Vizim continued to attack the Noghri who had been caught off guard, and as they began to flee, he drew his pistol and fired. He struck and killed two of them including the one that Zana had injured, intent on not letting any of them escape. He was about to spring after them in pursuit when he heard her speak to him.

His saber snapped out and he glanced back at them, debating continuing to pursue anyway. It was likely the wise course of action. Letting them rally would be worse for the duo in the long run.

They're cannibals, and if we don't stop them, they'll be back, come on! he said, not waiting for an objection.

If we don't deal with this, they'll all be dead before we can find them! he shouted back over his shoudler... why was he sure she wasn't going to be following and was going to be objecting...

“I..” Zana began quietly in protest, but she knew he was right. Cannibals??? She felt a chill run down her spine. Being Jedi didn’t mean allowing indecision to stall progress or not solving a problem. In the end, the twi’lek nodded and began to follow after Vizim. She told herself it was because they were likely to hunt down the passengers that scattered.

Zana spotted one Noghri scurrying away. As soon as he realized he was being followed, he began to charge at her, and this time she swiped her saber across his chest. The Jedi clearly knew when to be lethal, and there was no opportunity to talk things through. Between the two of them, the remaining Noghri would be cut down before ever regrouping. This left them in a clearing away from the passengers with nightfall rapidly approaching.

“We need to find a way to get the people out of this forest,” Zana said, switching off her blade, “We can’t have the cannibals getting the jump on us.”

She began to trek back towards the crash site, entirely oblivious to the fact that Vizim had already cleared out the village.

They cleared out the remaining hunters, and Vizim was ecstatic that he hadn't had to argue with her about actually fighting or killing them. The job was done and it was done quickly and efficiently, allowing her to get back to all the idiot civilians that had scurried off. Maybe they'd have already been eaten or something and the two wouldn't have to deal with them anymore.

He didn't correct her about the village and the cannibals. At least they'd be getting the people moving...

Not sure how much luck we'll have actually getting out of this jungle. Pretty sure the whole place is a jungle, he said. He could only hope that someone had radioed out before the ship went down, but with psycho droid in the copilot seat...

Any luck figuring out who would have wanted to put the ship down? he asked, wondering if she'd done any investigating while he was gone.

They made it back to the crash and he looked around. Somehow Doris had managed to survive, and Vizim had to wonder about that.

We should head for high ground. There's a tall... hill? Mountain? Something or other just to the east of us. That'll give us the best shot, I think, he said, waiting to see what she thought before starting to get people going.

Alright everybody. Up! We've gotta get moving! he said, clapping his hands and acting with about all the patience that he actually had.

Zana couldn’t help but agree on the futility of trying to find an easy way out. She walked alongside him, not entirely surprised to see Doris bickering with someone over Vader crisps. The twi’lek shook her head at Vizim’s question, “I can’t imagine why anyone would ever want that,” She said, “Perhaps they knew Force users were aboard and it was an attempt to take us out?” The thought was horrific. That would mean that innocent lives were put in harm’s way just for the sake of them two.

“Let’s go!” She called out after Vizim did, the passengers slowly getting to their feet. They were all whining and complaining about various things but they began to move. Zana fell into step beside Vizim, silently walking for a while. After a moment, she turned to smile at him, weariness on her face.

“Thanks for helping out,” Zana said quietly, “I think I would’ve struggled quite a bit without you,” She admitted out loud, “It’s really great to see Force users out there that do the right thing,” She sighed, “Seems rarer and rarer these days…”

There was a hill up ahead that would provide them a decent vantage point. Zana began to climb, helping the others along. None of them had exactly dressed for hiking. At one point, a woman in a tight dress and heels walked up to Vizim. She was quite attractive and dolled up.

“Hey, you look strong and fit,” She said, “Any chance you’d give me a piggy back ride?” She asked sweetly, twirling a strand of hair, “I’m realllyyy light and just look at my shoes. I’ll slow everyone down!”

Vizim mulled over in his head what she said. He supposed it made sense. Even from a math perspective, taking a ship down you were killing a much higher proportion of Force-users to non-Force-users given Jedi and Sith were outnumbered trillions to one.

Not very efficient since neither of us is dead, he said as his final evaluation on the topic.

He walked beside her as they continued up the mountain, eyes continuing to sweep around and to the observant betraying his near-paranoia. That village couldn't have been the only group of locals here.

When she mentioned him "doing the right thing" he was once again confused and realized just how sweet of a person she was. He was about the furthest thing from what most people would classify as "good" as it came. Granted, most people had a pretty skewed definition of "good" but that was neither here nor there.

I'm just trying to survive. If you're wise, you'll do the same, he said before relenting after a moment.

You sell yourself short. You did a good job back there of defending yourself and not hesitating when the fighting started, he said. He knew she'd been trained as a Jedi, but he didn't know how many times - or if ever - that she'd been in a fight before.

Lotta people freeze up their first time. You got the job done, though, he said.

She pulled ahead a few minutes later, once again helping other people while Vizim stood watch. How had he turned into an idiot shepherd? A rather attractive woman came sauntering up to him as the others were climbing and his mind raced through several things.

I certainly wouldn't mind getting some alone time with her. But is she really going to do that? Probably just a tease. Not to mention it'd tire me out if there's another fight.

His gaze followed down to the shoes she mentioned and he held his hand out.

Let me see your shoes, he said. She hesitated but turned them over after a moment and before she could register what he was doing or stop him, he snapped the heals off of both and handed them back to her.

You should probably dress more practically in the future, he said, though who could have predicted this. Still, those weren't really "travel" clothes.

I'd rather get with the twi'lek girl anyway. She's cute and much more competent, he thought to himself.

He hoisted himself up on another rock and looked out to the area beyond. He saw nothing but jungles as far as the eye could see and swore under his breath.

He moved over and poked Zana, motioning for her to come over to him so they could discuss something privately.

We need to start considering what we're going to do if there're no spaceports or anything on this planet, he said. High ground might get us spotted by rescue ships, but that could be days from now, he said.
