DESCRIPTION​

From the oldest days of the Jedi Order, groups of Jedi were devoted to healing and repairing the wounds of the people. By focusing the energies of the Force, practitioners could accelerate the natural healing of the body. If the users focused and envisioned the wound healing in their mind, nearby individuals could actually watch small wounds heal in real time.

Force healing could be used on its own or to supplement conventional medicine. Although it is not capable of regenerating lost limbs or bringing individuals back from the dead, it is capable of assisting with the healing of even serious wounds.

Force healing could also be used to help in diagnosing injury or purging the body of toxins. Although this could be used to clear the body of poisons, it also could be used for more basic purposes like quickly purging the body of alcohol.

Such manipulation of poisons and toxins can be accomplished with any facet of the Force, but while true healing is only possible with the light side, the darkness has an inferior mimic. By focusing rage and hatred into an injury it can be temporarily pulled closed with a great deal of effort. Although the wound would return as soon as the intensity of the emotions wore off the "healing" it could be used as a temporary fix. However, the use of this ability had a number of negative side effects. It was known to lead to severe scarring at the site of injury, is highly exhausting, and sinks the user further into the dark side with a tendency toward insanity.
