Abandoned Settlement, Kashyyyk

She had never attended a Life Day festival, there had always been something more important to keep her away. So when they opportunity had finally presented itself to be on Kashyyyk mere days before Life Day, she had willing accepted. Besides, she was also trying to change her ways and be more involved with the Order, act like a part of the team instead of a lone wolf off doing her own thing all the time. So this was like slaying two snakes with one stick. Though it was spiders that would need slaying this time.

She was not the only Jedi to have arrived on Kashyyyk in secret, the influx of pilgrims attending the Life Day celebrations had presented a perfect cover to slip in unnoticed. She had formed friendships with a few Wookiees herself, and one of them had helped get her in touch with his clan Elder. She wasn't sure what she had hoped to achieve with the meeting, but with all the talk of forging alliances and not being tied down to one Temple, she had hoped to work something out here. At least that's what she thought she was supposed to do, why the Force had drawn her here.

Either way, the talks with the Elder had gone well enough, and when he had spoken of the missing expedition crew that had gone silent a few weeks ago she had volunteered to go investigate. It was only when he had divulged more details, and the mentioned the swarm of Wyyyschokk spiders that infested the abandoned settlement where the Wookiees had gone missing, did she realize that she might need some help with this one.

So she had sent a general SOS to the other Jedi in the sector, and thankfully one had been close enough to be able to help. VInry had sent out her coordinates, and found a nice spot near the settlement to wait for her to arrive. She didn't know the Jedi who had agreed to help, which wasn't saying much as she knew like two Jedi in the entire Order. But she just prayed that whoever she was, she wasn't scared of spiders.

The Force bound them together. All life flowed through the Force. Kashyyyk shinned brilliantly in her mind. Alex knew Darkness lurked in some corners of the Wookie home world, but that Darkness paled in comparison to the feeling across his senses. The Forest planet was alight with life. It felt good, it felt like home. Darkness was creeping all across the galaxy. The Jedi were pushed once again. Alex fought the fear that clouded her mind. The life humming on Kashyyyk brought some measure of peace, even if she knew it would not last.

While flitting about the sector she had received a generally distress call. A part of her almost kept moving. The Jedi she had been would have kept going, leaving the troubles to ones more adept at handling them. Yet as the Force changed so did Alexandria Voran. She wanted to be different. Better. So, she answered the call. That was how she found herself listening to the sound of the forest as she walked towards the abandoned settlement.

Her mind rode the waves of the Force. This felt right. There was still the creeping Darkness just at the edge of her senses, but it was much easier to focus on the present. The tension in her chest was from her immediate future. Not the future of the Jedi Order. Her senses flashed as her eyes adjusted to the lighting. Ah yes…there. She quietly walled off her mind as she extended her presence in the Force. She put a small smile on her face as she approached her fellow Jedi.

“Jedi Forge?” Alex knew she was correct, pointed at herself. “Alex.” Her voice was muffled amongst the towering trees. “I hear we have a bit of spider problem.” She had never seen a Wyyyschokk spider but she knew enough about Kashyyyk to know they would certainly be dangerous. She could be doing worse things.
