HDW KIT

Across the galaxy, scrappers, miners, and others workers undertake dangerous jobs in inhospitable conditions, with little more than their wits, and their own 'Heavy Duty Worker' Kit to keep them safe. Well, safer. HDWs are created from a wide range of materials and individual items of gear, and then put together by their owner (or the company employing the user), and therefore the appearances of these items can vary enormously. However, in order to officially meet safety requirements, they must have a set of heavy-duty gloves, a facemask and goggles with breathing apparatus and filter, alongside heavy-duty covering for the entire body. Boots must be added, and it is encouraged (although not required) that they are magnetised.

Once assembled, this kit enables workers to delve into ship wrecks, asteroid mines and industrial zones with reasonable ease. As long as they keep their wits about them, they might even make it out alive. It is quite common for these kits to be partnered with a heavy all-weather poncho.

LEGALITY

This kit is entirely legal, and very easy to get hold of.

INTENT

To create a set of 'workers clothes', seen in Fallen Order and other material.

RESTRICTIONS
N/A

Type and Coverage

Type: Medium Armor

Coverage: (Coverage regions for Light armor is 1-3 regions, Medium is 4-5, Heavy is 6-7)
  • Head: A removable helmet, enclosed and fashion from duraplast.
  • Torso: A lightweight reinforced duraplast plate covers the torso.
  • Back: A lightweight reinforced duraplast plate covers the back.
  • Upper Arms: None.
  • Lower Arms: Duraplast or similar material covers the lower arms and hands, normally in the form of long workers gloves.
  • Upper Legs: None
  • Lower Legs: Duraplast plates or similar cover the lower legs.

Functions

Function 1: Rebreather
  • Rebreathers, whether built into a helmet or a separate mask, allow for the wearer to breath underwater or in space for brief amounts of time by scrubbing CO2 from their exhaled breath and recycling it. Generally this lasts for up to 5 posts, but heavy exertion can shorten that time.
Function 2: Thermal Undersuit
  • Thermal undersuits wick away or reflect thermal energy for brief periods of time. They are not nearly as effective as a suit that firefighters would wear. Most commonly used to protect soldiers from flamethrower weapons or short bursts of extreme heat or cold, and are only good for 1-2 posts of exposure depending on intensity. They are useless against blasters.
Function 3: Filter
  • Filters are bulky attachments to a helmet, or function as part of a mask, that filter out environmental contaminants such as smoke or most toxins. They are susceptible to caustic substances and damage.
Function 4: Mag-Boots
  • Magnetic boots contain electromagnets in the soles and allow for enhanced movement on ferrous surfaces in microgravity or steep gradients. This functionality must be turned on or off manually by a button or switch.
Function 5: Environment Suit
  • While it is not rated for extended exposure to extreme hazards, this body suit (when combined with an enclosed helmet) can protect the wearers body from the effects of environmental and weaponized toxins and similar hazards for up to 5 posting rounds.

Some of these aren’t compatible with force sensitives. Don’t know if your character is but other people that want to us this should know they can’t use magboots with force powers
