Yossk had decided that he needed to be conservative with this, and the Gladiator-class Star Destroyer sadly had to roll up next. He knew he could not spend all of his budget at one point and had to set a budget for each lot. This would be one of the best ships they could get, but there was another one Yossk knew would be quite successful in the Dosh fleet.

His teeth were gritted, a credit rolled between his claws. It was either this one or the other... and the other was ultimately the better choice. His price point for the Gladiator would not be high, so he lowballed the bid. Now he would wait to see if he would somehow win, yet he knew he wouldn't.

OOC: Remember that only winning bids are deducted from your pool!

Gem watched as the final seconds ticked down for the Gladiator-Class Star Destroyer, mentally trying to calculate his cut of the profits. While not as close as the CR-90s, it appeared that the capital ship had brought the most competitive bidding thus far, with several viable offers made. Godric Mond (@Nefieslab) would be the winner, though, receiving a notification of his bid's success as Gem stepped forward to announce the next Lot.

"Thank you, thank you!" he beamed; unable to contain his happiness at his ever-increasing payout. "Our 5th Lot has a reputation for its exceedingly tough nature, and these ships pack a powerful punch given their size!" Schematics for the Carrack-Class Frigate would pop up on bidder's screens, prompting them how much they wanted to bid for three (3) of the ships. He was confident that the features of the frigates would appeal greatly to the Trandoshan representative in the room, given Senator Rrodossk's aggressive tactics.

The die had been cast and he knew he lost. He flicked the credit across the room and scowled. He just knew that he would not get the craft, he needed that craft. Star Destroyers were a precious commodity in the field of warfare, a staple of any regime or poorer government. Sadly Dosh was in that field, where they did not have much capital to move around. Hopefully soon that would change, but for now he had to make due with mothballed craft or junker fleets.

He needed to turn up the heat, and he pressed the bid up to a realitively high number. Of course it had to be within reason, but these ships he needed. They would be perfect for Dosh, with their heavy weaponry and small crew size. Of course they could be heavily modified, and seemingly easily, which would only make them juicier targets. If all else failed, Yossk would personally lead the mission to capture and contain these vessels. For Dosh, and for Clan Wassak.

Hauron's shoulders sank slightly when he heard that he had not won the bid for the CR90 corvettes. The Mikkian had felt like he had lost on a decent chance at getting some quality ships. But he knew there was no point on dwelling on it for too long.

The next lot was a Gladiator class star destroyer, but that was more than what the badger wanted. The crew required was greater than he could imagine would work for their needs. But maybe there were enough people that could join the fight if only they knew where to go. The characteristics of the ship also did not match with how he felt the needs of the future fleet should be distributed. It certainly had its appeal but there were better suited, faster ships, that might yet show some appeal.

Then again, the fifth lot showed a ship that made Hauron want to make an offer. The ships were big and had large crew requirements, but even if they needed to buy droids to man the ship, the Carrack class frigate would be a real thorn in the side of the Sith. They were certainly fast enough to not slow down the rest of the future fleet.

Oh... oh hells he won!

Godric was very happy to have won the lot and he quickly sent a message for some of his Jedi and alliance allies to secure the ship for pick up using the access codes he had been granted as the winner of the lot. He was eager to make sure that the ship he had secured for the Jedi Order stayed within the control of the Jedi Order - he refused to let some sore loser potentially steal something he had rightfully purchased.

And, as a Jedi Shadow, it was actually rather rare for him to have actually bought and paid for something he needed rather than just secure it from some unsavoury types by way of carefully applied spy-craft and/or violence.

He bought himself a second drink and made a decent enough bid on the Carrack-Class Frigates.

Already he was considering ways to drive up recruitment for the Jedi Order's allies and their own, in house, pilot and crew staffing. They would definitely need it considering the fact that the Gladiator-Class they had just recovered was going to need to be fully staffed to operate at peak efficiency. With the Jedi, their allies and the refugees they had been helping across the Galaxy, Godric was confident that it could be manned effectively with minimal effort.

Victoria felt the familar sting of defeat as the lot was awarded to the quiet fellow she met at the bar. She would begrudgingly continue to sip her drink and prepare a small bid for the next lot, while pondering what type of lot that she might go all in for.

The timer dinged, indicating the end of the bidding war for the Carrack-Class frigates. Yossk would be the winner of the three ships this time around, taking a big step forward in replenishing Trandosha's losses from the costly Ruusan rescue mission (@Olwin). There was plenty more to bid on, however, and Lot 6 was soon available for the attendees to examine.

"Honored guests, the kiliks fight like the CIS forces of old, relying on numbers to overwhelm their opponents. To counter them, you'll need a durable starfighter that was designed to chew through swarms of enemy fighters."

Gem paused slightly to let suspense build up; he could nearly taste the apprehension in the air. "Three squadrons (36) of the legendary ARC-170 starfighters could be yours! Bidding for Lot 6 is now open!" The Clone Wars starfighter had a reputation for its toughness, and while its crew of 3 was bigger than most starfighters it did an excellent job of bringing those crewmembers home.

Well well well.

Old Republic starfighters up next and some of the better ones but his reckoning, though there were doubtlessly some who held little love for the ARC-170. Replaced by the X-Wing in almost every way but still a force to be reckoned with and the newly acquired capital ship would require some squadrons to go along with it. Added to that that the ARC-170 was also equipped with a good hyperdrive, they could be carried in the Gladiator or ride on their own and arrive quickly.

Rapidly response starfighters were the new hotness for a rebellion after all.

He ordered another drink from the bartender, making sure to place his offer on the starfighters as he did.

There was old, and then there was ARC-170 old.

They weren't at the top of the list of vessels that Victoria was hoping to see, but against pirates and their ilk, almost anything with a drive and weapons would be enough of a show of force to get the majority of them to back away without a fight. There was a chance that they wouldn't attract many bids and the FWA could perhaps sneak a cheap win in, but it seemed that there was a little competition for them.

It was time to roll the dice once more and see where they lead.

ARC-170 starfighters were pre-empire which meant they may not have registered transponders. If that was the case then they would be an even more 'blank canvas' to paint on later. But modifications could only do so much for a ship that was over a century old.

They were arguably better than the cutlass-9 patrol starfighters in a few regards and with some modifications they could go toe to toe with more modern starfighters. However they were far from top of the line. Hauron almost wished that there were some X-wings that might become available rather than rely on ARC-170s.

Hauron looked into his holoprojection of the auction proceedings and tried to make out details of the other attendies. Most had already placed some bids but many of them failed to show any sign of 'winning' so far. This made it a bit difficult for the young Mandalorian to get an idea of who might be gaining a fleet at the same time as he was.

The Mandalorian did not have a very high quality holoprojector inside his starship that he was transmitting from. There were only so many other people he could show at the same time and the more he added, the smaller their image got. It wasn't one of those high definition holoprojectors and even if it was, the resolution from being remote probably wouldn't help him at all.

Tapping a finger on his pilot chair's arm rest, he finally decided to place a bid. He was making the bid, not expecting to win. The amount was far less than he had offered for the two sets of corvettes. Thirty six starfighters that required crews of three to properly operate were not ideal either. The worth of the ships was a less than he had even made on the gladiator star destroyer. If there was a chance that he won the ARC-170s he would have to think of a way to put them to use.

The ARC-170s weren't quite as well received as Gem had predicted, and the Bothan realized that perhaps he'd scraped the bottom of the barrel in trying to offer a heavy starfighter that was as old as the ARC was. Although it used S-foil mechanics like the later and more popular X-Wings, finding parts for a Clone Wars-era starfighter was likely a big turn-off for most buyers.

The winning bid was announced, with the ARC's going to a human representing some independent planet Gem had never heard of (NPC A roll: 94). Gem wasn't sure if the man was happy with the price he paid for the Lot, but given the challenges facing the galaxy he apparently felt pressure to return home with something.

Despite the lackluster (in his opinion) bidding, Gem knew that there were still several opportunities to rake in the credits. "Lot seven is one of my favorites!" he announced, glancing over the crowd. "A dozen of the versatile, tough, and maneuverable GAT-12 Skipray Blastboats could be yours!"

Well it was quickly clear that Hauron had not won the latest bid. The ARC-170 starfighters would bolster another attendee's fleet. They were decent starships but he was not too concerned with not gaining the small craft.

The Mandalorian began to wonder if the rest of the ships were going to be small craft as well. The announcer moved on with the proceedings of the auction by presenting a dozen heavily armed blast boats. Hauron looked over the stock specifications of the ship and already began thinking of ways to modify the ships. Even fewer in number than the previous starfighter model from the last lot, they were also slower than the three raider class corvettes that Hauron had already earned.

Underneath his helmet he pursed his lips and squinted at the screen with the details. He only had so much funds remaining and even using a fraction of them on something less ideal than what he wanted could prove a hinderance in one of the future lots. The GAT-12 Skisrays could possibly reach a max speed of 100 MGLT with the right after market adjustments but that could lead to temperamental power distributions. But that was also probably the reason they were being put into this auction in the first place. Still, even if they were not perfect, they might serve a purpose as escort ships for larger craft or make strikes against other larger ships. On their own they could carry a decent amount of cargo and the armament would keep plenty of brigands from making an attempt to pirate what it was transporting. After a few moments of contemplation, Hauron would make a bid on the blast boats, but the feelings about them were the same as the ARC-170s. He was hoping for some better ships in the last three lots.

The ARC's were gone and that was a shame but not one he wouldn't be able to move past pretty quickly in terms of time. Instead he was focusing on a proposal to the engineering team of the Jedi Order and their associated allies - there were some types of Jedi Starfighters that were being made in small numbers by the Jedi and he'd heard decent things.

Decent enough that he might be able to see about them stocking the new-second hand star destroyer being stocked with them?

They just might be.

But, in the mean time, he did know that the blastboats were a sturdy kind of ship and they operated in different ways to capital ships or starfighters. They were the scrappy underdogs who could hit harder than expected and evade major engagements... so he made a cheeky little offer on them.

Victoria was very interested in equipping her home world with quality ships, but realistically she would settle for almost anything with a weapon and propulsion. That being said, the lil scrappers were such an odd look to them and their specs, she couldn't help but wonder how they ever passed the design phase.

Taking the opportunity to order another drink, Victoria accidentally hit the bid button on her tablet. The prompt accepting the bid with glee, much to her dismay. Imagine having to explain that one back to ole Aez if she won the lot this way.

There were less bidders for the Blastboats than Gem would've liked, but the winning bid was a healthy one (NPC B roll: 98) so the Bothan wasn't perturbed. It was a case of quality over quantity, or, as Gem liked to say, profit over participation. Even though there were fewer bidders at this stage, the results were impressive and at least the blastboats went to a fellow Bothan.

"Esteemed guests, there are three Lots remaining!" Gem glanced over the crowd, determined to milk them of every possible credit and look good doing so. "Lot eight (8) contains four (4) of the fearsome Lancer-class Frigates!" An appreciative oooooh sounded from anyone who knew the history of the Rebellion's war against the Empire; the Lancer-class frigates had incredible anti-starfighter weaponry and had very nearly saved the Empire from defeat at the hands of the crack pilots of the Rebellion. Against the Kilik's suicidal tactics of swarming shardships, the Lancers were sure to fetch a pretty price.

Knowing this, Gem increased the timing for the round, giving bidders a few extra minutes to contemplate their decision on this particular Lot.

Lebowski was willing to do just about anything to get in good with the Syndicates. Even if that meant spending all of his hard earned money on something he didn't really need or want. But, Lancer-class frigates would make quite the 'Nice-to-Meet-You' present for which ever Syndicate he joined. He'd already be valuable and it would barely be his first day! Hopefully...hopefully this worked out for the best.

"Sorry 'bout bein' late!" He muttered in a hushed tone as he took his seat and began throwing his credits into the pool. He crossed his fingers, praying to...well...anyone that could hear his prayers that maybe he'd get lucky just this once!

Hauron was not too surprised his low bid was not excepted. The dozen blastboats could have been useful but the Mandalorian would not lose any sleep over them. Instead he was still curious to hear which group may have earned the starships. There was a plethora of organizations attending the auction. It could turn out that Hauron or a comrade would come across a system defense fleet using one of these ships or in turn, be attacked by brigands or some other less pleasant group. The dangerous ships were in circulation and not just sitting in a warehouse some where now.

The eighth lot for the auction was an impressive one. Four anti-starfighter frigates of considerable size were presented and Hauron took his time looking over the specifications. At first the armaments did not seem impressive but that was because they were angled towards combating smaller craft rather than other capital ships. He was still not overly fond of slow ships but regardless he would place a bid for the war machines.

The crew sizes for the ships would take some work to fill out if he managed to win these ships. Not to mention the facilities to service the vessels would take some searching. But when it came to fighting the Sith, the rebel Mandalorians needed all the firepower they could get. They were known to use swarms of starfighters so having the Lancer calls frigates could prove to be a boon in the long run.

Yossk was satisfied with his current haul. Starfighters were good, but the Carracks were the prime target. He secured what he was sent to gather for his planet and now he merely was waiting down the clock. His fingers softly tapped against the table, his eyebrows furrowed softly as he thought. Lancers would be useful, but are not the prime target. He punched in a somewhat low bid and sent it along, he already knew that he wasn't going to win them but he could atleast try to win it.

Victoria felt a surge of interest when the Lancer-class frigates were mentioned as being the next lot up for grabs. They were a classy looking ship and would find an excellent place among the ever-growing FWA fleet that was being assembled. She sat at the bar, enjoying another fruity cocktail, as the timer was extended on this lot due to some technical difficulties.

Whatever, she thought. There was enough time paid on the parking meter to see through the remaining lots anyway, hopefully she would be able to pick up another decent win before the night was out, and she had to return home. Before long the option opened up, and she placed yet another bid, with any luck the others would go too low being cheapskates, and she'd nab a bargain.

Lancers would be a good accompaniment to pretty much any kind of fleet action but they worked best when they were supporting a Star Destroyer or similar. He thought about it for a moment as he savoured the most recent drink he had been handed by the bartender - he had switched to mocktails rather than alcoholic drinks by this point but they were bright, fruity and tasty all the same so he didn't have an issue with it.

Apparently they were getting close to wrapping things up so he made a decision to throw as much of his remaining capital behind the bid as possible. He wouldn't be overly concerned about missing out but they would work well with the one lot that he had managed to secure so far.

Ultimately it would be a boon to the Jedi Order even if he didn't bring back anything else - though he would have very much preferred to have come away with more than just the one ship. No matter how good the ship, it was still somewhat anti-climatic to walk away from such an auction with a lone ship.
