Godric Mand
BIOGRAPHY
When he was ten years old, he began to show signs of consciously using the Force through the use of trial and error - the scientific method at work. His parents, seeing this as a defect they were unable to account for, quietly arranged for him to enrol with the Jedi Order. To his wider family, he was merely shipped away to a fancy boarding school.
During the early days in the Temple and Order, Godric was considered an outsider by many. As a Jedi he learned compassion but it clashed with his upbringing and he ended up coming across as rather cold and detached. When he was moved to a different class within the Temple, Godric chose to lie and started acting like some of the other initiates, specifically picking up traits from some of the more outgoing ones. His instructors picked up this mask - though none of his fellow initiates did.
Impressed by his acting and ability to hide his true emotions in the Force on an instinctive level, Godric was trained to typical Padawan standards before being invited to join the Jedi Shadows and their precursor bodies. His talents were quickly put to use for undercover missions against slavers and other assorted scum - he began spending longer and longer undercover as Godric displayed a, quite frankly, slightly alarming acceptance of cosmetic surgery to adjust his face and body to fit the cover.
His current looks (high cheek bones, blonde hair and blue eyes) were the result of such surgeries to semi-permanently affix coloured contact lens to his eyes, add metallic filler to his own cheek bones and, of course, permanent hair dye. As an Arkanian, he sees nothing wrong with editing himself so radically like this - he has been censured by the Order for asking for more extreme changes in the past.
Though his current looks were designed for an attempt to infiltrate the Hapes Cluster, Godric refused the mission once more research had been done. Instead of being placed into another infiltration mission, Godric was instead placed off-duty as a Shadow. Currently he has returned to the Jedi Order as a whole by way of a "deep space exploration mission".
Personality
It takes someone truly dedicated to dig below just what he likes to project to the rest of the Galaxy as who he actually is. So far no one has either had the insight or the will to truly see who he is beyond the carefully constructed masks. When someone does they will find that Godric Mand is actually a rather subdued person who enjoys companionable silence and doesn't really like to laugh or speak overly much.
