Hi @Mr. Teatime, @Versok, and @Logan!

I feel like there's been a little passive-aggressive disagreement about the whole thermal detonator thing in our thread, and those sorts of discussions aren't very productive when they happen in subtext. I thought it might be more helpful if we just hashed our thoughts out here and then wrote the story based on what we agree on. Sound good?

Heya @JorusC! I think @Logan tried to get ahold of you via Discord, but this also works.

The tech rules also cover the usage of various grenades, as shown: here.

For ease of the reference, the reason we keep mentioning the thermal detonator having a 5 meter radius is because that is what the rules specify.

"Thrown explosives have a standard blast radius of 5 meters unless otherwise specified- " and "ALL CANON TECH MUST BE SUBMITTED FOR APPROVAL BEFORE USE" together essentially means that the Merr-Sonn VX-20 Class A detonator cannot be used because it is not submitted and approved tech, and the thermal detonator in use must be the generitech version covered in the Tech Rules, which has a 5 meter radius of effect.

Ahhhh, that explains it. Sorry, I had overlooked that part of the rules and was just taking info from Wookieepedia. Well, this is going to be an embarrassing way to die. XD

No worries. Yeah, definitely look over the tech stuff. That said, Salek doesn't have to blow himself up and/or die. Unless you want him to ofc.

@JorusC I'm gonna ask for an edit of your latest post. For reference, the PvP rules: here.

Specifically:

"It is not permissible to have an attack land in the same post that it is written. This is called "autohitting" and is strictly prohibited. Instead, the above attack could be written as follows: "He swung his sword horizontally from left to right, the blade aiming to strike his opponent's neck and decapitate him." In this example the intent of the attack (decapitation) has still been explained, but the action has not been confirmed as having already occurred. This is to ensure that an opponent has an opportunity to counter the attack."

@Mr. Teatime

Gotcha. I deleted back to just when the flashbang goes off. Is that better?

@JorusC

That works I think, but it's more about wordage. Trying to do something to another character vs it reading like its automatically happening.
