Vendora strode into the light, refusing to squint even though the sun burned from standing in the shadows for so long. She was on the rocky moon of Iktoch, a place that had recently had a surge of gladiator based combat games there. Perhaps it was because of the Empire's more relaxed views on the legality of gladiators or maybe the local Iktochi just really needed an outlet to take their anger out on but, for whatever reason, the games were flourishing in Iktoch at the moment and Vendora intended to take advantage of it. If she wanted to be Empress as her birthright and abilities made her deserve to be, then she needed to be constantly testing her abilities out and making the whole galaxy aware of who she was and what she could do.

These games were an excellent way to do all of that at once.

The arena was a stone structure and circular. The stands were filled with hooting and cheering Iktochi. Inside the arena were eight gates. Vendora had stepped out of one, elegantly performing a complicated lightsaber kata to the delight of the crowd. She had been forced to set her lightsaber on its lowest setting, so that it only gave a pulsating shock to whoever it touched. Similarly, any combatants with blasters or electrostaffs had to set their weapons to their lowest, nonlethal setting. Vendora had a feeling that Iktochi gladiator matches normally had no problem with the possibility of death but her presence had changed that. Nobody on Iktoch wanted to be around if Vendora died in the arena and they had to answer the question of what to do with a dead Old Imperial Acolyte.

As she stepped out of one of the arena's eight gates, a grizzled looking Iktochi man with an eyepatch stepped out of another gate, wielding a vibroaxe. Evidently, he was a fan favorite as his arrival was met with cheers from the crowd. Vendora began pacing, waiting to see who might come out of the other gates and join this gladiatorial free-for-all.

Iktoch was a neutral world, it was close to imperial republic space really close but not under direct rule so when Kruger heard they opened up the gladiator pits the rebel saw it as a good way to make some cash. Being a rebel certainly did not pay enough. And while it was close to sith space no one even knew that there was a rebellion hell most rebels did not even know. So Kruger saw it as a good way to make some cash.

He did not care that it was non lethal all that much, it meant people would take bigger risks so kruger was more likely to win. Not to mention it would still hurt like a bantha kick to face when some one got shot. So kruger let his gear either be switched out for a non lethal equivalent or altered to be only non lethal. Moving down the to the tunnels then to his gate Kruger got ready. In full combat gear though the grenades had to switched for flash bangs the rest was all there.

Kruger stepped out immediately wished his repeater was loaded and set up to be lethal. Maybe he could smash the sith's face in with the training sword he had in place of his vibro sword. Either way while the other show boated on the entrance Kruger acted. He leveled his repeater at the so called fan favorite and fired as he twirled his axe towards the sith. He was blind sided as steam of bolts flew towards the Ikyochian fighter

"You cannot win." Vendora scoffed, though it was unclear whether she was talking about the Iktochi or Kruger. She started walking confidently towards the human with the repeater. The axe wielding Iktochi managed to put up his broad bladed axe to block two of Kruger's shots but the third one hit his torso and sent him to his knees. Laughing with the pride that only being raised as a rich spoiled brat can bring you, Vendora sent a small Force Push towards Kruger. It wouldn't send him flying but it would knock him off his feet if he wasn't careful.

Kruger was a experienced shooter and was in wide legend stable shooting position so the force push though it knocked of his aim did not affect him since the fool with the Axe took two more hits as he buckled over. Never bring a axe to blaster fight.

Switching to the Sith Kruger let rip a barrage of death amming for her legs. The angle of the shot and number of shots would be to much to allow for accurate aimed deflections

Since he was aiming at her legs., it was a simple matter for Vendora to leap up in the air, letting the bolts sail underneath of her legs as she did so. She deliberately landed behind the unconscious form of the Iktochi axe fighter and propped up the much larger man, letting him serve as a human shield. Any bolt would collide with him and not her. She also whipped a grenade from her belt, unfortunately due to the nature of the contest had been made into a non-lethal sticky grenade. Her slender figure hiding comfortably behind the propped up Iktochi, she hurled the adhesive grenade at Kruger's direction. If he didn't avoid the blast, he'd be coated in a glob of adhesive, sticky foam.

Kruger watched the sith jump, bloody sith magic though she was smart and used the other fighter as a shield. From champion iktoch to human shield o how the mighty have fallen. It all so seemed as though both had the same hide. Flush the enemy out with grenades. The two fighters threw grenades all most at the same time giving Kruger enough time to bolt it as the sith grenade exploded behind him. "that would of been a stick situation" he said allowed as he fired towards the sith and her shield. She would let go of him. Either flash bang or her attempt to escape the flash bang. Either way a barrage of bolts flew towards her.

This guy was good, she gave him that. A soldier like that would be quite useful to the Sith Empire and their strength based meritocracy. If he kept fighting like this, she might even offer him a job afterwards. Her grenade went off without tagging him and he ended up throwing one of his own. Not knowing it was a simple flashbang and assuming it was a sticky grenade like her own, she moved the Iktochi (who looked quite dazed and drooling at the moment from having taken so many hits) in front of her, hoping to shield her body from the blast. Since the Human was running in the same direction, shifting to face both the grenade and him wasn’t difficult. While the expected burst of adhesive never came, moving the body in front of her did shield her from the blinding effects of the flashbang but not the sound. Dazed and deaf now, Vendora would have sworn if her upper class upbringing hadn’t taught her such words were undignified for one of her class. Well, she might be deaf but she could still fight. Wincing at the ringing in her ears, she marched the Iktochi forward, still using his body to absorb blaster bolts. Knowing that a repeater like he was using only had fifty rounds before reloading, Vendora kept marching forward, hoping to either bleed his ammo dry or force him into close quarters fighting. The crowd was loving this display, chanting both Kruger’s and Vendoras names. Only a handful of die hard fans were still cheering for the luckless Iktochi.

Kruger smiled if the Sith wanted this fight close he would oblige her. Firing his last bolts it the old champion he drew the blade. It was a dull training sword. It would not kill but boy would it hurt. Assuming crossed guard he waited. The iktochi was in a bad way and probably would need a night in hospital after taking all those hits.

Vendora kicked the Iktochi forward with her boot sending the unconcious former champ hurtling towards Kruger. If he didn’t dodge it, the Iktochi’s bulk would probably knock Kruger off his feet and pin him. Figuring that he’d dodge, Vendora stabbed her saber at Kruger’s torso, figuring he couldn’t both dodge the body and defend against her saber.

Kruger braced and leveled his sword. The champion slamming on the pointas Kruger redirected his flight so that he was now between Kruger vendor's light saber. Even with the blunt edge and tip Kruger could see blood run down the blade. The iktochi was not dead but the poor sap was just not able to catch a break.
With the champion out his way Kruger drew his sword back in a crossed guard in front of him. The crowd had long since stopped calling the champions name. And most where just screaming. No matter who one this fight was worth admission fees.

Vendora raised an eyebrow, impressed that someone of such low birth was able to stay in the fight for so long. She took a step back and swung her lightsaber at the ground, sending a bunch of sand towards Kruger’s face. Then using the same momentum, she sent a light swing at Kruger’s lower torso.

Vendora strategy seemed tailored for fighting those of her kind. Kruger was though had a helmet on his head with full cover. As she moved her blade and set sand his way Kruger moved his blade in and stopped her from drawing it up negating her attack completely as he followed up with a step in to her guard his feet o hers and sent a elbow to her face.

When she saw he had moved his blade in to stop hers, Vendora deactivated her lightsaber. If he didn’t kill his momentum, he’d overcommit and send his blade to the ground. If he did adjust the trajectory, it would take him a second. Either way, it would provide a moment for Vendroa to move backwards quickly away from the incoming elbow and the step in. As she moved backwards, she drew her vibrosword so now she had a weapon in each hand.

“Your move.” She taunted

Kruger sword moved to pin but here was nothing to as he stepped forward he drew his blade back to it guard position as he drew a pistol and fired the blaster sending of the bolts pew pew as he charged her before going for diagonal slash across her chest . If she wanted to hand him the initiative who was he to turn her down.

By now the crowed had gone insane as the fight had become a close range dual of blades. Kruger was smiling under the helm as he pressed his attack hoping to over whelm the female sith.

Vendora laughed as, even one-handed, two blaster bolts were easy enough to deflect at somebody so close to her. Plus he was charging at her. Putting so much into the charge would be hard to avoid two bolts coming straight at him. Even if he did work the impossible and dodge both bolts , she stabbed the vibrosword at him, hoping to finally put the annoying human out of the fight

Kruger moved hes blade to block the first bolt back but again the sith was thinking he was one her kind. He was not he wore armor. The stun round hit the armor plating, a tingling feeling swept through his body but Kruger pushed on twisting the blaster to act as a buckler Kruger wedging the blade under the barrel Kruger used his great strength and leverage to clear the path as his vibro sword moved in a slash for her light-saber weilding arm in a up ward slash either she get hit in the arm or moves it. Either way to true attack from the start would now hit. The body of solder not a sith or there slave lackeys. The 120 KGs of muscle, gear and hatred would slam in to the sith even if she moved in to a block on his chest the light weight Femal sith could stop this bull and the distance was just to close to get out the way.

While his armor did his job and his charge was intimidating, Kruger didn’t actually make a move to block or dodge Vendora’s lightsaber Arab. As such, it went into his unprotected neck area. It wasn’t fatal and would only deliver a stinging sensation but as far as Vendora was concerned, she’d rather proven herself the better fighter with that stab. After all, in a real fight, that would have been lethal. So she had no problem letting Kruger charged into her and sting her arm with his hit. She got trampled but was able to roll out underneath and stand up.

“That was a good fight, Human but I think I’ve won.” She called out triumphantly. Half the crowd supported her claim of victory while Kruger’s supporters were calling for more. It was up to him to continue fighting or not.

The sith failed to move her lightsaber wielding arm as the sword impacted on her wrist in a real fight she would of lost the hand and the blade she held would of not been able to hit him with her hand flying off to yonder and the blade cut it two. But yeah all she would feel is the impact of his dulled blade on her hand probably breaking a finger or two since dulled steel swords still had momentum and weight behind them. It would be a remind that not every block needed to be aimed at the weapon it's self.

As The sith was slammed in to Kruger came to a stop behind her and faced her before removing his helm and held it in one hand and gave her a bow and then one to the crowd. Even with that loss he was sure to make some money out of it and other than a stink on his neck he was fine. The winner in this fight was the one covered in dust, bruises and injury not including the so called champion. But could you even call him a fighter

"i would have to agree, though only due to circumstance. A real sword would of gone through your hand and laser sword"

“Perhaps...” she gave a rare laugh at the man. He really was quite a capable fighter and had for surpassed Vendora’s expectations. She really had to see if he’d consider working for her or at the very least the Old Empire. She had a feeling that they would both walk out of this arena with some more renown in their reputation. The crowd certainly appeared to love them, given how enthusiastically they were chanting both names.

“As you can hear them chanting, my name is Vendora. Look me up on Korriban if you’d ever want a bodyguard job.” she offered. Surely this man would consider it a great honor to work for the likes of her - she couldn’t even consider turning down such an offer if she were him. The luckless Iktochi was now being carried out on a stretcher. For a non lethal fight, he had sure taken a beating.

Kruger had to think for awhile. Being in the employ of the sith might benefit the Galatic Alliance but he could not do it. It seemed wrong though he would not leave it all the way open. The sith empire was at war with it's self and being paid by one side to fight the other was a interesting idea. Putting on his best ass kissing face on he looked at her. "sorry my lady but i am in employment and breaking contract is not some thing one does in my field. Though we are open for employment if you need us for a job" Kruger thought that this had gone well and if the sith hired there enemy to kill sith that would be even better. It was a big risk but only to those that took part and not the group as a hole.

As the poor champion was carried off Kruger took another bow and and followed him "i would see to your hand my lady, i think i broke a finger or two at the end there"
