Born to a moderately well-off family in the Lower City of Taris, Michael Drake lived the first few years of his life in relative normalcy. He was raised with little supervision, as his mother was often busy with her day-job as a waitress, and his father was both a swoop bike mechanic and a fearsome drunk. Though Drake was an inherently inquisitive and well-meaning boy, he lived in fear of his father's drunken tirades and frequent beatings, and hatred grew within his heart. During the day, he'd go to the starport and haggle the visiting spacers for their stories of adventure. One spacer in particular, a Corellian man named Ulysses Sato, grew fond of the boy, and told him his tales whenever he docked at the Tarisian starport. Likewise, the impressionable Drake grew to trust this man as a pseudo-paternal figure, and eventually told him of his father's misdemeanors at home. Angered by the news, Ulysses went home with Drake that night, and savagely beat his father when he returned home, before taking the boy with him back to his ship. Once there, he offered Drake the opportunity of a lifetime: go and work with him, or remain on Taris. To Drake, the choice was clear, and the duo took off into the stars.

As it turned out, Ulysses was a smuggler and an outlaw, and he'd just lost his first mate to bounty hunters. He was a wanted man, and he'd brought Drake onboard for help, and unbeknownst to the boy, potential leverage in case things went south. Over the years, the two experienced their fare share of adventure, and Drake grew into a capable spacer in his own right. Ulysses taught him how to fly his ship (a stock RB-700 Light Freighter) and how to shoot a blaster, both of which he grew particularly skilled at. His natural affinity for lying and manipulating was something that he learned by himself over time. The two made for a striking duo, with a lucky streak that lasted into Drake's twenties. However, it was doomed to fail eventually. Ulysses had grown old, and wanted to retire, but Drake was still young and hungry for adventure. He gave Drake the ship, and after a fond farewell, the two parted ways forever.

The years dragged on. Drake lost his right arm in a firefight with bounty hunters, and after barely escaping with his life, fled to Coruscant, where he got his arm replaced with a mechanical prosthetic. The woman who performed the operation was named Celina Galahad, and the two quickly fell in love. Their relationship progressed quickly, and soon, they were scheduled to be married, with a child on the way. For Drake, things happened too quickly. He grew fearful of losing his life among the stars, and of repeating the same abusive cycle that his father had imparted upon him. In an act of sheer recklessness, Drake abandoned his pregnant fiancé on Coruscant--an action that he deeply regrets to this day--and continued to live his life as an outlaw.

A complicated man of oftentimes contradictory traits, Michael Drake's personality changes largely depending on his mood. Deep inside, he's a caring, ultimately responsible man, but that part of himself has been buried within a thick layer of abrasiveness. He's equal parts arrogant and charismatic--he's cocky, confident (especially about his appearance), and manipulative, but he's also incredibly charismatic, and on occasion, shows a more cheerful side to his bitter persona. He's heavily sarcastic and occasionally spiteful, and often eschews pleasantries for a venomous statement. On very rare occasions does he let his true emotions show, whether that be an unbridled rage or a surprising moment of melancholy, and usually these occur around people that he trusts with his life.

Drake is a talented combatant and pilot, trained to fly and repair a wide variety of craft, ranging from freighters to starfighters. He's extremely dexterous with a blaster, and a worthwhile CQC fighter as well, especially with the addition of his metal prosthetic. However, he has little experience with military-grade blasters or melee weapons, and would be woefully inadequate with a lightsaber should he ever get his hands on one. Additionally, despite his various experiences in the Outer Rim, his grasp of alien languages is largely inadequate, though he is fully capable of communicating in Aurebesh and Binary.

Born on Chandrila in 6908 BBY to well-off Republic citizens, Kara spent the first several years of her childhood on her homeworld's idyllic surface, receiving a modest education in galactic history, the sciences, and the arts. It had been many years since the infamous Battle of Chandrila, in which the Exiles had seized control of the peaceful world, and the subsequent Recapture of Chandrila, which had seen a return to Republic rule. Her parents still remembered the brutality of the Jedi Civil War, and upon learning of Kara's Force-sensitivity, attempted to hide her away from prying Jedi eyes in fear that her life would be imperiled.

Eventually, however, the ruse failed. As Kara's powers heightened, she attracted the attention of the Order, and was taken in order to bolster the ranks of the diminished Jedi Order despite her age. She underwent accelerated training at the Jedha Temple, and was Knighted just before her 16th birthday. However, despite her technical rank of Knight, she was deemed too inexperienced and reckless to set out on her own, and instead stayed at the Temple to continue her training unofficially. It was during this time that she studied ancient Jedi texts on lightsaber combat, and deepened her connection with the Force.

The versatility of Shii-Cho and Soresu spoke to her. Though they were basic techniques, they favored improvisation and agility over strength, and paired with her impressive dexterity, proved her to be a formidable and unorthodox duelist. Despite that, she also decided to learn rudimentary Djem-So, as the raw ferociousness of Shii-Cho and the purely passive Soresu left her weak to more specialized forms focusing on precision or brute strength. Additionally, she honed her sub-par Force powers into memetic techniques to protect her mind against telepathic assault, and likewise favored the mental aspect of dueling.

When the Sith fleet led by Empress Andraste herself bombed the Jedi Temple on Jedha to dust, Kara was fortunate enough to escape the planet on an evacuating ship, and managed to rendezvous with the other Jedi on Tython. Though she was thankful to survive the assault, inwardly she was bitter that she hadn't seen combat, and disappointed that she hadn't managed to aid in the evacuation effort as much as she could have. In the weeks since, then, the deaths of Knights Jace Tokami, Venatus Phoenix, and Eivor Vivas have rocked the Order. As their numbers dwindle, Kara finally sees an opportunity to push past her inexperience, and finally emerge as a fully fledged Jedi Knight.

Reckless, naive, and somewhat untrusting towards authority, Kara is a somewhat unstable addition to the Order. Though by no means dangerously so, she routinely pushes the boundaries of what is expected of Jedi Knights, and due to her accelerated training, oftentimes shows the gaps in her training with her skewed perception of doctrine. While she is hardly emblematic of the Order's ideals, she has thus far shown herself capable of resisting the urge of the Dark Side, and despite her physical beauty and impressive mastery of lightsaber combat, hasn't shown herself to be arrogant.

Kara is attractive by most standards, with a lithe frame and defined facial features. She's built like a runner or a boxer, with only slight curvature to speak of and slim, wirey muscles. She's an intelligent fighter, oftentimes attempting to mentally discombobulate foes with the Force while simultaneously using her dexterous skills with a Lightsaber to defuse the situation. She's a gifted orator and a skilled negotiator, with a sardonic sense of humor and a debonaire delivery.

Miko Ryder scowled as the harsh morning sun seared into his unadjusted retinas, and rubbed his hand idly over his face. He took a moment to let the heat from the sun's rays wash over him, and let the sound of a gentle breeze surround him. His incarceration hadn't lasted a while - a year at most - but already the sensation of being free, truly free, felt alien to him. All that time lost for a kilo of rylspice, poorly hidden by an incompetent partner as the authorities swarmed their vessel. A wave of frustration washed over him, and he dejectedly kicked a nearby bench before collapsing onto it.

"Kark..." Miko sighed, and tucked his hands into the pockets of his flight jacket. He leaned back into the bench as another rolling tide of frustration washed over him, and left him feeling empty and vaguely angry: the realization that nobody was coming to pick him up. The failure he'd made would've easily been enough to burn all of his bridges in the criminal underworld, and his old crew was either dead or imprisoned. All he had left to his name was a Mynock Freighter, about two hundred credits to his name, and an MH55 at his hip. For now, that'd have to do. It was only a matter of retrieving those things from the impound lot... and there was nobody there to pick him up.

Miko looked around the bar, silently determining whether there were any viable candidates for a job offer. His gut instinct pointed him towards the Elven man in the corner of the bar, whose face looked vaguely familiar, as he sat with his back against the wall and a glass of scotch in his hands. To Miko, there was an inexplicable aura around him - like a vibe that emanated off of him - that told the smuggler that he was a good place to start. After all, when you're a lifelong criminal, you've gotta be good at reading people.

Miko straightened his jacket and ran a hand through his tussled brown hair, attempting to (at least somewhat) maintain a decent, albeit rugged appearance. He reached a hand down into the pocket of his jacked in search of a cigara, but came up empty. By the time he finally found one, it took him a moment to realize that he wasn't alone. A Trandoshan - a large one at that - had approached him at the bar, and was trying to speak to him... rarely a good omen.

The smuggler furrowed his brow at the Trandoshan's question.
"I think you've got the wrong guy. And I dunno who 'Seeth', but unless they're offering a job, I'm not interested." It was dangerous to taunt a Trandoshan, so it was likely that Miko genuinely misunderstood Drussk's broken Basic. That, or his judgement was seriously impaired... which at the moment it was. Both seemed equally likely for the cocky flyboy.

Still, he felt a strange sensation when he looked at the Trandoshan, almost like there was a connection between the two. Miko kept his eyes leveled towards Drussk's own, but internally he wondered whether he'd met the being before, or if it was the spice he'd smoked earlier messing with his brain. He decided to ask. "
Do I... know you from somewhere? You seem familiar." Out of the corner of his vision, he noticed the Cardinal and his men enter the bar, but he was too preoccupied to make a mental note of that. For now, he had to worry about what the hell this Trandoshan wanted.

CELINA GALAHAD: OUTLAW

Anywhere was better than Ajan-Kloss, but Hal Mikko had always felt particularly at home in urban environments. He'd spent most of his childhood in the Lower City of Taris, and later frequented spaceports and shipyards not dissimilar to this one under the tutelage of the outlaw Ulysses Sato. Even through the Force, the city felt more vibrant, more alive even than the jungle ever had, so pulsating with energy that it was almost intoxicating. Almost. Fortunately for Hal, there happened to be a bar right beside him that looked particularly inviting - that would probably get him the rest of the way there.

As he made his way towards the circular bar, Hal couldn't help but muse about his current situation. He spotted a pilot making his way towards an attractive woman sitting across the bar from him. Once upon a time, he'd accompanied Ulysses to cantinas like this, where the cocky smuggler would hit on women, show Hal a trick or two, and then have the boy help him drunkenly stumble back to his ship. Maybe Hal would've ended up like that too, had the Order not found him first. He glanced down at his dark Jedi tunic - not unappealing, but certainly not what he wanted to wear in a place like this - and the lightsaber hanging at his hip. The thing was, the Order had found him first, so it'd be irresponsible for him to get drunk and hit on women.

Through the Force, Hal could literally feel peoples' attention turning towards him as he sat down at the bar, a few seats away from the woman and her suitor. Some of that might've been the fact that he made for a striking figure - after all, he was a tall, handsome warrior with a badass scar, what wasn't to like? - but the more likely scenario was that they had noticed his lightsaber. Great. Attention like that almost never ended well. "Y'know what, let's start up a tab, see where things go from there." he told the Ithorian barkeep after a moment of deliberation. He'd planned on a drink or two tops, but the way things seemed to be going, maybe he'd need a few more.

A world of verdant forests, towering mountains, and pristine lakes, Ibara's location deep in the heart of the remote Red Nebula has ensured minimal contact with civilization for eons. The sky is an impossibly light shade of blue during the day, with the arm of the galaxy clearly visibly even through sunlight. The climate is temperate year-round, and even the more inclement weather is tame by planetary standards. Even the air is naturally breathable, though perhaps oxygen-rich for those accustomed to recycled Coruscanti air. The only blemish on the otherwise untouched landscape is that of an ancient shipwreck, whose hull has since fused symbiotically with nature, and the abandoned fortress built from its ruins.

H I S T O R Y

In the ancient past, Ibara was visited by an expedition team of Jedi wayfarers, searching for answers beyond the galaxy's edge. The planet's location deep in Wild Space, paired alongside its vast array of resources made it the ideal staging ground for an extragalactic expedition. Of course, the explorers were largely ignorant to the difficulties of navigating the Red Nebula, and crash-landed on the planet's surface after being impacted with a micro-meteor. Those few who survived were stranded, and electromagnetic interference from the Nebula prevented transmissions from being sent back to the Order. They were marooned, permanently.

Faced with inevitable death, the Jedi survivors refused to submit to anarchy. Instead, they disassembled parts of their ship, and used it to construct a ramshackle temple carved into the mountainside. They used it to meditate, to channel their connection with the living Force and to study the alien wildlife around them. In time, long after their deaths, the remnant Force energies lingered to create a Nexus, one marked with the echoes of the expedition's brief survival against all odds. Of course, Ibara wasn't rediscovered by the Jedi until around a hundred years before the Clone Wars, when the fate of the doomed expedition was finally revealed to the Order. Though plans to complete the odyssey were discussed, such plans remained unfruitful throughout the remainder of the Old Republic era.

Now, with Rey's newly

When the Jedi Order returned from hiding, a descendent of Imani Sage, Asha, and her Master, Jedi Master Leah Reach, returned to Ifrane and established a Jedi Praxeum to train the next generation of the Order. They found Wyck's holocron hidden in a cave nearby and used the teaching within to restore the Order to its former glory. Though the Jedi would later go on to build grander temples, such as those found on Ossus, Tython, and Coruscant, the ruins of the Jedi Praxeum on Ifrane would remain a pilgrimage location for Jedi Padawans for centuries after the structure fell out of use.

Thousands of years later, a few centuries before the outbreak of the Clone Wars, Ifrane suffered an event known as the Cataclysm, in which an inordinate number of the planet's dormant volcanoes erupted and magma began to seep to the surface as a result of over-mining at the hands of Black Sun, the Hutt Cartel, and even the Galactic Republic. Millions died in the Cataclysm, causing a tremendous disturbance in the Force. The Jedi Order did what they could to evacuate what few survivors there were, but the planet's culture and government perished in the Cataclysm along with most of its ecosystems and animal life. Afterwards, the planet was mostly abandoned due to the poisonous fumes that were blown into the atmosphere, and the only ones who chose to return were Jedi seeking to visit the surviving ruins of their former academy there.

I N T E N T

Ibara is a Force nexus buried in deep space, with an aura of mystery and grandeur surrounding it. My intention was to create a place that evoked a sense of wonder, alongside serving some practical use in the future. For example, the planet could serve as a wayshrine for Force-sensitives traveling in Wild Space, or perhaps a new colony once an expedition is launched.

Hugo Aver is an outlaw hailing from the backwater world of Aduba-3. Growing up, Hugo was faced with two options for the future: become a farmer, or become a criminal. Wasn't even a choice really. From the age of 12, Hugo was taught how to hotwire speeders and swoop-bikes, how to escape the few lawmen on Aduba-3, and later on in his teenage years, how to shoot a blaster.

When he finally managed to hijack a starship, the first thing Hugo did was get as far away from his homeworld as possible. He headed towards Nar Shaddaa, pawned off the ship for a few thousand credits, and went wild with freedom. Drinks, girls of many species, gambling you name it. When his credits inevitably ran dry a few days later, Hugo was devastated, but instead of looking for employment he sought out loans from shady benefactors that he couldn't possibly afford.

It went about as well as one would expect.

Though he's since escaped Nar Shaddaa, Hugo has been in debt to the wrong crowd for the past several months, and has been forced to readopt his criminal habits if he ever hopes to pay off his debts.

Basic Information

Name Hugo Aver
Homeworld Aduba-3
Age 22
Height 5'11
Gender Male
Faction Independent
Force Sensitive No

Personality & Traits

Hugo has a penchant for putting himself in unfortunate situations, and unlike on Aduba-3, pointing in a direction and running the opposite way isn't enough to get him out of trouble anymore. Having learned the hard way that crime in the outside galaxy is very different from that of his homeworld, Hugo has recently made many attempts to fit the dashing rogue stereotype that's expected of his profession, but due to his youthful features and clear inexperience very few take him seriously as a criminal. He plays into such misconceptions often by acting more naive or awkward than he truly is.

Being of such unassuming looks, however, has its strengths. Though few take Hugo as a credible threat, it means the vast majority of beings he meets underestimate him entirely. What he lacks in physical prowess or resources, he makes up for in guile, willpower, and ingenuity. He's crafty, cute, and cunning - three Cs that separate him from the rest of the pack. Of course, being rich, strong, or a particularly good marksman would also be nice, but Hugo's used to doing the best he can with the hand he's dealt.

Though he's reserved in business and combat, Hugo lives a relatively reckless lifestyle in private. Having descended from a rural world, Hugo is fascinated by the wide array of new experiences the galaxy has to offer. He's prone to experiment with vices such as drinks, drugs, and women in a way only a young spacer could. One of his favorite tricks is lying about owning a nice ride, and then leaving in the morning before his "victims" can find out the truth.

HYSIO was born a prince of Ibara, an isolated world on the rim of known space. The firstborn son of Lord Tycho and Lady Alais of House Eranin, Hysio was destined to day rule over the fractured nation-states of his home-world, his sovereignty ordained by the Life Wind itself. His bloodline was pure, his claim of divine mandate, and he wielded the six thousand year old blade "Exile's Bane".

HYUN|[追随者]
Sith Acolyte / Human / 19 Years Old
oMjcHzt.png

HISTORY + PERSONALITY [#FAC51C]
Hyun
is a Sith Acolyte living undercover as a Jedi Padawan. Her past is a lie. Her true mission is unknown.

No records exist of Hyun's life before joining the Jedi Order: no birth certificates, no academic records - not even evidence of previous interstellar travel. For all intents and purposes, she was a ghost within a galaxy of countless trillions. She was recruited into the Order by happenstance, when rumors of a Force-sensitive witch began to spread within the backwater world of Aduba-3, drawing the attention of Jedi scouts patrolling the sector.

The few locals that were questioned regarding Hyun spoke of her as a quiet girl who'd lived in a small village her entire life; an orphan whose parents had abandoned her. Until recently, she'd shown no signs of abnormality of any sort, aside from being a rather sullen child. It was only when the first signs of Force sensitivity appeared - levitating pots and pans, droids short-circuiting mysteriously, and the disappearance of a few local pets - that she began to attract attention to herself.

The Jedi took her in after a brief period of inquiry, fearing for her safety if they were to let her remain in the increasingly superstitious village. She has yet to be assigned a Master.

As a Jedi, Hyun is quiet and somewhat reserved, though not to the point of stoicism. She has some amount of difficulty socializing with her peers, to the point where she seems more vulnerable during social gatherings than during combat.

HwWzzi5.jpg

EQUIPMENT + SKILLS [#FAC51C]
Hyun is a weapon honed by years of brutal Acolyte training. Her prowess does not depend on her physical strength, nor by any particular attribute of her physiology, but instead is reflective of the sum of her training and commitment to the Sith Order. Her attunement to the Force is powerful, yet subtle, and fashioned like a knife to perfect the art of telepathic warfare.

As a Jedi, however, she exhibits about 70% of her potential, making her an average to below-average combatant in practically every regard. Presumably this is done to dissuade undue attention, but in reality her struggle to hide the physical and mental effects of dark-side corruption is a constant battle which requires focus and discipline which could otherwise be applied to combat.
