Name: Force Weapon

Type: Site Lore

Force Weapon refers to the practice of focusing and harnessing the force to imbue mundane materials with its power for a period of time. By channelling the force through a weapon such as a sword or staff, it would allow the wielder to strike with more power than the weapons appearance would suggest.

Applications and Limitations:

The exact appearance of a Force Weapon varies wildly depending on the user and weapon, with some manifesting a “Phantom” cutting edge preceding or trailing behind their blows, others a glowing light around their weapon that explodes with kinetic force upon contact with the target. A useful side effect of saturating ones weapons with the force, is that it allows weapons that lack Phrik or Cortosis reinforcement to resist lightsabers. The power generated by this technique allows a user to shear through or shatter most materials with a flick of the wrist, though reinforced materials like Durasteel require more effort.

The practice has generally fallen out of practise amongst force sensitives, owing to the proliferation of lightsabers and lightsaber-resistant materials amongst the Jedi and Sith, but it's still considered an essential ability to the uninitiated, impoverished, and independent force practitioners. The force can only be channelled through something with a physical and solid presence in the world, meaning that the ability is essentially useless with lightsabers and blasters.

Learning and Level Requirements

It’s a simple, rudimentary skill that can be picked up with relative ease for most force sensitives. It can be learned by a Level 1 character, requiring a single thread of practise or tutelage to pick up.

Intent
The idea was to bring a fairly simple force ability from the tabletop games into the site canon. While it doesn't have much use for the typical Jedi or Sith, it gives force sensitives who don't carry a lightsaber a more readily available form of self defence.
