FOAM SPRAY

Description:

With the widespread use of helmets in battle, this innovative yet simple device was created to add an extra edge in combat. Similar to how pepper spray is used, foam spray is applied to the target’s helmet visor or eyes to obscure their vision. To this effect, the foam was fundamentally designed to attach itself and become exceptionally difficult to remove without getting it everywhere. Furthermore, the foam smears due to its sticky properties upon attempting to remove it — making the foam require meticulous attention to clear it off.

In order to provide a greater effect on unprotected targets, a caustic agent was added to the foaming solution. While it is as painful as mace, it was not designed to permanently damage eyesight provided the victim is able to attend to their wounds. The solution can also impair breathing if applied to the nostrils, although it is only as hindering as a stuffy sinus would be.

When projected, the foaming agent is in a semi-liquid form. When it contacts whatever surface it hits, it begins to foam instantly and solidify into a very sticky substance that is similar to rubber or melted marshmallow. The foaming takes around 2 seconds after contacting to expand 3-4 times its size, effectively blinding the target. Once fully expanded, the foam has hardened to its rubbery state.

Due to the canister’s small and portable state, it can be either carried in its original casing or attached as a wrist-mounted function to gauntlets.

Intent:

As the previous version of the foam spray was exclusively wrist-mounted, this updated version allows it to be either handheld or equipped as an added function to an armor’s system. While it doesn’t damage armour and is painful to the unprotected eye, it provides an excellent tactical advantage in combat.

This might be what you're looking for. But I like the write up, and the Idea of a hand held is a good idea, I think there's something like that as well somewhere but I couldn't find it.

Ah here.

Yes, I was speaking to Clayton on skype and asked if the wrist-mounted version could be used handheld as well. He said it could, but I'd need to make an updated tech submission, so voila. Also the czerka version is a bit older and written as generic.

I'm wondering if I could use this as shaving cream, or maybe to spray onto someone's face as a prank.
Or maybe even for a good whipped cream?

You're free to do any of those....but it'd hurt like hell and certainly wouldn't taste like whipped cream :P
