Ask Forest Hunt

[Tapli Madreck]

Condor Station, Forest Moon of Endor, Endor System

The morning light shined across the forest. Lounging next to a set of gray metal containers on a half empty landing platform was a dark skinned human with her Ewok companion. The latter of whom had sat down, sharpening his spear with a flint rock while the former leaned on one of the crates.

Seda Redwall, who wore a tannish coat sighed checked her holopad again. It had been nearly a day since she received an urgent message from offworld. “When will our new ally come?” The Ewok asked in decent Basic as he continued working on the spear.

“Soon enough kid. Even with starships it still takes time.”

Seda answered before looking at a flight of birds, ascending from the trees to the west. Then the little bear stopped with the rock work to rest his hands. His expression was that of anticipation. We’re going to hunt bad ones again. For Tapli Madreck outsiders fit a few descriptions for him. Either they’re allies, guests, intruders or enemies.

The latter two certainly were not welcomed to the moon as far as he was concerned.

Two suns ago his boss, Seda received a hologram message from a fellow ranger of hers, requesting aid. Apparently an offworlder had escaped imprisonment and was tracked here to Endor. Hunting bad men was one of Tapli’s favorite passions. He smiled to himself before glancing over to his bored boss.

“Do you know this other ranger?”

Shaking her head Seda replied. “No I do not, Tapli. Now before we meet him let’s go over the rules again.”

Tapli groaned and muttered in Ewokese but nonetheless listened. Seda subsequently pointed a finger in warning at the Ewok.

“Be on your best behavior, first impressions are key to any partnership. Also try not to show off again. We are to do our job, no more, no less.”

Raising both furry hands Tapli. “Yes Ranger Redwall I will try.” In the back of his mind, though the little warrior was still excited. He couldn’t help but wonder what was to come.

[Alton Hackett]

The landing platform wouldn't be half-empty for too long as Alton's freighter would touch down on the landing pad. Alton is meeting up with a ranger and one of the natives to track down a criminal that came to the forest moon of Endor to hide. The forest moon's thick foliage makes a great place to lay low, it makes sense to try and hide here. But Rangers are great at tracking people. Alton got word that their target is on here, and now it's time to bring the fugitive in.

The ramp to his ship would fall down and he would exit. He's attired for the occasion. wearing earth-toned colors and his normal blast vest and has his normal pistol holstered on him at his side. He's ready for action.

"Ranger Redwall?" he asked saw as he walked towards the group. This is the meeting place and that's who he was told to get into contact with. He also saw an Ewok sat down with spear. Local volunteer perhaps? "Ranger Hackett. Nice to meet you two." he nodded and smiled towards the two, looking at them both one at a time. "We ready to hunt a fugitive?" because he was.

[Tapli Madreck]

Hearing the sound of engines Tapli looked up and saw the ship. It was making its final approach to the landing pad. Where many people wouldn’t be impressed with a freighter or just take them for granted, the young Ewok did not. Still amazes me how offworlders make and fly such machines. Tapli pondered to himself wide-eyed with a silly smile.

“Careful you might swallow a bird with that open mouth.”

Seda Redwall commented with mild amusement in her voice and smile. Embarrassed, Tapli closed his mouth, trying to look tough by frowning. It didn’t work.

Great Tree help me. He thought to himself.

Once the ramp came, Tapli watched the new arrival walk down the ramp in front of the party. Oh another human, was hoping for a Wookiee. Keeping that thought private, the little hooded warrior observed the introduction.

Nodding at Alton, the older ranger answered. “Last time I checked that was my name. Pleasure to meet ya Hacket. As for your question yes we’re ready.” Shaking Atlon’s hand with a firm grip Redwall then gestured toward her ally.

“This is Tapli Madreck from the Sharp Stone tribe. He’s my scout.”

Standing now proudly with spear in hand Tapli looked at Alton up and down before greeting him in Ewokese.

“Yaa-yaah.”

Done with the introductions Redwall immediately waved for both Alton and Tapli to follow her off the landing pad. Soon they head for a lift. Entering inside it they descended. During the wait, Redwall subsequently asked.

“So what’s the intel on this fugitive?”
