Yeah, I don't really see him as a good fit either.

I saw a thing earlier today putting James Franco, Christ Pratt and Ryan Gosling (loooooool) as the potential frontrunners. But it was just an article on the internet, so it's all made up anyway.

Yeah people are just reaching into their grab bag of leading men so they can write clickbait articles on that one.

My preference for awhile has been Sam Claflin. Someone also mentioned Taron Edgerton, who would be a really good choice too.

Also, you said Christ Pratt looooooooooooool

If Chris Pratt went to play a young Han Solo, and then went to play Indiana Jones, then I'd hope he would be the new Rick Deckard later on.

Sarcasm, of course, but I'd hope you'll see what I mean.

If they were to cast a new Han Solo, why not an unknown with potential? Same with maybe a recast for young Boba Fett and hell, why not a young Lando?

I caught that but you quoted me before the edit. y u do dis :(

I think Anthony Ingruber would be a good choice. He's already played a young Harrison Ford and he's a relative unknown with some decent skills.

Ingruber is a little too spot on, to the point where I'd be worried he'd just do a Harrison Ford impression. That is, after all, how he got famous.

I'd rather see someone who is for sure a great actor and can really do the part justice. This is the type of movie that can destroy an icon, and they need to be really careful how they go about it.

Agreed 100%with bac, no matter how good the movie is outside of Han, if the guy who plays him is off it kinda ruins the whole thing imo....

The only reason I came here is to say:

HAN SHOT FIRST.

Indeed, and I would imagine Lucasfilm knows that as well. Hayden Christensen received mixed reviews as Anakin Skywalker and that fundamentally altered how a lot of people looked at Darth Vader, and I don't think Lucasfilm will want to risk that with Han Solo. They'll be very careful.

I'm actually a pretty big fan of both of these options. I can really see Egerton pulling off a rough around the edges young Han Solo meeting Chewbacca and going off on a whirlwind smuggling adventure (especially if they involve the EU origin with the time spent with the Empire.)

Kinda iffy on young Han Solo with a British accent though... not sure if they can pull a Hugh Laurie on the voive

Presumably a British actor would use an American accent, of course.
