Asminys rarely spent any time in the temples of the Sith, he tended to be more of a hands on practitioner of their religion. Liked to get his hands dirty. Preferably with blood. But he was beginning to find the Cadre-master's training and teachings to be, for lack of a better term, sorely inadequate. They had taught him to fight with the lightsaber well, maybe even masterfully. His command over the darkside was strong, and he wallowed in its cold embrace. He could kill as easily as he could breath, and there were few obstacles that he felt could stand in the way of his path to power.

The library was one of them. Hours spent pouring over dusty scrolls, days communing with the ancient caretakers of Sith holocrons. He sought knowledge because knowledge was power, but he itched for the weight of a saber in his hand. Yearned to feel his heart pounding in the heat of battle. He could sit for weeks or months studying, his discipline and resolve were pure. But he didn't enjoy it.

Now he poured over a dusty tome in the temple's library, its ancient script detailing what the Sith of the time knew of magick. He had met one who called herself a Nightsister and now he was obsessed. She commanded a power that was foreign to him, to the Sith, and he refused to let the Sith's lack of knowledge on the matter stand as an obstacle to his own goals.

Power.

The newly christened Darth rarely spent time at the temple, but today was the exception. She'd brought some of her Force sensitive cultists here that she decided not to kill. She told them that they, and only they, had the choice to either leave or remain in the cult. It was their right as they were above those who could not draw on the Force, the weak. So far none of them wanted to leave but she'd give it time.

Ever since she'd landed she'd sensed her Cadre-brother, so she sent off her cultists to study as she entered the library. She knew Asminys sensed her too. They'd grown up together and, even as rivals, there was no reason that they wouldn't become familiar with one anothers signatures.

She walked straight up to the man, leaning over what he was studying. Her hair fell forward as she did, blocking some of his view. Obviously, it was on purpose. "What are you looking at?" she asked in a half-curious half-demanding tone. "You aren't doing anything without my knowledge, are you?" she asked. Of course he did things all the time without her knowing. She didn't follow him around. She didn't care enough, but she couldn't help but harass the man by implying he needed her permission to do things.

Asminys stiffened as he poured over the tome, a rather interesting passage theorizing on the various Nightsister cults of Dathomir. A familiar presence had entered the temple, one he knew too well. He could smell the sickly sweet aura that surrounded her before she even entered the library. He could almost feel the hunger it betrayed as it clung to her.

Then her pale blonde hair fell across his vision and she was nagging in his ear.

"Dathomiri cults." He grunted in annoyance as he waved a hand at her hair, a small puff of power to send it away from his vision and back around the other side of her neck. Glancing up at her face leaning over his shoulder he rolled his eyes.

"Do you want something?" He asked. Hopefully she would either tell him what she wanted or leave him alone. He was busy.

The thin strands of her pale hair were pushed back around her neck in one quick motion of her Cadre-brothers hand. Her hood was down, which was why it was possible. She'd spent most of her life concealing herself, but now it felt less important. She wasn't even wearing her mask today.

She listened to his answers but said nothing at first, instead taking a seat right beside him, partly in an attempt to further annoy him but mostly out of curiosity and frustration. Her hand shot out, attempting to grab what he was reading to pull it in front of her.

"Yes, I want to know why you're pissing away time here. Reading about...about these Dathomiri cults, and not building an army, or finding a way to manipulate the Dark Lord,"
she answered plainly, a frown twisting on her face.

Maybe she was a little too interested in what Asminys was doing, and she wondered if he'd ever question it. Still, she had no control over herself when she fixated on things or people. And she'd already explained her desire to see Cadre rule the galaxy. Alone they were strong enough, but together they were a greater force, and Demolly knew she'd do whatever it'd take to secure her freedom. Moreover, Asminys was her focus because she knew he was powerful enough to make it to the top with her.

She sat next to him and pawed at the book he was reading, which he swiftly intercepted with a swat. Leaning back in the chair and finally looking her in the eye, his concentration on the text ruined.

"Aw. I didn't know you cared." He smirked at the interest she seemed to hold in his time and goals. And at the short-sightedness of her goals. He found that men died too easily, any army of them would possess that one fatal flaw. The Dark Lord held no interest to him, a powerful being that he refused to attempt to curry favor from. Power was to be taken, not eaten off the floor as scraps.

He closed the book, the Second Journal of Guardian Vuehl, he shook his head.

"They're interesting." He said simply, a glimmer in his eye. He knew the answer would annoy her, knew she would see it as wasting time on some fanciful diversion from galactic conquest. But these Dathomiri had garnered his interest, and he wasn't a man easily interested in things. He had seen the power they could wield, and, well... he was interested.

A sudden gleeful sound caught his attention and his eyes flicked past Demolly to glare at a pair of acolytes who were whispering excitedly hunched over a book at another table in the library. He couldn't see their faces, their backs were turned to him, but he could feel the sudden joyousness that had come over them. One of them motioned to a third who rushed over to take a look at whatever their sudden find was.

Demolly frowned at his first reply, pulling her hand away when he swatted at it. It wouldn't be worth fighting over a book. Especially since it'd appear comical to those around them.

But she did care. Only insofar as it benefiting her... of course. Okay, maybe there was a little more beneath it that she didn't want to admit. Namely, some pride in the Cadre. After a few seconds she did answer, "Of course I care that a brother is wasting time on useless things instead of cultivating power."

His answer was entirely unsatisfactory and she knew he knew. She would've snapped back if she hadn't noticed his focus going elsewhere. Her eyes turned too and she could sense their excitement.

"It makes sense, right? That has to confirm my theory that there's something down those tunnels," one said. "Right here, right in this log confirms that the Dathomiri settled near that area for awhile. And then..." He pulled another tome over. "There's story after story of Sith going in those caves and not coming out... it has to be connected. Something dangerous or worthwhile must be down there."

Of course she thought that ancient cults of force practitioners were a waste of time. She had not seen what he had or felt what she had felt coming from that Dathomiri Witch. He was okay with her remaining ignorant, she had already amassed power that was, he was loathe to admit, greater than that which he wielded currently. Not for long he hoped, however.

Before he could respond, the words of the Acolyte nearby drifted to his ears. They perked up as he realized just exactly what they were saying. Dathomiri settlemtents. Mysterious tunnels. Disappearing Sith. Something dangerous. Oh he was interested now and not afraid to show it.

"I'm not wasting time." He said.

Standing, he turned his back on his Cadre-sister and approached the Acolyte's from behind. They failed to note his approach in their excitement and he got right up behind them.

"What are you looking at." He rumbled, his voice low and threatening as the trio of Acolyte's spooked and turned swiftly on him.

"None of your busin-" The acolyte began. Asminys was having none of it and his hand lashed out to grab the Acolyte by the throat, cutting him off.

She heard his words, but didn't believe them. They prompted a sigh from her. A long, annoyed one. She almost grunted when he got up and walked towards the acolytes, but she stood up too when he wrapped his hand around the kids neck.

Sure, he was wasting his time but he was still a cadre-brother. Part of her couldn't help but back him up, even if he didn't need the help against such pathetic Force wielders.

The two other acolytes stood when it happened. One spat, "Karker face" and went to lift his hand. Demolly pushed both her hands outward, as if she was opening an old door, as she used the Force. Both acolytes hit the walls swiftly and fell down.

And now was her chance.

She quickly snapped up the tomes they were reading and stepped away from Asminys. "Hm" she said, looking at them. "Seems boring. How fast do you think I could crush them?" she said as she lowered them so her cadre-brother could see the wicked smile curling on her lips.

The Acolyte grasped at Asminys' hand as he choked him, trying to break free of his iron grip to no avail. Asminys caught his hand as he went for his saber. He would kill the Acolyte if he drew, and he knew that trouble might come down on his head from above if he were to kill a fellow Sith so freely in the heart of their home.

Throwing the Sith to the floor of the library, Asminys turned to eye the the books that Demolly held. The books that the Acolytes had been so fervently whispering about. "The books or the kids?" He asked as his eyes flicked to the acolytes who were trying to recover their composure, trying to figure out what to do about the pair of senior Sith who had just robbed them of their find.

"Leave them, they are not worth the trouble." He glared with hateful eyes at the acolytes, who shrinked back from his gaze. They may have made a trio of enemies this day, but they were enemies that did not concern him. They were weak.

Turning his attention back to the tomes, Asminys eyed the title. Realizing they were the writings of Guardian Vuehl, he reached towards his own tome he had been studying and called it to his hand.

"Come sister, how would you like to take a trip to Dathomir?" He asked as he took a step towards the door. Whatever the books held could be studied on the flight, away from the trio of vengeful acolytes who were beginning to find their footing.
