After the High Priest had ordered Lillianne never to let Darius leave her sight unless guards accompanied him, she had pondered the idea of joining the training sessions of Isiah and Darius. It would be risky, she knew, but it might also prove to be very beneficial. The two students could learn from one another, spar with each other and help where the other showed a weakness. River seemed much more intuitive in his nature while Isiah proved to be more physical. Hoping they could both learn together and along with each other, she more wanted to see how the change might affect River.

She had asked River to be patient with the guards at his doorway, telling him that there would come a time when trust would be restored. Now, standing before his door, she knocked upon it lightly and called out his name.

"River? Are you ready? Isiah is waiting."

He let out a low sigh, looking at his companions - his prison guards. For it might as well be prison. It made one feel trapped to be this closely watched. They looked as if they were ready and willing to kill him at any moment - he was dangerous. And he knew it. It had been several days since Lillianne had banished the evil from him, but it was only a matter of time. Already he was beginning to have random, spaced out headaches and a pressure in his throat. But he knew that, for now, he could handle it. The guards didn't help - they were unnerving.

Even when he slept he was watched, like some animal from the zoo. He would prefer to sleep in Lillianne's room than this - though that would be very highly awkward.

His head perked when he heard Lilly knck on his door, and could sense the sweet aura about her. It filled him with a hope, and yet nervousness. He didn't want to be oppressed by one more - this... Eli? Isias? - he didn't need that.

But there was no stopping it now. He got up and opened the door with a faint smile and a small twinkle in his eyes at finally being around someone who trusted him. He nodded a bit in response before relaxing his face to his usual stony gaze, walking out with her.

Once they were beyond the ears of the guards, she poked him in the ribs with her elbow.

"Lighten up, will you? You seem so...somber. This will be good for you," she told him, her hope-filled words trying to instill that same sense of hope within him.

"Besides, if you two behave, we might even take a trip off-world."

His eyes darted over to her when he felt her poke. As a reply, he gave a half-sigh, half-grin. She was so cheerful, it couldn't help but rub off on him. However, he perked up when she mentioned the last.

"Off-world?" he repeated, interest and intrigue rising within him. Inside he was still a herder. Then his countenance fell. He had caught wind of the High Priest's plan and it tore at him. "Oh. To go before the Jedi Council. Right," he said, turning away. He had heard that he was to be publicly humiliated before their enemies - or were they their allies? - who knew, they changed alliances all the time. At any rate, the whole Force-using world was to know of his crimes, and how lenient the Bendu were, and how he should have been exiled to begin with. It made him think of exiling himself just to save them the bother.

OOC: We're almost there. You're still in that dark room...hehehe.

"The Jedi Council?" she asked incredilously. Lillianne knew of no plans to take him before the Jedi Council, unless the High Priest...

Still, brushing aside the comment, she shook her head emphatically. "No, I have a mission to test both of your skills, yet we must first get you on the same level as Isiah. A mission I'm sure you will enjoy," she added, quickening her pace and hoping to leave him in suspense.

Leading him down a set of stairs, she kept her arms in front of her, wondering what her other apprentice had gotten himself into. The rooms were drab down here, but there was no need for ornamentation. This was the place where duels were fought and the ways of the Force of Others was learned. Above you learned the concepts, but below held the secrets of the Bendu Knights.

Stopping before a dark room, she turned back to look at River. "Just inside," she offered, opening the door and stepping aside.

Isiah sat against the wall the faced the door. He had been doing a few pre-training excercises while he waited for Lilly to return with the other trainee. He had set his pace rather hard, thinking that she would be back quicker but he did miscalculate the distance from and too the room and if they would have a conversation in the other's room that might take awhile.

This led to some fatigue that caused him to sit down and catch his breath. He was fully rested now but his sword rested unsheathed to his right with his kimono and gi draped over it. The sheath of the sword layed parrallel to the wall and to his immediate left.

He opened his left eye when he heard the door creak open, making no effort to rise. He was glad a friend was his trainer and not some hardass old Priest who would have had him up and working again by now.

Once more some joy began to return to him when she clarified the offworld mission they were to go on. Once more he began to become more eager as he followed his teacher to a darkish room beneath. Inside the room, he could see a boy, probably his own age, only a Human. Not quite sure what to do, River waited for Elijah... or whatever his name was... to make the first move.

((Calling him Elijah? Yes, I know you're Isiah, but he might not, so he mistakingly thought of him as Elijah))

Lillianne followed Darius into the room and closed the door behind her. Looking to Isiah, her smile deepened and a joy glittered in her eyes.

"Isiah, please meet River, my other apprentice. It makes little sense to separate you two when you can make leaps and bounds in progress learning from one another."

Clasping her hands in front of her, she waited for both of them to introduce themselves and watched to see how they might interact. Lillianne wanted their first day to come off without a hitch.

Isiah got up from his position by the wall and stretched his arms a little. As he walked towards River he started to crack his neck and move his left arm around slowly to work out the rest of his kinks. When he was within range he stuck out his hand for the other man to shake.

"Well, usually we would make introductions but Lilliane took care of the 'name exchange' portion."

River watched this other trainee very closely. He wanted to be very careful, he wanted to be sure that he wasn't a... ahem. That he wasn't like Josiah. It made no difference to how hard you tried if he was going to be... like Josiah. He noticed that the Human was taking a long time and getting over and making a show of his athleticism. He was obviously a swordsman, it was the way he loosened his arms that gave it away. The only puzzle was whether he was broadcasting it to get attention and flattery.

I'm tough, too, soldier boy. He thought to himself as a bolster to his confidence should the Human try to push him around or make as if he were somebody.

His underlying suspicion didn't help the conversation, especially considering that he was already an awkward conversationalist. There was a very brief pause before he reached out to take the Human's hand to shake it.

"Yes, I guess she did," was all he said, not really good at coming up with any more, his low, husky voice only making the moment even more awkward.

Isiah raised his eyebrow at the other's tone. It didn't seem menacing but there was something there. He dismissed this however. As he had thought before, Lilly wouldn't have set this up if they would be at eachother's throats. Or maybe that was her intention.

Healthy competition was never bad and Lilly's training habits weren't the most... "orthodox" you could say. Isiah disengaged the hand shake and smiled at the other.

"Well, I'm sure we'll get to know some more as time goes on," Isiah turned his attention to Lilly, "So, Lilliane. What are we gonna start with? I'm sure you chose this room for a reason."

Lillianne had watched the exchange, smile fading a little as she saw the two sizing each other up. Not good. It seemed they had a long long way to go.

Turning her head to Isiah, her smile widened as a light of mischief glimmered in her eyes. Clapping her hands together and braking the glance, she moved to the center of the room and waved the two toward her.

"You've both been practicing with your meditation and learning the basic concepts of the Bendu," she started, leaving out how much further Isiah was in his training. "Yet, I wanted to offer a change in training for this week. As you've both felt the movement of the Force of Others, it's time you learn how to fight with it."

He could sense her displeasure at how things were going, and for some reason it hurt. The moment was broken, however, when she spoke. Turning to her, he said, "I have no sword, I did not bring one with me when I came here, I was told we were eventually to make our own," he clarified, though he wasn't sure if she meant fighting with what he knew of the Force of Others or with blades. Just in case, he added, "Any rules?"

Shane understood a little on the subject. Lilly had demonstrated her prowess in their last sparring match. He still smiled whenever he thought of the little ribbon on her blade. Then he winced when he thought of her counter move.

"If he doesn't have a sword I won't use mine. But it shouldn't be hard to acquire on eif it is absolutely necessary, right?"
