Ownership: N/A

Intent: To provide the Mando's, and at some point its allies, with a stealth ship that can land and support Covert Operations on the ground. Its basically a space U-boat in idea.


Model: Galactic Solutions Industries/Elthar Security Solutions Phantasm-Class Covert-Ops Corvette



Dimensions: L: 180m, W: 62m, H: 34.5m(from lowest point to top of tail)


Class: Corvette


Crew: x6 minimum (Helmsman, Navigator, 2x Gunners, 2x Engineers) x20(normal), x40 (Suggested, 2 shifts)
note: Can be crewed by 2 like the CR-90 but at very diminished capabilities.

Complement:
Up to 2 platoons of Marines/Soldiers/Passengers (80 personnel)
x2 armored vehicles (APC or Medium Tank) or
x1 Dropship (no larger than 20m)

2x Twin-linked Light Turbolaser turrets (concealed, Dorsal and Ventral)
4x Dual rapid-fire light Laser turrets (Concealed on front of wings top and bottom, Anti-fighter)
2x Triple torpedo tubes (Any type of torpedo can be fired, has special air pressure system to dumb fire torpedoes)
4x point defense anti-missile lasers (similar to Crusader Gunship)
1x Mine layer (can be replaced with heavy missile rack, or expanded carrying capacity adding one additional squad and either one more tank or making room for a second dropship)

-Advanced Sensor Jammer (not normally used in stealth running)

Maneuverability: Due to the lighter armor, the ship when running "Loud" can be maneuverable for a corvette while maintaining good acceleration and speed. Running "Silent" the ship is much more reduced in all aspects as the ship has to keep the signature down as much as possible


Stealth: The overall ability of the mass array of stealth systems is to mimic the effect of a proper cloaking device. While the ship is not able to hide visually, it is able to mask itself invisible from all but the most determined and detailed scans; as its signature is very small and is usually written off by the scanner as a glitch and never gets passed to the operator/s. The best way to detect this ship is if it activates its jammer or if it gets too close to enemy patrols due to the ships large size for a corvette. For best results the ship has to be ran at or below 1/2 speed with the shields off. Running over 1/2 speed will result in most of the systems unable to mask the large wake and unique signature of the ship rendering all of the equipment useless. If the Shields are on, even with the Rever and Particle Scatterer active it will make a much larger signal then without making it much more likely to be picked up by scanners. The jammer will send out large amounts of false targets and marks on all ships that lack a higher-end ECCM suite. This can also spoof missile guidance as well as auto turret tracking making gunner and pilot skill the most effective way to hit the ship while it is active. This can be used while running "Silent" however the downside is it has a limited range and will feel sensors with tons of false reading making it obvious that the ship is present.

Description:
Elthar Security Solutions had been wanting to for some time and finally got its break as another manufacturing firm was seeking other firms to try and help them develop a loose idea they had. After doing the initial drawing and designing ESS needed to find a ship manufacturer to help them make sure they hadn't missed anything. While looking for a good contact the came across GSI. Together GSI pointed out several of the flaws of the design and the once great giant guided them along.

The result was the Phantasm Covert Ops Corvette. The ship is designed to head in before major attacks and deliver pathfinders and covert operations groups planet side, sabotage space lanes, or set up for long range bombardment of targets from directions the defenders would not expect. The main weapons of the ship are the soldiers it carries along with the torpedo tubes and mine layer. The torpedo tubes do have the added feature of firing the torpedoes armed but without firing its engines, instead using a shot of compressed gas to dumb fire the warhead towards the unsuspecting target. While in no way effective against moving targets it can be very effective against stationary objects. While it is armed with energy weaponry the guns are only there as self defense and meant to keep ships and fighters away as it takes billy big steps away from danger. Relying on its shields, systems and powerful engines to keep it safe until it can make its jump to hyperspace.

The ship is able to land on the ground and can act as a Support Location for the operatives it drops off acting as a FOB/FARP for the units on the ground. The hold of the ship contains an armory that can be filled with almost any mission specific weapons they will need as well as having space for either armored support vehicles or dropship/gunship support as the mission requires. When not on ground the ship is also used for waiting around gathering intel on enemy from locations of patrols to the type of patrols to even what they are saying given enough time. They can also be sent in ahead of time to wait for their chance to pounce once the battle is in full swing. Standard practices can have these ships either as lone wolves hunting prey and getting ready for the attack or working in packs to secure objectives that otherwise might be too risky to take on whether on ground or in space.

Yes it is on the ugly side, but it looks the most Star Wars, its the wings and the dorky fins.
