This thread takes place after the event on Ruuusan but before the events on Correllia and Thyferra. Open to all FWA characters

Kashyyyk buzzed with activity. The peace accords had failed, but not in the way anyone had expected; a new threat had emerged that was threatening the entire galaxy. The kiliks and their Joined were on the warpath, having declared war on all of the major powers at once. Such bold confidence, combined with the effectiveness of the kilik's unique tactics, had sent a shock through military strategists everywhere as they scrambled for countermeasures to this new threat. The current consensus seemed to be to hope that the Kiliks didn't strike your planet next... which was of little consolation to the citizens of Kashyyyk, situated not far from Ruusan. Its military, built back up after the bombardment, had been placed on high alert, and a plea for assistance had been sent out to nearby FWA planets to call together a joint FWA fleet to respond to any attacks in the region. Adding to the uncertainty was the more insidious threat; the Joined. There was simply no way to determine a creature's allegiance, leaving many in a state of wariness where there had been community.

The first thing Aezzairrfhowrrhudrrl had done upon returning to Kashyyyk, besides taking a thorough shower (with plenty of Musky n' Husky) to remove the remnants of vomit, was to call an emergency meeting of the Free World's Alliance. The holomeeting would invite not only politicians, but also military officials and strategists who had hopefully had time to take a glance at the tactics employed by the kilik/Joined navies as recorded by the few surviving FWA ships that had made it out.

Aezzairrfhowrrhudrrl waited as patiently as he could, fingers drumming on a wroshyr wood table as various representatives from throughout the FWA blinked into existence, waiting for a quorum. There was much to discuss; potentially making peace with the Sith, responding to the kilik threat, analyzing the failures of the FWA fleet at Ruusan, and more.

Punching out of hyperspace with the subtly and tact of a Summaverminoth with a headache, the Herald of Mordo, a Nau'ur Class yacht, black in colour with pulsating red lights in the viewpoints, and a vast stylised 'M' picked out on each side, arrived over Kashyyyyk. Standing in his private quarters, at the very zenith of the vessel, Lord Mordo, Senator of the distant 'Red Nebula' stared down at the planet below and sneered behind his mask.

"These tree-hugging primitives and their idiotic Senator, Aez -" he went on to completely butcher the pronunciation of the Wookiee Senator complex name "- have the gall to summon Mordo? Perhaps they have seen sense? Perhaps they have finally decided to put aside their obsession for their trees and beasts, and finally industrialize this backwater world so that it might reach its full, potential?" he clenched his fist melodramatically as if to punctuate his sentence.

Of course, nobody was listening to Mordo. As ever, he was alone save for his droids.

"Beep." came the monotone reply from M1-A12, who stood by the door to his quarters and has done for the entire trip here. "Quite correct M1, my pronunciation of the Senator's name was off. Thank you for correcting me." he remarked as the ship dropped through the atmosphere and down to their meeting location.

Mordo was quite aware of what the Free World Alliance wished to discuss today, indeed, it had been all over the news feeds. Some idiotic politicians had willfully enabled themselves to be caught out and effectively placed under attack by a race of aliens known as the Killik. How staggeringly predictable! Mordo would never have fallen for such a ruse!

Of course, the scramble to send a fleet to evacuate the Senators had left the Alliance at even greater risk. Their fleet in tatters, and without an army to support and protect their worlds, the Alliance now wished to discuss, and debate how to change this state of affairs.

Mordo knew what he could bring to the table; he just doubted that the other Alliance members had the vim, nay, the vigour, to see it through.

Stepping away from the viewport, he headed down to the exit and, with two of his droids flanking him, was quickly reminded by his incompetent underling, Ken, that this was actually a holomeeting, and he had no need to attend in person. A little late for that, Kenneth! he thought to himself before making a mental not to have Ken disintegrated when he next had the chance.

Now on the landing pad, he locked eyes with the somewhat perplexed-looking Wookiee guard, and stated simply "Take me to your leader." before holding up his invite.

"Sir, there's a representative requesting an audience" Aezzairrfhowrrhudrrl was informed by an attendant, prompting a confused glance from the Senator of Kashyyyk. "It's the Senator of the Red Nebulas." The Senator gave up trying to unmute himself on the Swoom call to focus his attention on the orderly.

"What does he want?" came the reply, the aged Wookiee scrambling to remember his associate's name. Morbid... Moreso...

"He appears to have shown up to the holomeeting... in person" said the aide. Three seconds ticked by as Aezzairrfhowrrhudrrl processed that statement.

"Did he not see what just happened at the last in-person mass gathering?" the Senator asked, flabbergasted. "Remind the Senator that we're meeting via holo for security's sake. If he wishes to stay on the planet rather than take the call in his ship, put him in conference room 2B."

Charlotte sat on her sparkling throne. A luxurious red dress splayed out around her. The events of Ruusan remained largely a mystery. Reports were scarce, even from the survivors. One tune rang crystal clear throughout…the peace talks had failed. Charlotte nearly laughed at her own joke. Her loyal Chume’doro were busy collecting intelligence. Slowly, they would learn more of what transpired at that ill fated meeting. She drummed her fingers on the throne. The Killik were meant to be lost to history. She did not much care for their return but rather the twist of fate she may be able to manipulate. The galaxy was suddenly at war with a dangerous unknown. They would need resources.

Ships…credits…warriors…all pieces the Consortium had in spades. She smiled. This was a chance for her to seize even greater influence. That smile grew wider. Yes, the galaxy suffered. Charlotte would certainly profit. She flicked on the holorecorder. Her visage popping into the growing meeting. That damn wookie was the first thing she saw. Ugly creature. Too bad he hadn’t died on Ruusan.

“Ah, Senator…I am glad to see you are well and intake after your heroic escape.” Her voice was perfectly polite. Perfectly sweet. Just perfect. The Queen Mother smiled. If the galaxy was going to be overrun by bugs, she was going to have fun. A twinkle of her fingers set the wheels in motion. The Hapes Consortium war machine was in motion. There would be no invasion here.

The last days had been unbelievably rough...she had completely lost track of time, her thoughts had gotten carried away again and again while the remaining symptoms of the heavy concussion enfolded, but there was one good thing after all. The baby was okay and so was she and she couldn't have been any happier when she had received the news.

After their hasty escape from the dome, the blonde senator had barely noticed how they had landed in that Sith shuttle. All she remembered was that Aezzairrfhowrrhudrrl had heroically carried her out and he had even offered to send her right into the hospital on Kashyyyk to immediately give her the medical attention she needed.

The doctors had been great and she was released after a short while, but the words of warning kept echoing through her head. She had to take it easy...she truly had to avoid further trouble at all cost and she she would try everything she could to follow that advice.

Aezzairrfhowrrhudrrl had taken care of her by offering food and shelter and she was more than grateful for everything she did. It was delightful how they had gotten along after those crazy events and she had stayed because they had planned to call an emergency meeting between all FWA senators.

Yet she had also gotten closer to the Senator of Kashyyyk as they had plenty of things to talk about, especially because they had literally left the planet in a Sith shuttle...She now talked into the very chamber where they were supposed to hold the holo meeting and she admittedly felt good. At least much better.

She approached her fellow senator and wanted to slide into the seat next to him, however they were interrupted by a very confusing announcement. So the senator of Red Nebula had arrived...in person!? "That's...odd" she had muttered, slightly shaking her head before Aezzairrfhowrrhudrrl's reply made her chuckle.

She did not see the need to chime in as she was completely sharing the Senator's opinion on the matter of the mode of their meeting as she generally wasn't quite fond of the idea of having new, yet unknown senators join their very room. She had still raised a brow at Mordo's unique entrance, yet she paid it no further attention while she took her place next to Aezz.

"I'm curious to see how where this meeting is going..." she softly said to him before they opened the call, immediately having Senator Le'Anna join them. "Greetings, Senator" she welcomed the woman politely, not at all hinting at the fact that she was slightly wary of the always so perfectly polite woman. She had never met her in person, yet she had never been completely fond of her.

Rrodossk had taken some time to himself. The trip home was awful, but... no. He would not go on thinking about it. His ship was low on fuel and he knew he would not make it to Dosh, so he had to make the landing he knew he would not want. Kashyyyk was as welcoming to him as Wookies on Dosh. The problem is this was there needed to be trust built between the species so this would be it. The pilot punched in the comms and as soon as the proper codes were shared those who would be there would know that Rrodossk needed to be close to his counterpart.

His claws cracked softly on the wood beneath his feet as he stepped across the trees, his heavy frame heaving itself across the intertwined branches as he approached. His form was still battered from the combat, a small stain of dried blood under his nostril. He smelt it with every breath, it drove him mad. The urge for blood after his humiliation would have tipped him over the edge if he was a lesser Trandoshan. Yet he remained strong. He needed to be presentable, confident, and strong. His large form remained silent beyond his footfalls, patiently waiting to be allowed in to meet with them in person. He knew he would have been worse for wear though, it had taken just this long to get here.

After a quick greeting/apology to the Queen Mother (@Valen Pelora), who was perfectly composed as per usual, Aezzairrfhowrrhudrrl turned his attention to the aide that poked their head in for a second time. "Another Senator showed up in person?" he asked the aide, who reacted with a helpless shrug. This was getting out of hand; now there were two of them!

The Wookiee didn't include Celeste Stythani of Rattatak in that statement (@LadyRen); he'd expected her presence next to him in the room. He'd seen to it personally that she'd gotten the best care possible on Kashyyyk after her ordeal on Ruusan. It was a miracle that her injuries had not been more serious, especially when she'd confided in him of her pregnancy. If Aezzairrfhowrrhudrrl had felt protective of her before, when she'd drifted in and out of consciousness in his arms on the way to the Sith shuttle, those feelings were multiplied now. All the more reason to maintain the security of their room. "Put him in conference room 2C" the Senator ordered.

The aide, however, had not finished their report. "It's Senator Rrodossk, sir."

Aezzairrfhowrrhudrrl's head jerked up at the mention of his Trandoshan counterpart, his exasperation switching to relief. This was the first he'd heard of the Senator in almost a day; Rrodossk had been presumed KIA after his ship went down and the following mercenary charge had been met with heavy casualties. "Send him in." (@Olwin)

As far as Aezzairrfhowrrhudrrl knew, he was making history by receiving Dosh's senator on Kashyyyk. It was hardly a good photo op, though, as the Trandoshan looked like he'd just been through not just one but two ship crashes, but Rrodossk was indeed alive. The Wookiee's gratitude at seeing his contemporary alive, however, was quickly replaced by icy professionalism; typical Trandoshan tactics had led to the massacre of FWA forces. "Welcome to Kashyyyk, Senator." With professional obligations out of the way, he was free to say what was really on his mind.

"What the hell happened?"

Rrodossk had his left arm draped over his stomach, still in pain from the catch he had to preform. It throbbed and was swollen somewhat, though others may not even realize it. He was filthy, grimey, and covered head to toe in bruises, scratches, and scrapes. He slowly lumbered into the room, his frame slowly leaning into a seat with a soft hiss of relief. It was more comfortable than the dropship was...

"The... my fleet was sent in. The FWA's remains, but the Dosh assault fleet is next to toast. But it did its job. To begin with, I organized this fleet to deal with pirates and raiders. When these massive fleets showed up I could not wait and had to run in to save as many lives on the ground. We knew we were a small fry fleet but we... we changed strategies. My men gave their lives to draw fire from other fleets and rescue shuttles." He leaned forward, his bloodshot eyes staring deep into the Wookie's (@Aezzairrfhowrrhudrrl) . The Force Sensitive may realize that deep inside they were bloodshot not just from lack of sleep, but because deep inside he was mourning again. But mourning what...

"We draw fire from the key targets they would take, moved to be in key areas to defend them. What I was not expecting was to use all of my men..." He gently cleared his throat and blinked slowly, his hands clasping together as he spoke "... my ships... many of my pets... I am sorry." His eye slightly watered up. It was already swollen, the side of his head covered in a huge bruise. A nasty black eye. His claw moved to wipe water from the eye, yet it wasn't the bruise that was making his eye water.

"In the heat of action, my... vessel went down. My comms were blown out when I was shot down so I could not relay any more orders as I went down. In the heat of battle, mistakes were made. They scrambled up there, if my son was there he would have held better, but he would also be dead. In my stead he stayed back to keep an eye out to defend Dosh. If they did manage to get here, he would have defended the system. Both Dosh and Kashyyyk. Atleast that is what I have been told by one of the pilots." His body leaned back into his seat, head turning back and gazing into the sky. He was tired. He could have fallen asleep there if not for the noise. The noise of his pets perishing by the blast. The noise of his ship falling to its doom. He slowly shook his head and ousted the thoughts from his mind for the moment, he needed to focus on this meeting.

As he and his entourage were swiftly ushered away to a separate meeting room, Mordo took the opportunity to take in the sights of the forest world. He hated them.

Far too much greenery and far too little industry. Already he was drawing up plans to show the rulers of this world what they had been missing out on when the time was right. He could have much of the world covered in factories and pretty much immediately solve their defence problems in one fell swoop.

"Beep." Mordo rolled his eyes behind his helmet as one of his droids relayed the comments of the Wookiees to him. "Of course I saw what happened in their last in-person mass gathering!" after all, Mordo sees all. "Very well, return to the ship." he ordered, as they uniformly turned on their heels, and went back up the landing ramp, which closed behind them with a dull clunk.

After a few minutes, he arrived back in his private quarters and, positioning himself in from of the extensive outline of his own face which dominated the wall, activated his holocommunications suite and entered the meeting. He would enter just after his holocomm presented a large 'M' to the other attendees, which his face seeming to appear from it.

"Senator Ae -" he paused, keen to avoid massacring the Wookiee's name and instead opting for "Fellow Senators, Mordo is pleased to be at today's meeting; you have much to discuss."

Victoria hadn't been back away from Gannaria for very long, but she found that her duties at home hadn't waited for her before they began to build up.

She looked at the schedule laid out in front of her. She had just dealt with a dispute between two farmers where they had each blamed the other for causing a local water shortage. After reviewing some holo footage, paperwork and some clever questioning, she was able to get both to admit that they had both each been negligent in maintaining their irrigation, which had caused both of them to overdraw from the water table. Easy.

Later in the day, she would be meeting with some mining investors who were seeking permission to prospect on the planet. Gannaria was rich in resources but relatively backwards, she hoped that in time and with some luck she would be able to change this.

At the scheduled time, a few familiar faces appeared for their conference, as well as a couple of new ones that Victoria had not yet had the pleasure of meeting. Ruusan was surely the most pressing issue of the day and its impact on the alliance's naval power, but she did hold onto hope that there would be enough time in the day for a discussion on their war with the Sith.

Waiting patiently for an opportunity to speak, Victoria acknowledged those present and introduced herself to those she did not know. "I also hope that this meeting will be exceedingly productive, as the Killik threat we have seen demands action, not just words, Senators. Thank you."

There was still an undeniable, painful buzzing in her head, but Celeste had been overly grateful for everything Aezzairrfhowrrhudrrl and the hospital's personnel had done for her. They hadn't wasted any second before they had treated her intensely, multiple had doctors had consulted about her injuries before they had fixed her up in almost no time.

She could have been in the hospital for days as she had been completely disoriented, but Aezzairrfhowrrhudrrl had soon explained to her that Ruusan had been merely 48 hours ago. The shock and the trauma still ran deep, but Celeste was a professional. The other Senators -expect Aezzairrfhowrrhudrrl- would probably assume that she had made it out mainly unscathed, the several bruises and scratches being the only remains of the rubble that had buried her for a moment, even though the truth was that she had been terribly afraid. It was a miracle that her child was okay and she was overly grateful for the Kashyyyk hospital's fast reactions.

Once they had released her from the hospital, she had immediately approached the Senator of Kashyyyk (@SlagathorTheUnknown) and they had talked for quite a while. She owed him her life, but not just her own, and thus she had revealed the confidental information of her pregnancy. She knew that the Senator would treat it as a secret, yet it had seemed like it had also triggered an even more protective response from his side. He had watched her closely ever since and tended to her well-being almost like she was a blood relative of him, which strongly suprised the Senator of Rattatak, but it had also seemed like she had gained another dear friend for life. She had repeatedly expressed the deep gratitude, yet she felt like it could never be enough after all he had done.

Her thoughts were suddenly interrupted by another announcement as this time the Senator of Trandosha had also chosen to ignore the invitation to the holocall and join the meeting in person instead. This time, she couldn't suppress a smirk as she had expected nothing less from Rrodossk and it also didn't surpise her that Aezzairrfhowrrhudrrl allowed him to enter. After all, she also knew that they had history and Celeste had also seen the footage of him fighting off the Killiks with his own fleet.

"Senator Rrodossk, I'm glad you are okay" she greeted him (@Olwin) warmly, yet she could immediately see and sense his pain. While a polite smile had been on her lips before, her facial expression was now mixed with deep worry and even pain of her own as he explained what had happened to his fleet and his beloved pets. "My deep condolences" she softly replied in regard to the his pets, deciding that she would talk to him in private later on to discuss the possibility of Rattatak helping him out with the fleet, but now was unfortunately not the time as Victoria, the Senator of Gannaria and the Senator of Red Nebula were joining the call. "Welcome, Senator Winterblaze, welcome Senator Mordo" she greeted the woman with a broader smile (@Xorism) , before she adressed the man (@Nor'baal) slightly more formally, still being genuinely relieved about seeing the familiar face of Victoria, as this meant that she made it out alive with the ISC transport . "I am afraid the Senator of Gannaria is right..." she then agreed rather solemnly, knowing that there were indeed pressing matters at hand.

Tension sparked in the room as Rrodossk gave an explanation, Aezzairrfhowrrhudrrl staring silently at his counterpart. The Wookiee wanted to yell at the Trandoshan, to criticize him for using FWA assets- forces not easily replaced- to screen for the Sith and the ISC. It was not the FWA's job to sell their lives for other governments, not when so many had already been lost in the struggle. The Sith and the ISC had once again taken advantage of the FWA in order to score public victories, while the FWA was once again left licking its wounds. That Dosh's fleet had been seriously impacted would do doubt strain Kashyyyk's forces, as well, as they now bore primary responsibility for defending not just Kashyyyk, but Dosh as well.

Aezzairrfhowrrhudrrl only managed to control himself because of two things; Celeste's presence in the room next to him (@LadyRen), and the look in Rrodossk's eyes that spoke to something he'd felt in the aftermath of the firebombing of Kashyyyk. The Wookiee took a deep breath to calm himself. "We will discuss the rescue operation another time." There would be an investigation, as was standard practice for all large-scale military operations, to determine where mistakes had been made, but Rrodossk looked, for the first time since Aezzairrfhowrrhudrrl had met him... defeated. (@Olwin)

A quick glance at the holocall confirmed that a quorum had been established, and the Wookiee nodded respectfully as Senator Winterblaze weighed in (@Xorism) and Senator... Mordo... arrived via holo this time (@Nor'baal). "Indeed, Senators. Let us call this meeting to order. It appears that, for the moment, we fight two threats; the Sith, and the Kiliks. I have no desire to abandon the peoples of Wayland, New Alderaan, or any of the other areas conquered by the Empire, but I am not confident that we can fight off both threats given that we have been fighting a defensive war against the Sith."

Aezzairrfhowrrhudrrl glanced around at the holoprojections and the room. "The floor is open; how should we proceed diplomatically towards the Sith?" The question of a military response would be determined once their diplomatic response was.

The Queen Mother maintained her regal composure. A very super serious look on her perfectly manicured face. Inwardly, she cackled. By the Darkness no wonder the Sith toyed with the Free Worlds so easily. What an utterly strange group of leaders. A Trandoshan without a lick of military sense. Whatever the fuck Mordo was and the ever-self-aggrandizing walking carpet. Her self-control nearly left her at the thought. Of course, the Jedi had to bail these silly little politicians out. Charlotte’s eyes rested on Celeste. The former Sith seemed to have some sense…and she was hot. Both high marks in her eyes. She yawned before clicking her tongue.

“I must apologize. My people have been absent from the galactic stage for too long. I have neglected our role in the Free Worlds while solidifying my rule but now I feel ready to step forward.” Charlotte clicked her tongue again. A nasty habit she had never managed to kick. “The Free Worlds have suffered much. This new threat only compounds the problem. We are weak compared to the rest of the galactic powers. Scattered, disorganized…without central leadership.” She raised her hand. “This is not criticism but a truth we all know.” She shrugged. “I cannot solve all of our problems, but the Hapes Consortium spans 130-star systems. We are rich and our fleets fill the skies. I want to help but there must be a clear path forward. We must show strength.” Charlotte sighed and shrugged again.

“We must do something differently. Don’t you all agree? Since the Prime Minister stepped down the Free Worlds have slowly lost power. Should we not endeavor to take that back?” The Queen Mother smiled slightly. She was ever so innocent…ever so helpful. The perfect little Queen.

With a series of taps on his screen, Mordo bought Gannarias's planetary profile up on his screen as Victoria, the Senator for the world, addressed the assembled alliance members. Like a depressingly large number of planets, it was occupied by humans, a lacklustre species Mordo had grown only to despise more and more. Bipedal carbon-based lifeforms who spent the vast majority of their lives inhaling, going for walks with small tethered animals, and letting everyone know about it on SpaceBook.

Detestable creatures.

However, Gannaria lay in the Outer Rim, and was a resting place for assorted spice runners and other unsavoury types. Perhaps they could play a part in the master plan being formed here today? Combined with the planet's wealth of natural resources, Mordo could find a place for them in the new order; of this, he was sure

Next, he brought up Rattatak. Controlled by the annoyingly friendly Senator Stythani, who had foolishly allowed her people to choose who to be led by, like those half-wits in the Core. Still, he planet had its fair share of warlords, and, by all accounts, Senator Stythani had seen the vast majority of them fall into line; a testament to her skills.

He ignored her as she addressed him, and instead focused his attention back on Senator Aezzairrfhowrrhudrrl, a man who perhaps fancied himself as the leader of their little gathering. From what Mordo had read, the Wookiee had long been an outspoken critic of the Sith Order, yet, he had done little to muster war material to back up his words.

Mordo was once again flabbergasted. How else was one to bring these Sith to their knees unless one was willing to invest in war machines, droids and ships and firebomb their pathetic worlds to ash? It was clear that the Sith could not be bested with ground-based organics, no - they had to be smashed from orbit, ships needed to rain destruction onto their worlds, send rivers of blood flowing through the streets of Korriban, the howls of the dying rising as music from an orchestra!

He had to catch his breath from excitment.

But that was when she spoke.

The Queen Mother. Whilst others skirted around the issue of warfare, she dove directly into it. "Mordo agrees." he added as she drew her remarks to a conclusion "We have the numbers, the resources - you merely lack the wit and the drive to use them." Mordo added, somewhat undiplomatically insulting everyone present. "Mordo can assure the safety of each and every one of the Alliance Leaders, and with that out of the way, the real work can begin."

"With the Hapan Fleet as a solid foundation, a pool of resources can surely be brought together to broaden out fleet armaments further, and the Red Nebula would be thrilled to assist in the coordination of not just ship manufacturing and deployment, but also of a marine force of droids, to take the fight directly to the Sith." he had to resist clenching his fist in sadistic glee.

"The critical element of warfare is surprise, and the Sith simply would never expect a direct, rapid attack on several of their key locations. Yet to do this we would need time to build up," his borg construct was working fast to make the correct calculations as he spoke " - to ensure maximum efficacy. However, with the Hapes fleets and whatever elements we can bring together short term, providing a rapid reaction force, that gives us the time we need develop, and mass produce, am assault force of our own."

"The Sith know only one language, the language of violence. We must escalate tactically, covering our growth, and answer fire, with fire. Show them the meaning of terror, lure them in further still, and when we are ready - crush them!" Mordo concluded, striking an almost triumphant pose as he drew his remarks to a close.

Aezzairrfhowrrhudrrl was seriously tempted. The thoughts of a massive fleet and rousing victories filled his mind as described by Charlotte and Mordo; chief among them revenge for Kashyyyk and Firrerre. Only the recognition that they hadn't fully answered his question- and, in Mordo's case, missed the point entirely- brought the aged Wookiee back to the moment. Aezzairrfhowrrhudrrl found himself wishing that he had his Wroshyr staff to lean on as the list of things to do grew even longer.

"I agree with Senator Le'Anna that the FWA must present a more visible and united front to the Sith and to the galaxy" he said, suddenly wary of the power that the Queen Mother claimed to hold, "but we must not tie our future to the capabilities of one person." Not everyone was an Emryc Thorne, and there was no one he trusted- not even himself- to personally lead the FWA. Korre had been the last one he'd viewed capable of doing so. "The Free World's Alliance was founded under the idea that too much centralized power is not to be trusted in the hands of one."

The Wookiee senator then offered up an idea he had been considering ever since Korre stepped down as Prime Minister. "What about forming an executive council?" Aezzairrfhowrrhudrrl would be happy to be a part of said council, of course, so long as he didn't have to be the Treasurer, but a group of seven to nine elected representatives to oversee a sector of the FWA and vote on important matters would cut through a lot of the red tape the FWA currently dealt with.

Celeste sensed that the tension inside Aezzairrfhowrrhudrrl was growing and so she focused on radiating nothing but pure calmness. It wouldn't help if the tempers would get too heated, not in their current situation. The galactical threat of the Killiks had caused to much tension and horror anyway, they couldn't afford to get lost in internal conflicts.

She quickly glanced over to the tall wookie, the smile still on her lips while she was hoping he would manage to stay calm after his little exchange with Rrodossk. She prepared to chime in if necessary, yet he replied surprisingly composed. As Charlotte began to apologize for her recent absence, the mistrust towards the admittedly beautiful blonde grew. She knew that smile on her lips. It was the very same she always wore herself. Celeste had mastered the arts of giving such seemingly perfect, polite performances long enough to know that there was definitely more hidden behind that pretty face. And then the crazy megalomaniac spoke again...

Polite as she was, she suppressed a rrolling of her light blue eyes, yet even the holoimagine had probably captured that ambitious fire in her eyes as she spoke again."I agree with the Queen Mother. We've been too scattered for years and it's time to strengthen and support one another again. What he need is organization and this is why I would agree with the Senator of Kashyyyk" she paused, glancing back at Aezz before she faced the others. "An elected, Executive Council is a great compromise. We could centralize our opinions for thr sake of our united strength, yet we wouldn't put that weight on one pair of shoulders. We are not the New Republic and also not the Independent System Consortium. We are an Alliance, an alliance of free worlds and yes, we should start presenting ourselves as a unit again, yet it is against our very nature to focus too much power on one person".

She flicked her eyes towards the Senator Mordo of Red Nebula, slighlty shaking her head. "Despite the remaining tensions between the FWA and the Sith Empire, they are not our enemy right now" she began, completely aware of the gravity of her words. She let them sink in for a moment, before she calmly went on. "The Killiks are our common enemy and due to their uncontrollable, immense numbers, they could easily start invading one of our worlds. This is the war we need to fight, before it will be brought to our very doors. What would you do if they were to invade Red Nebula? They pose a threat to all of us. This is exactly why we need to hurry and foster the production of our own fleet. We need to be prepared for what is about to come". She didn't expect that he would understand that, but she was sure the others would. What they needed was a ceasefire with the Sith, just like on Ruusan. Regardless of the initial factions, they had all fought against what was really the threat. If they could establish such a truce for now, they could start peaceful negotiations once those terrible bugs were dealt with.

The Dosh took a moment to recover himself... his pride was in tatters already and he wished not to destroy it any more. He knew he had to maintain his composure, the dried blood under nose as potent as ever. He used his resources, not theirs. His ships, his men, his credits, his own self. If the others had stepped up, maybe he would still have his Eternal Huntress to go back to. Yet his ship was much like her namesake, only a memory.

He leaned forward as he heard the Queen Mother speak and nodded as she spoke, understanding their issue. Yet his mind still wandered back to the grilling the Dosh people would get about their actions. Unlike any of these other planets, they had sent their fleets to defend a summit where their Senator had not even shown up. They expected pirates or terrorists, not an insectoid hivemind and asteroids armed with turbolasers. His heart was pounding in his ears, his tounge tasted iron. He wished he could just kill. But he couldn't, so he swallowed his anger and let it simmer for later.

As the new, hot blooded warlord spoke, however, he was allowing himself to hear not but static and white noise from him. His words were foolish, they needed to focus on one enemy at a time to destroy them before moving on. This insectoid hivemind wanted to eliminate all free will is slightly more important than any Sith assault. They needed to be dealt with quickly and thoroughly. They needed to be wiped out as soon as possible so the fleet could prepare to deal with the Sith. Now was time he would share his plan...

"I have something in the work that may assist us, a plan I have held in my back pocket incase something major was to come up. Operation: Beastmaster has merely started, but it has been a plan put into motion to deliver us a fleet. Not one made just of mothballed craft and overstock pieces, but instead entirley brand new designs. Prototypes were tested for one at our recent encounter with those insects, and they preformed well, but sadly I will have to order more from Botajef. Rattatak have been the only ones to my knowledge to know of these plans, as we have some designs being built by them as we speak." He leaned forward and motioned his clawed hand to the senator as he mentioned her planet. It was premature now, he knew, but he had to announce it to hold their attention. His fleet now may be decimated, but soon it will return in greater force.

"But I must agree with Senators Aezzairrfhowrrhudrrl and Celeste, an elected council of representatives should be formed. Dosh has a similar one for our Clan Elders, except one Elder gets elected as Chief. What we should do is have members vote on what our representatives should do, and they follow through. If not, we hold that Senator in contempt and personally punish them through fines or restrictions." He softly clacked his claws together as he opened his short blurb, as if he was putting his fingertips together. Rrodossk just played his aces, now he would wait to see if his gamble pays off.

Well…an Executive Council was a step in the right direction. How far could she push them she wondered. “And who pays for this fancy new fleet? Who commands it?” She looked around at the holo images of her fellow politicians. They were Senators…she was a Queen. “Forgive me, but there are 5 of us in this room. The Free Worlds extend far beyond that. Do we not need to convince the larger body this is the right course of action?” Charlotte’s eyes fell on Rrodossk. “Would our fellow members be keen to let a man who just lost his fleet above Ruusan command our new shinny toys?” She clicked her tongue. “I think not.” The Queen Mother arched her back and stretched.

“The Killik are the greater threat. I agree. They must be delt with before we can refocus our energy on the Sith…but we should not waste such an opportunity. The Sith are equally distracted by our new enemies. There is more to winning war than conquering worlds.” She leaned forward, her eyes intense. “Despite his untimely demise, our former Onderonian colleague was wise. We all have a darker side of our operations. Intelligence apparatuses…why not use this time to our advantage. Destabilize while the galaxy is focused on the Killik.” She smiled. “We play the helpful ally to the galaxy while moving against the Empire in the shadows.” Charlotte had dream. Big and impossible dreams. She was bonded to Andruil but the Empress was but a Queen again.

She owned the Empire nothing. In fact, they owed her. Charlotte would never have moved against Andruil but these others…well that was much easier for her to rationalize. Split the Empire and crave a piece for herself.

Senator Winterblaze (@Xorism) had been mostly silent thus far, although thankfully Aezzairrfhowrrhudrrl had an ally in Celeste's vision for an Executive Council, and to his surprise her vision most closely matched his. Even Rrodossk seemed onboard with the idea. It was more secure than consolidating power in the hands of one, yet it would give the FWA the flexibility and oversight needed to move more homogenously against the varied threats it faced. A brief, appreciative glance down in her direction (@LadyRen) would convey all that he could not say at the moment.

The Wookiee's eyes narrowed as Rrodossk suggested building new fleets- such efforts would be wasted if they were used without caution- but the idea of a more intentional military appealed to the Wookiee. The FWA, under Korre Belasi, had begun organizing the FWA fleet, but by and large they relied upon cobbled together fleets made of various planetary forces oftentimes unwilling to play nicely together. Their disorganized nature had reared its head in the response to crises like Kashyyyk and, most recently, Ruusan; the FWA simply didn't have the infrastructure in place to utilize its assets. "Senator Rrodossk, the idea is that the Executive Council would be entrusted with making decisions on behalf of the larger FWA, without a need for the entire body to vote. The council would not have carte blanche to do whatever they like, but there would be authority to oversee the FWA's organization and response to the Kilik and Sith threats." (@Olwin) The Wookiee was confident that, with strict limitations on the Council's authority, enough of the FWA would vote to ratify the idea.

As for the Queen Mother's comments, Aezzairrfhowrrhudrrl found himself cautiously intrigued. For all their defeats on the battlefield, the FWA had lost the war of public opinion even more resoundingly. The idea of sowing discord within the ranks of the Sith appealed to him, as well as the opportunity to regain some of the respect that the FWA had lost. If there was a silver lining from the emergence of the Kiliks, it was that the FWA was on speaking terms with the ISC again. "I think that we should give peace negotiations with the Sith another chance" he said, "but Senator Le'Anna is correct that our efforts to resist the Sith have been too narrow. We have neglected the diverse resources at our disposal, but I must insist that such efforts be restricted to military targets." Although successful, the attack on the Sith Academy had been weaponized against the FWA in the Galactic Senate. (@Valen Pelora)

At least everyone seemed more or less willing to consider the idea of an Executive Council. "If there are no objections to the idea of an Executive Council, how many representatives should be on it? My suggestion is 9; enough to foster inclusive and diverse voices, and an odd number so the Council cannot be gridlocked."

Victoria sat quietly taking in all the different ideas and paths that were suggested by the various senators with interest. All of these ideas had merit in their own ways, although she herself had a clear preference for peace, she was at least realistic enough to prepare for war.

"The Killik are an even greater threat to the galaxy than the Sith are to us, to attack the Sith during such times would surely only isolate the FWA from any chance of rapprochement with the Galactic Senate members. If anything, I feel we should be using this opportunity to end hostilities, not increase them. I would imagine the Sith would be open to at least a ceasefire during these tremulous times, and then we can use this good faith to build closer ties with the ISC and NR, among others."

Victoria suspected the Sith would be too preoccupied dealing with Killiks much the same as everyone else, and Ruusan had showed there was at least some appetite from the Sith diplomatic core for some kind of settlement. A ceasefire wouldn't end the war per say, but it would give the FWA a breathing room to strengthen its position and make plans for the future, without a Sith knife at its throat.

"I, too, would lend my support to the establishment of a nine member Executive Council, whose mandate would rely on the support of all member worlds and with appropriate restrictions. As for Senator Le'Anna's comments, I do believe that should this council vote to integrate the Sector Rangers into the FWA more directly, we could also expand their service to include the more....sensitive roles that we require."
