The only IC justification I can think of is that he really severely misspoke, and his misstatement had severe consequences.

Mav, and all other congressmen/women, be on the look out for Mav's PC impeachment proceedings.
I'll have the thread up soon.

Also keep in mind that I am thinking of modeling the impeachment proceeding after the US Impeachment Proceedings.

One, the body (current congress members) first pass, by a simple majority of those present and voting, articles of impeachment (in Mav's case it's for the Mando thread...), which constitute the formal allegation or allegations.

Two, upon the above's passage, Mav's PC will be tried by the body (congress).

Three, to convict the Mav's PC, a two-thirds majority of the body (congress) present is required. Upon conviction, Mav's PC will be automatically removed from office.

EDIT: Also, congress members, remember this thread needs your attention.
Thus far, only one member has responded. Let's get to it soon.

That would take forever. For the sake of just getting this over with, I’d just do a straight up or down vote.

Okay congress folks, Mav's PC impeachment thread is up. Per Brandon's suggestion (see above), I skipped the impeachment process, and went straight to step three.

Please post any question(s) you have here.

Since the first reply has already made this common misconception, allow me to clarify it. The impeachment does not remove someone from office. Impeachment means that someone is charged, not convicted and punished. For example, President Clinton was impeached, but he was never convicted and he served his full term in the White House.

You’re voting to convict and therefore remove from Congress, not to impeach. As Padme’s opening post made clear, the impeachment has already happened.

Indeed.

Essentially below is what would have happened, had we went through the three step process.

To save time and etc etc we (IC'ly speaking )went straight to step three.

Out of curiosity from thje Mando faction (Rather, me)...what will this mean for the supposed declaration of war towards us, from the GA's side?

Or rather; Does the declaration of war still stand? And what does the future look like for Mando-GA relations?

I didn't and don't. I will, though, if people think I should. Just wanted to make sure, is all.
Probably not, seeing as the thread has already been commenced. The congress folks are not voting. :/

From a purely diplomatic view point, the Mando would know that the GA congress emissary had/has zero power to declare war on them. That power lies within the GA Congress body as a whole. Not sure if you've been keeping up with the GA Congress IC'ly stuff, but the most recent official declaration of war with the Chiss should give you an idea of the proper protocol.

Mav's character essentially overstepped his power. The Mandos and Holonet's (thought I heard talks of a SNL equivalent skit of this on the board) view of the GA Congress is now one of lack of confidence. The Mandos would probably not entertain another diplomatic meeting after that fiasco.

Mav’s PC IC removal has finally come to a close.

Congressman Cyeon Hunebar’s removal has created an empty spot for the Chairperson of Foreign Relations Committee.

All GA Foreign Relations Committee members will be required to participate in an upcoming thread in order to decide who the next Chairperson would be.

Said thread will be up soon.
