So, the new TL is almost upon us, and I'm quite excited. It means fresh characters, new adventures, and a whole new era of Galactic history to play in.

Of course, the title under my avatar isn't for nothing, so I will likely be submitting quite a few items of tech for this new timeline. Obviously, I don't yet have too many particulars on what will be required/acceptable for said submissions yet, but I figure it's not too early to put down some basic ideas and show people what to expect out of my tiny fevered mind in the future. Or the past, I guess.

Enjoy!

- Lapice-class Pinnace -
The Lapice-class is a class of pinnace-type vessel manufactured by Thanium Hyperspatial, a once-prominent Outer Rim starship manufacturer based on the planet Thanium. One of the last remaining independent manufacturers dating back to the pre-Republic period, Thanium Hyperspatial's designs carry long and prestigious pedigrees, but tend to be slightly old-fashioned in concept and design.

The Lapice is no exception. The type is of the antiquated pinnace classification, putting it mid-way between a shuttle and a starfighter, and meant to be used as a substitute for both. Long ago, this compromise was considered an ideal trade-off on the crowded hangar decks of large warships, where combining two different classes of ship allowed more ships to be carried, but as the age of large-scale interstellar warfare and giant battlecruisers drew to a close with the beginning of the Hundred-Year Darkness, the utility of such craft became dubious, clearing the way for dedicated craft that only needed to operate in-system.

Nevertheless, the Lapice persisted, and continues to be sold to this day, remaining reasonably popular with navies and law-enforcement agencies which still have need to patrol at longer ranges, and with independent operators who appreciate the ship's hyperspace capability and relatively light weapons, which are easier to certify for non-military use in many systems.

The ship can carry its pilot and up to two passengers, as well as up to a standard ton of cargo. Its speed and maneuverability are alas slightly inferior to dedicated starfighters, but a skilled pilot can hold their own in a turning nekfight. Armament - unless modified or specially ordered - consists of two light pulse-wave blaster cannons and an internal rack of four concussion missiles.

Older examples of the Lapice use Bordhell-pattern fuel slugs in their engines, but more recently manufactured ships are equipped with modern ion drives, and most Lapices currently in service have been retrofitted.

- Candor-class Monitor -
The Candor-class monitor is a class of heavy warship produced by the venerable Domel-Berger Yards corporation, a firm famous for its powerful warship designs. Although the dwindling of major fleet contracts over the course of the Hundred-Year Darkness has severely effected the company's fortunes, its products have already left their mark on the landscape of Galactic naval power.

One of their most recognizable designs is the Candor series. Classed according to convention as a heavy frigate but referred to as a monitor, its is 400 meters in length and is primarily meant to be a platform for its super-heavy armament of six huge Squintpipe turbolasers, mounted in fixed positions firing forward and meant to batter down the shields of enemy capital ships from afar. At closer ranges, the ship is protected by a more conventional armament of four heavy pulse-wave blaster turrets, plus six point-defense laser cannon ball turrets and four batteries of five concussion missile launch tubes.

Though heavily armed for its size, the Candor is disproportionately slow and unmaneuverable, though it is equipped with heavy shields and armor to protect it. The type primarily serves in the orbital defense fleets of local navies, and is not usually equipped with a hyperdrive, being limited to patrolling local space.

Candor-class monitors are not equipped with hangar facilities, and usually rely on ground-based interceptors for fighter cover.
