutdown (1-2 shots or a well-placed lightsaber hit or zap).

The first and the second guardian will attack Kori next turn, unless dealt with.

Beedee to the rescue! He manages to take the attention of one of the guardians again, but broke his stim dispenser.

Okay so now Nara's been stabilised, can she start to sort this out?

Well... damn it. The rolls really aren't with me at the minute. She whiffs badly and attracts attention to herself. Manages to break her blaster too.

It falls to Kori to take out the 2nd guardian. This time I'll just do one roll.

Mild fail (12). I'm thinking a hit that makes Kori drop her blaster, but which she could recover from.

Time to get dangerous.

Beedee takes a second whack, compounding the damage to moderate levels. But we only need one more hit!

Judging by how my last rolls went, I don't have much hope, but here we go. One last shot for the injured-est Jedi.

Rolling for Kori's lightsaber+Force attack on the last guardian.
Since the lightsaber+Force attack is a success, it would make sense for Kori to finish off the automaton this turn. But it might be too soon, so I'm adding an extra roll for the automaton's retaliation and Kori's saving throw.

Nara is gonna try and stay in some level of consciousness and help them withdraw.
