Brin leaned wearily on the Toydarian mechanics desk with one hand, the other rubbed the bridge of his nose slowly as he pressed his eyes closed...

"Yesterday it was 1200 credits...and the hyderdrive would be fixed in two days. Now you're saying you need 150 extra credits and it will take two days longer?"

The Toydarian fluttered across the desk and over to a small drinks trolley in the corner of his office.

"I don't do the repairs myself boy, I trust what my team says down in the pen, and they are telling me they need more parts, and the work takes longer, ok?"

Brin massaged his eyes and sighed heavily... "So...now I have no hyperdrive, for at least another 48 hours, the oxygen recycler is still running at 25% capacity, the dorsal quadlaser has..." Brin quickly pulled a datapad from a pocket in the side of his trousers and scrolled the screen down... "...only 2 lasers functioning...so its technically a duo-laser...if you will? I have no long range comms because my emitter array is sat in 8 pieces on the floor of your workshop and the lighting panel in the cockpit is currently stuck on bright green. I paid you 2000 credits nearly a week ago, and more after that to get things fixed. If I were so inclined, my good sir, I would infer that you were taking me for ride, on a particularly odorous bantha."

The Toydarian maintained his mocking smirk as he sipped from a small gilt cup. He came to rest in a reclined chair behind the desk and shrugged apathetically at Brin.

"Look boy...it takes as long as it takes, alright? No amount of complaining is gonna change how fast my team works, yeah? And think about it...who else you gonna go to on this station? I'm the only one with the parts to fix your ship remember?" The mechanic gave a throaty laugh and waved a hand towards the office door... "We'll call you when you we're done boy, ok?"

Brin fought down his anger and forced a polite smile onto his face, even as he flexed his hands in frustration.

"Yeah I hear you...boy...I guess I'll go enjoy the delights of the station while I wait then..."

And with that, Brin stormed out of the repair bay office and back onto the small circular, two decked promenade of the space station.

The station itself had plenty of room on its docking ring for vessels, but the facilities and space within were limited. A few shops, a cantina, a courier and transport office and the depressingly inefficient repair yard were all that seemed to grace the commercial hub of the station.

Brin decided to return to the Eclipse, and make do with what little comfort he had on board. Even in the central lounge hub, there were meters of cabling hanging from open hatches in the deckhead and panels missing on the bulkheads. He had stationed K-T at the bottom of the ramp, in the hope that he might drum up some business, and get off the station with a little cash, slightly quicker than currently planned. He tossed his jacket over the holotable and collapsed down into one of the sofas.

He continued to rub his temples as he lay on the threadbare cushions... "Please gods, let me get off this station..."

Lore walked quickly through the space station, keeping her head down low. She had managed to catch a ride here, but now she needed to go to Jakku. She had gotten off Nar Shaddaa and been notified of a bounty on her head- on the head of Black Moon. So now she was wearing baggy clothes, no mask, and all her possessions in a knapsack slung over her shoulder, covering the rifle strapped under her large shawl. Looking down at the ground as she walked, she noticed her shawl had draped over in just the way that it looked like she was trying to hide a baby bump. Which she wasn't. She found this slightly amusing and chuckled to herself, wondering if she was becoming hysterical.

She turned into the hangar and lifted her head, surveying the ships. She would rather not have to steal and rig a ship to get off this Force-forsaken station. A droid caught her eye. It was holding a sign advertising a pilot offering transport. Lore sighed in relief and walked up to the droid. "Where is your master?" she asked.

lowered the sign it was holding and turned to face the individual that had addressed it. It gave it a cursory glance up and down and cocked its head slightly to the side. It's voice came out with a distinctly digital timbre, and had obviously been altered to reflect a seemingly female tone.

"Greetings madam. My master, Brinnon Castalli, is currently on board our vessel, the Corellian Eclipse..." K-T jerkily extended its right arm behind it and motioned to the ship. "Captain Castalli has just returned from seeking mechanical repairs on our vessel. Do you intend to seek passage with us madam?"

Lore considered the droid, realizing that it would be quite easy for anyone to take advantage of this situation. "Yes, I do," she replied. "Should I just walk in...?" she said, pointing to the lowered ramp, and placing a hesitant foot forward. If the droid gave its consent she would walk forward onto the ship to look for 'Captain Castalli'.

"Of course madam. The captain will be on board, I am sure he will be delighted to meet a new customer. You will find him working in the common area just up the ramp." With that, K-T seemed to almost ignore the newcomer and turned back to holding the sign up in front of it.

Brin was still lay across the sofa, weighing up his options. On his return he had noticed that the comms array was at least now reattached to the hull of the ship, but due to the work on the hyperdrive, he had no power available to see if it was working properly yet.

He signed again, and sat up, walking over to the console in the centre of the common room. He flicked through the star charts, looking again for the nearest populated system which he might be able to limp to in an attempt to find another repair yard to fix the Eclipse.

Lore nodded and walked onto the ship slowly, trying to make her steps loud so Castalli would be aware of her presence. She entered the common room and saw a man with dark hair sitting at the console in the middle. "Excuse me," she said, stopping a yard away from him. "I need a ride to Jakku," she asked, hoping the man would be able to do it and wouldn't charge too much.

Brin was swiping through the galaxy map on the holoprojector as the voice echoed down corridor. He jumped slightly as the dark haried woman entered the common room and made her way up to him.

He backed off slightly, with a slightly bemused look on his face...

"Erm...hello...Jakku you say? I erm...who are you?"

Lore raised an eyebrow, smiling a little. Maybe she should have introduced herself first. "I'm Lore," she said, not using her assassin name because if she had, it was very likely that Castalli might have turned her in for the bounty. That would have been a very easy bounty to acquire and Lore did not plan on going down without a fight. "Can you do it? Take me to Jakku?" she clarified.

Brin extended his hand, still somewhat taken aback, but a small friendly smile began to spread across his face.

"Lore? Good to meet you, I'm Brinnon Castalli, captain of this fine completely space worthy vessel..." He gestured around the compartment with his arms...#

"...But please call me Brin. I can certainly take you to Jakku, when was it you would be looking to leave?"

Lore smiled, willing it to reach her eyes. "Would today work?" she asked, adjusting the bag slung over her back, which covered her rifle. Brinnon looked awkward and Lore wondered how often he talked to women, let alone other people. "I'm kind of in a hurry," she added. She swung her bag off her shoulder and pulled out a bag of credits. "How much would it cost?" she asked, slinging her bag over her shoulder again.

Brin stumbled over his words as Lore told him when she wanted to leave...

"Tod...Today? I mean..." Brin thought very carefully about his next sentence...and tried to hide the enormous lie he was about to tell...

"Today would work perfectly! It might be a bit later this evening, if that still works? You are more than welcome to hang around on board and use the facilities, while you wait?"

He strode over to the nearest cabin to common area and pushed the sliding door open, revealing a clearly slept in, but unmade bed, and a few fast food wrappers on the deck. He quickly shut it again.

"On second thoughts, please use most of the facilities. I will get K-T to clean up your quarters. As for pricing..."

Brin strode over to the galaxy map in the centre of the common room and made some quick astro calculations.

"100 credits?"

Lore nodded. This flight would definitely be amusing; this man was quite awkward and she found it endearing. "I would be immensely grateful," she replied, pulling out 100 credits and a little extra. "For your trouble," she added, setting the credits on a little side table. She adjusted her baggy shawl unknowingly making her look even more as if she was trying to hide a baby bump. She sat down on a seat in the common room.

Brin stood slightly open mouth for a few moments, not expecting such an immediate acceptance of his price.

"Normally they haggle Lore, ya know? I mean...I'm very grateful, thank you."

He swept the credits into his hand from the table, watching Lore out of the corner of his eye. He looked intently at her for a few seconds before continuing...

"If I'd have known I'd be carrying two passengers, I might have thought about charging you double! I just need to go settle up with the dockmaster, please feel free to explore the ship" He chuckled, nodding towards her shawl. Brin walked off towards the cargo area smiling, before summoning K-T loudly down the corridor.

The protocol droid scuttled around the corner, almost knocking Brin over. He grabbed the droid by the arm and talked quietly as they moved towards the cargo ramp...

"K-T, listen to me very carefully. You need to get as much of what is currently not connected to the ship, connected to the ship. We have a paying customer who needs to get off this cess pit of a station and into the black ASAP. So get working. The hyperdrive, the quadlaser, the comms relay...everything...get it patched up"

The droid stood for a few moments directly in front of Brin, its plain faceplate staring, unmovingly at the captain...

"But Sir, you are aware I am a protocol droid, I am versed in over three million forms of communication and star ship repair is not my pri..."

Brin placed a finger over the slot that resembled a mouth on the droid...

"If you don't get these things fixed K-T, the only thing you are going to be fluent in, is a dozen different kinds of hot beverage. Now...if you please...the hyperdrive..." Brin extended his arm, offering the way towards the engine room for the droid...

"Now, I'm going to see a Toydarian about a light bulb..."

A jolt went through Lore when Brinnon's words sank in. She opened her mouth to argue but then he was gone. She thought for a second, and then pulled off her shawl. Her rifle was now on display but now hopefully she would be spared the awkwardness.

She sat in the lounge for a minute fiddling with her hands while she waited for him to return. She could hear him talking to his droid but she couldn't hear any specific words.

Brin strode down the ramp into the small, cluttered hanger to find the Toydarian hanger owner talking to the mechanics, who had been assigned to repairing his ship, in the corner. The small group, as Brin observed, much to his annoyance, were all drinking and laughing and not doing anything that resembled 'mechanic-ing' whatsoever.

Brin grumpily kicked a toolbox as he walked towards them, sending hydrospanners and fusion cutters skittering across the oily metallic tiles. The small group turned to face Brin, looking for the source of the sudden loud noise, and their chattering stopped.

"What in the name of the many Gods are you actually doing? Because you're certainly not doing what I've paid you to do!" He shouted in frustration, motioning to the two quad laser barrels lying on the deck.

The smartly dressed Toydarian held up a hand to the workers and hovered around to face Brin.

"I asked you what your staff are doing! My ship still isn't fixed!"

Brin wrung his hands in exasperation as the Toydarian began laughing in his face...

"Listen here you annoying...individual! I am struggling to express how...ANNOYED I am right now! Is this what you need to finish the job? Hmm?" He exclaimed, tossing a 50 credit chip at the Toydarian.

"We have been here far too long, and you have done far too little work for the money I have given you. I have a customer waiting to leave, currently on board, pretty much right now, and I am still stuck here waiting for you to do anything at all" Brin spun around, pointing to K-T up on the top of the freighter, currently reattaching the comms relay.

"My droid has done more in ten minutes than you have in about ten days!"

Brin moved closer to the Toydarian, smelling the stale, bitter scent of Black Caf on his breath.

"Get your poodoo together! And get my ship fixed!" Brin growled, realising he was maybe going a step too far, and began backing away.

"Do you dare threaten me?" enquired the owner, slightly taken aback

"I do not tolerate people talking to me like that." he hissed, snapping his fingers at the mechanics, and motioning towards the exit.

"And I certainly do not entertain people talking to me like that in my own hanger...consider our contract terminated. You have an hour to pack up and leave." The Toydarian snarled as he began to fly towards the hanger door. Before exiting, he turned one last time, flashing a cruel grin at Brin...

"I suggest that you are not still here after that time has expired..."

Brin stood for a few moments, watching the group leave the hanger. He turned, and still fuming from the exchange made his way back up into the Eclipse, and stomped into the common area. He completely ignored Lore, who was sat down on one of the sofas, next to what appeared to be an enormous rifle, and kept storming through, towards the cockpit. In his anger, he half noticed the gun on the sofa, and did a double take at the weapon as he made to leave, but stopped abruptly at the hatchway. The anger dropped from his face, replaced by a blinking, confused frown...

"Is that...is that yours?" Brin questioned, pointing next to Lore

Lore glanced up when Brin walked back in. His angry scowl left his face when he saw her gun. Lore honestly prefered his shock rather than have him think she was pregnant. "Yes it is mine, and I know how to use it," she replied, no threat in her voice. She was just stating the facts. She didn't want to kill this pilot, he was no threat and he appeared nice enough.

"Is everything all right?" she asked. She had heard shouting from outside.

Brin gawped at the rifle and just nodded along as Lore replied...

"Well...Ok! That's cool..I guess..." He said quickly, giving Lore a thumbs up. He made to walk out of the hub again as K-T came waddling through from the back of the ship.

"Captain Castalli, Sir, I have reattached the comms array but we will be limited to mid-band frequencies only, and the quadlaser will remain a duo-laser for the foreseeable future until we can put into somewhere else to fix it and..." The droid trailed off as it noticed Brin starting to wave his arms up and down and across his face.

The captain looked between the droid and his guest and smiled awkwardly...

"YES! Yes...everything is fine. There's just been some issues with the dock master and the quality and urgency of his repair work..." he admitted nervously

"But we should still be able to make it out of here in a few hours with no..."

"Sir, the dockmaster said we had to be out of the hanger within the hour" K-T interuppted...

Brin clenched his fist in front of him and closed his eyes...

"Thank you K-T...for that...update..."

He turned to Lore again...

"I can assure you miss, that we will up and running as soon as possible and on our way. The dockmaster was just a little...abrupt, in his handling of my complaints. You will setting down on Jakku in two shakes of a banthas tail."

He smiled nervously again and made to slip out towards the cockpit...
