I would like to put a group together to get some regular Diverse RP's in and was seeing if anyone else wanted to get into that. I've run everything from Marvel, DC, Halo, Pokemon, Harry Potter, and other various threads in the past and found them a fun place to stretch your legs.

Ideally, the threads would be more one shot in length since longer Diverse threads have a tendency to fizzle out eventually. We'd revisit ideas people liked, but things would be kept in a rotation. I'm open to just about any setting.

I'd be interested in doing some diverse rp's, although I may be in too many threads at the moment already. If you do end up getting a group together I'll join in.

I'd be keen to RP most genres - and one-shots work for me just fine :)

Alright, I'll leave this open for a couple more days and then we'll start looking at anything we want to do. Any specific interest in a certain Diverse thread?

I'd like to take part in some, though I'm also trying to avoid overstretching myself. As long as the pace isn't too hectic, I can take part.

Yeah, I would say it'll be super casual. The idea for forming a group would be we could do multiple things just in case not everyone is interested in idea A (A Harry Potter RP for example) others could do idea B (a Pokemon RP).

Got anything you want to do Lavi?

Honestly I'd be interested in any of the settings you suggested (particularly Halo for obvious reasons). But if you wanted suggestions I'd also be interested in a XCOM Chimera Squad type deal. Or just XCOM 2 if that's preferred.

I haven't had a mega itch for anything at the moment. I have been crafting a character to play Baldur's Gate 3 once the early access launches, but aside from that I'm pretty open to what people want to do @Johnnysaurus Rex.

Per D&D if we wanted to do fantasy I could just run people through the campaign I DM for my regular group

Other than that I could run Halo since I know it and it's in the zeitgeist with the game announcement.

I'm game for either a D&D setting or Halo. Would you want it to be intertwined with infinite or would it be set at a different spot in the timeline?

I'd lean towards D&D over Halo - but either would work for me to be honest :)

I'm totally up for either Halo or D&D. No preference either way, but I'll pitch in for one over the other if we need a tiebreaker vote.

For Halo I'd probably keep it to Post 3-Pre 4. Good place to let players play humans and Covenant working together.

For D&D would we want to go for stock D&D or should I write up a full pitch for my homebrew campaign?

Here's a bit I wrote about it for a Reddit thread:
Myr is a world that was formed from the fractured remnants of planes by the gods after an mysterious calamity. This effort taxed the gods so much they had to retreat from the material plane, leaving the denizens of Myr to fend for themselves. Millennia went by and the world endured many catastrophic events (An undead takeover, a war between giants and dragons, and centuries of uninterrupted night to name a few). This has lead to the history of Myr being an amalgamation of historical sources, oral tradition, and some information just being lost. With all these hardships a group of well intentioned individuals tried to siphon god like power from the Abyss and became the first devils, unfortunately releasing demons into the world until they were mostly pushed off the material plane.

The gods finally returned giving gifts to the world in order to try and bring things back to order. One god, for example, gave the gift of the Common language. The current time my players are playing in is a golden age coming off the heels of a conflict where groups of people previously treated as monsters (Orcs, goblins, etc.) have been able to assert themselves and gain the same opportunity as the other inhabitants of Myr.

Technology wise the world has what would appear to be anachronistic levels of development from the long history where civilizations rose and fell. Common amenities like plumbing and lighting are present in large cities and a robust education system keeps things from being feudal for most societies. Firearms aren't common, but not unheard of, having developed to breech-loading (one faction even posses Wild West style firearms). Some nations' tech is fueled by traditional means while others turn to magic to achieve similar results. Airships exist in a small number and are necessary to travel to a floating continent that travels the globe.

The highest observed technology comes from a previous civilization only known as "The Old World" with little being known about them due to structures or ruins seeming to phase in and out of existence with no observable regularity.

If we were to go with D&D I'd rather it be something new than the generic setting, and yours sounds pretty cool. Still lean towards Halo personally.

I'll have a thread up for D&D some time next week with some general stuff about the setting. Not looking for it to be one to one in line with the TTRPG, but if anyone wanted a good resource for the game just shoot me a DM. My setting is basically set up to be a Fantasy Kitchen Sink. So just about any character concept should work. Even if it doesn't we can try to fit it in, I'm not that precious with the world or the rules.
