The Corporate Tower on Eriadu starkly contrasted to the harsh industrial complex surrounding it. Sitting in the middle of the Elysian Fields Complex, the Corporate Tower was a tremendous 180-Story Skyscraper of gleaming transparasteel and durasteel, built to house the offices of the Phoenix Corporation.
The blade-shaped tower rose precisely one kilometer into the sky, elegantly slicing through a low-flying cloud so that the very top of the structure - which housed the offices of Co-CEO's Sir Johann Winslow and Jacob Roseberg - looked down upon a sea of white.
Between the two offices, situated on opposite sides of the blade-like structure, sat the meeting hall. A massive, majestic hall, with a transparasteel roof and walls that allowed the corporation's officers a bird's-eye view of the great industrial complex below, when the clouds did not block the view.
The hall was given a black marble floor, with bands of gold inlaid in a loose curving patterns through the well-polished tile. The high ceiling rested atop eight great black marble pillars placed ten meters apart near the very edge of the hall, and they - like the floor - were inlaid with gold strands spiraling up to the top.
In the center of the hall, between the pillars, sat a rectangular black durasteel table with a solid base that was as beautifully crafted as the mighty pillars. Just as it had form, it had function; a holo-projector sat in the center of the table, and fold-up computer terminals were spaced around the table to grant officials access to the corporate mainframe. Arranged around the table were high-back metal chairs, also beautifully crafted. Short planters, filled with a mix of flowers and a short green shrub that gently flowed over the sides of the planters, sat between the pillars, adding some much-needed life to the elegant and businesslike atmosphere of the hall.
At the northern head of the table stood Sir Johann Winslow, founder and Co-CEO of the Phoenix Corporation. The man was clad in his usual eccentric garb, despite the gentle urges of his secretary to adopt a more typical outfit, and seemed to be in a rather chipper mood... Though that wasn't unusual for the businessman, who oft spent his days locked away in his office, alternating between carefully planning for the corporation's future and working on his latest series of inventions, or on refining old inventions such as the Crusader family of power armor.
The CEO was patiently waiting for the Phoenix Corporation's chairmen and his business partner to arrive, along with the Corporation's head researchers. Obviously, not everyone would be able to make it to the meeting, but he hoped that a fair amount of his employees would be able to make it, so that they could discuss and plan for the future of the Corporation, and establish a list of research and development projects to be undertaken.
