Fealty
For centuries, Nimban owed fealty to the Hutt Council, sending scores of its people as ‘indentured servants’ as part of a millennia-old contract negotiated by the Hutt lords of old. However, with the fall of the Empire, and the subsequent rise of the Republic and its successor states, this contract was declared void, and elements of the Nimbanese state deviated from the path the Hutts laid out for them.
Empowered by the Hutt Grand Council, a detachment from Nal Hutta has been sent to renegotiate this deal. Nimban, despite the pressures of many other powers, has remained in the clutches of a handful of powerful Nimbanese families, eager to advance their wealth and position. Perhaps fealty to the Hutts, and a renewed process of indenture for their subjects, could be a way to achieve this?
