so i was hoping we wouldn't have to use this thing but unfortunately i have a little bit of a problem with your post. no where in your previous posts do you mention the blaster being holstered, and especially holstered into a postion that's also strapped to her thigh. in post #4 your descriptor of the blaster's location is this:

She knew her blaster was there at her belt

this reads as simply the blaster is clipped to her belt or something of that nature, definitely not in an elaborate holster. you can't just decide that the blaster is in a strapped holster and nullify my attack entirely.

if you'd had a problem with what i had written you should have brought it up before jexz posted and we could have discussed it at that time. since jexz posted, he confirmed my attack as happening the way i described it. so that is what you'd need to react to/defend against. you can't simply erase the action with convenience.

not to be this guy again, but tbh i find it hard to believe geal would have the time/wherewithal to do all of those things while she is still mid fall. the timing (as i read it) is like this:

cami attack's geal while she is still trying to destroy her blaster.

this would put the decap attempt timed up with geal slashing her own weapon

this might give you time to raise your arm, but the rest of your post would have to be happening in the scant seconds before she would hit the ground. i dont think that's really possible. she'd have to

1. activate dual phase
2. somehow manage to get into a striking position with the elongated blade
3. attack

all before hitting the ground. geal is in a very precarious position, has a giant blaster wound in her thigh, and is attempting to use pinpoint timings and concentrations to pull of the maneuvers you described. i just dont think it is a realistic defense.

Ah, I got my timings wrong, I thought the attack came just as the blaster was sheared in half.

As for the strike itself, it's not really an attempt to be precise or get into a striking position, it's literally just Geal swinging her arm back towards Cami after destroying the blaster hoping to hit something, which I figured she would given their proximity.

I figured the saber would just be hanging there under her arm since she stabbed her blaster, which was on her belt beneath the left arm.

I actually envisioned her on the ground when she swung, so I apologize for not making that clear.

I was also under the impression that activating dual phase was as simple as pressing a switch.

Conflicting thoughts? Facts? Am I being an idiot here? :)

you are right about activating dual phase just being a switch, but hitting that switch does take time - even if its just a second or half.

geal's saber would have been pointed downwards to slash her blaster. she would then need to activate dual phase, and then move her entire arm up (almost would have to swing it entirely over her head) something that also wouldn't happen instantaneously.

its not that what you did is impossible, its that the timing of this specific scenario is what is making it impossible.

a quote from your post where the idea of this occurring "mid fall" is coming from on my end

her saber coming up and slashing it to bits mid fall.

so based on that, cami would be attempting her decap while geal is in mid-fall as she timed it to when geal was slashing the blaster. quote from my post:

Cami would be within striking distance of Geal while the Jedi's lightsaber and attention were occupied by destroying the blaster on her thigh.

so all of your post after the bracer-block would be happening "mid-fall" which just doesn't seem like it would be possible.
