Vale's shots didn't fully find their mark but they were able to at least cause some damage. One of them caused a burn across the Jedi's arm and he would plan on focusing on that later until the Jedi would barely be able to lift his arm. The disruptor shot also hadn't found its mark and that was a little disappointing as it could have ended the battle very quickly right then.
Vale's first instinct was to charge right at the Jedi with his beskad. He had spent years training with the weapon and here was someone who would be a match for his hand to hand skill. But the Mandalorian had heard about the stories of Jedi and the trickery that they employed on the battlefield against their opponents. Vale wasn't going to allow himself to be one of the people that fell for their force tricks, so instead, he lowered himself into a more of a crouched position with his blade resting horizontally in front of Vale's mask, waiting for the Jedi to make the first move.
