STRENGTH: Below average for a human and certainly below average for a Jedi, Fen has only just started physical training of any form in the past few months. Her natural advantage of a fast metabolism means she makes faster progress than most but she still has years of catching up before she reaches the levels expected of her peers. For a punch thrown from her to do any damage would require her whole body being in the right stance and for the target to stand still and let her hit them. She can carry around 30kg for a short time without getting too tired and is frequently hesitant about any sort of manual labour.

DEXTERITY: Fen is pretty flexible for a lifeform with bones however she had no practice in most of her range of movements before she started training a few months ago. She can be considered average at best however has focused very hard on a variety of unarmed martial forms in that time and while just a beginner she already understands the basics of how to use someone else's strength against them to make up for her own shortcomings. When it comes to fine work such as threading a needle or computer wiring, she is surprisingly adapt and her handwriting is impeccable. That and typing are one of the few physical skills she has practiced all her life to a high level.

CONSTITUTION: With the metabolism of her mother and the sturdiness of her father Fen seems to never be sick and heals from wounds very quickly, though she eats more than would be expected of someone her size. In the last few months she had put on weight and muscle as she has gotten used to exercise and eating a much healthier diet. She is however still easily on the scrawny and light size, easy to throw around and knock over. In general if she can't avoid she has to evade, she can't really take a much of a punch and has a low tolerance for pain.

INTELLIGENCE: The main asset that Fen relies on is her ability to absorb knowledge, be it language, history, trade deals, technical specifications, while not eidetic she is certainly headed in that direction. When she needs to find information she does so, using everything she has and then she will remember that for next time. Complex mathematics, Scientific principles and History are things she finds easy to learn even if she doesn't know a huge amount about the universe currently. Being able to out think those around her is part of how she has stayed alive and rose to the position that she did.

WISDOM: Having grown up in a palace, Fen has little idea of how to deal with the real world. However lies are something she is used to creating, repeating and revealing. Common sense though, that is sorely lacking along with making choices for herself.

CHARISMA: Some can consider Fen attractive but has nothing overly remarkable of note physically. Frequently speaking softly and quietly she seems detached and some would say vulnerable. In general Fen enjoys that appearance and cultivates it to an extent, even though it isn't as true as often as one might think. Appearing subservient to those she feels the need to she is easy to talk to, if not always that interesting to listen to given her lack of development when it comes to informal social interaction. For a Jedi she dresses brightly and seems quite cheerful at glance, she does not seem threatening.

Personality%20Text_zpsh8ugquxw.png

If to be captured in a single word, Fen is order. Everything in the galaxy has its place and its purpose, be it higher or mundane. She fully accepts that such things are able to change on a whim or chance but that that the order exists for a reason. To go against it will cause repercussions so vast and unknowable that any small act might have the opposite effect without careful consideration. On an every day level that means almost nothing, however when it comes to toppling a corrupt leader because you see them as evil, Fen is not so quick to act. In fact that could easily be said to be her greatest weakness, Fen would much rather take the time over any decision to make sure that she has all the facts before progressing further. If a choice has to be made quickly she might well miss the chance to make it entirely, making the situation worse for everyone involved. Not helped by the fact that frequently when she tries to react on the fly, she makes terrible choices that might solve the immediate problem but will certainly cause much larger ones in the long run. Having a plan and sticking to it are her strengths and she knows it.

In her world she knows, deeply what is right and what is wrong and even against all other voices will not shift how she feels short of a miracle. You should not kill people if you can ever avoid it, death is an end that no being has right over nor the wisdom to inflict on others. Maybe in part for atonement, for her past inaction and even action leading to the deaths of others, sometimes by her orders no less, it is a strongly branded principle of the new her. Likewise for stealing, which she never did or causing harm to others which by inaction again she did. This is why, the fighting style she is learning focuses much more on defence than strikes, to tire an opponent rather than harm them. So she might seem an upright and outstanding citizen, Fen would certainly like to think she was one now. However lying and trust in others are two shadows from her past that seem impossible to escape. To Fen the truth is a commodity, one bartered, traded and sold, something that should not be given freely. Why tell the truth when the other party has no way of knowing it, why assume that others are telling you the truth? What she has now known as the Force has long whispered to her the falsehood of another's words and given her a sense of what to trust and what not. That people lie often and about so many things, she is able to pick at them yet not know what the truth is, merely infer it. It takes concerted effort from her to tell the truth to her friends, more still to trust them not just with her own words but her own well being.

Fen sucks at making friends. Sure she can be nice enough to be around, polite, quiet and wildly awkward but she doesn't open up easily. There is that niggling doubt programed into her almost all her life that the person she is talking to right now, with the wrong words could lead to her death. So to express dissent, to state true feelings on a matter are almost impossible for her. Instead she will give the person what she thinks they want to hear, more often than not. To keep herself safe Fen wears the mask of a detached woman, cold and focused on the tasks in front of her. Afraid that the one wearing that mask, could easily be someone she detested. That the person under it could think and say things to get her killed, or worse. The mask that she wore for a decade, she became almost entirely. A matter of survival to be sure. However that mask has since chipped, cracked and started to wear away. Not so long ago she learned to laugh at the ludicracy of the universe, along with how cold and violent it could be. Not so long after that she learned that trust could mean the opposite of death, a lesson she is still digesting. The real Fen was locked away as a little girl and missed all those developmental milestones most take for granted. The chance to find your own wants, to rebel, to love, to hate, to have hobbies or even sleep in on a day off. She can't remember ever playing with a ball, or other children, she can't remember feeling any loyalty to anyone but her owner. All these things are only now starting to develop.

She is far from antisocial however, Fen finds it easy to talk to new people as long as the topic is not herself. Social graces come easy to her and while often overly polite she seems a very eager to learn more about people and spend time with her. At the same time however she tends to be more natural reacting to others rather than being the spark of interaction. To her the best kind of friend is one who will spend a set amount of time with her before going on about their day, meeting up for a meal for example. What she needs however are friends that can help her develop, grow and open up to about her repressed feelings. While just that will make her uncomfortable, in the long run it would certainly be for the best. As for Fen's own attitude to friends, once she makes them she is loyal and does he best to make sure they are happy, putting them far above herself. Though she would not die for them, nor would she put her life on the line in a situation they created.

As a Jedi Fen both fits and does not fit at the same time. She is a being that has elected to be as peaceful as possible, if only for her own wellbeing which clashes with both her master and the Jedi Order as a whole. Her physical focus is based on evading attacks if she can't evade conflict entirely, playing to her strengths. Bereft of possessions as a slave she actually owns more as a Jedi, yet feels little desire for further trappings. Dressing in showy, extravagant yet simple silks rather than robes and having spartan quarters, standing out but still not overstated. Fen doesn't voice her feelings about the Order and is generally the same soft spoken, eager to please person she is to everyone other than her master. Having spent the most time with him, feeling just a little bit comfortable and more open with him, he is an outlet. When away from other Jedi Fen has no problem disagreeing, questioning and becoming frustrated with him. Along with letting a sense of humor that is normally well buried shine.

Throwing herself hard into training, though not without reluctance Fen works hard to become a better Jedi because she can. Not for power and she doesn't feel the need to be better than those around her, which is mostly far behind. No she wants to improve herself to be the best she can, to do more or aim higher temps a side of her she is not ready to confront.

Biography%20Text_zpsl8263dkk.png

"To be a slave, is to have your life in the hands of another. That makes a great many things very simple, if you want to eat, please your master. If you want to drink, please your master. If you want to live, please your master. Do this small thing and you need never worry about your next meal, a home, those troublesome social horrors, that you will go on, exist and find your own happiness," ~ Slave Master Tolom

Almost as far back as she could remember Fen had been a slave, there was a time she was not. A hazy memory of her father, his family. He was tall, broad chested and laughed, she liked his laugh. What happened to him, those other faces, she couldn't remember. Her mother she never knew but her own reflection could tell her back that. Alive or dead, they were gone now and her life did not have them in it.

She was schooled with a multitude of other "interests" roughly her age by a droid, a cold grey thing that creaked when it moved and moaned when it talked. Unlike the other children though, she excelled in these lessons and while they were put to work in their masters kitchens, pits, mines and workshops she was given more and more things to study. By the time she was ten she was given charge of organizing the masters library and more and more often translating for him. It was by then also apparent that she could sense a falsehood when told, something she focused on training as she grew. Her usefulness grew and with it her station, while still a slave she had her own chambers, clothes, meals with some of the lower officers and bureaucrats. When he held his meetings or his court her master would have her nearby, his favorite pet when it came to business. His palace and the race occasions he left it where her entire world, while she could read about anywhere she wanted and she did. Distant wars, legendary heroes and villains, planets so beautiful as to make one cry. Places and things that enthralled her but yet also she was safe from. While her life hung by but a thread, she could easily say it was a happy life. Enjoying her work, taking pleasure in pleasing her master, that his success was her own.

Towards the end of this illustrious career she was told to replace the spymaster who had been recently, killed. Taking up his duties, managing contacts and spies with other crime lords, police and even governments she learnt quickly how to run such a group and what it in entailed. If she didn't then she was certain to be the next one to die. That threat motivated her to some pretty terrible things, including have people killed, tortured, threatened, tens of them and she knew the names of each of them. At the time she didn't think anything of it, the way the world was and she had no choice but to make the best of it. Change was thrust upon her in a series of events that still don't entirely make sense to her. Sith came to see her master's collection of artifacts, a first and they scared her. They attacked her and in a way, awakened her to the Force. It turned out those Sith, where Jedi just pretending, though the damage to her was real. When they stole her away, Fen found herself thrown into the outside world, knowing nothing about it. The Jedi remained on a backwater planet for close to a week, she was allowed to do what she willed. So she walked a lot and learned a lot. There was a man, a gun for hire who came to her while she thought about her future. He was everything she was not, yet just as lost as she was. He pulled her into the underworld once more, if only for a night. That was enough though, to see just how helpless yet how much she wanted to be something more. That she wanted to be a Jedi with everything that came with it and would put in the work it required.

Hardly able to turn away someone he kidnapped she had a master and started training right away and it was apparent how very terrible at it she was. Barely able to run, or swing a stick, unable to feel or even really understand the Force. Try she did though and slowly she started to learn with the help of other Jedi she met. How to practice breathing, how to move, how to see without seeing, how to stand. Fen would also read a great deal on Jedi, different training methods and ways of thinking. Understanding what she needed to do was rarely the problem and she could easily go through the motions, it seemed however that she was weak with the force. Unable to make any easy use of it beyond her natural talent for sensing when someone lies to her. Never the less she trains every day, just as hard as everyone else to try and be something better than she was before. To make up for some of the horrible things she had done.

Force Sense: Truth Sense: When a lie is told a person's body acts differently slight, subtle ways and it also ripples in the force. Sensing these ripples means that more often than not, Fen can tell when a person is lying though not what about. It only works when she is focused on the person in question and they are talking or writing.

Poke them with the glowing end.

Fen has started training some basic movements and the fighting style that is the most natural to her. From the archives rather than live masters she has been learning the way of the Standing Wave, a series of fluid motions designed to use the aggression and strength of an enemy against themselves as peacefully as possible. However she has only just started learning this.

STRENGTHS%20AND%20WEAKNESSES_zpsu6omud7q.png

Strengths:
  • Book Smart: In a wide range of fields she might actually have something useful to say on the topic.
  • Intelligent: While she doesn't know a great many things, she can find things out fast given access to a computer or even just a few books.
  • Negotiator: Used to talking in front of very violent people about very violent things makes her rather a cool head at the table along with knowing how to use threats, rewards and lie, like her life depended on it.
  • Truthfinder: Using the Force without knowing it she knows when a person is lying and is fairly good at working out the context and how to use that to her advantage.
  • Unassuming: Despite the colour of her skin she doesn't stand out, she just doesn't seem like a threat.

Weaknesses:
  • Weak: Never needing to run, lift heavy things or even walk a huge amount means she gets tired easily and is physically less than average. She will push herself until she physically drops but even that isn't terribly far compared to most beings.
  • Sheltered: Billions of every day things in the universe are brand new to her, as such she makes numerous mistakes. She also often talks about recent events as if they are the distant past.
  • Listless: Without being given a goal to work towards, its almost impossible for Fen to work out what she should do. Just spending days failing to come up with any sort of useful plan.
  • Not a fighter: Her knowledge of fighting is pretty much that she can make a fist, she has never thrown it, nor does she have any idea how hard you should hit a person, if she even could.
  • Spacephobia: Fen has developed a fantastic case of, making her ill at ease in spaceships/stations/etc, exacerbated by windows, airlocks and the threat of being asked to put on a space suit.
