Faction Name: The Desilijic Crime Family


Expansion Justification: Having been active as a faction for just over two months (and before that active as the Exchange) we can now claim 14 members, with several other characters interacting through contracts. Our Members work hard to develop stories for others, and our Hutt Players are working on a system to support and foster story development for other players and characters.


In addition, with the large number of threads we have done on Nar Shaddaa alone, it would be good to build up our influence, and finally lay claim to the Grid as a base for operations and growth in the future.

Faction Name: The Desilijic Crime Family

FACTION NAME: The Mandalorian Dominion
EXPANSION JUSTIFICATION:
The Mandalorian Dominion has been hard at work securing their assets in the Mid Rim, first turning their eyes to the Bothans, who pose the largest thread to their new Dominion in the Mid Rim.
[Dominion Mission] Bothawai Blackout
Two Dominion operatives infiltrate a Bothan compound and sabotage it to limit and eliminate enemy communications and lower the lightshields of surrounding bases.
[Dominion Mission] Send Them to Get Coffee
Two Dominion operatives infiltrate the Bothan intelligence headquarters and steal their intelligence date. They also hack the Bothans network to gain access to the entirety of their intelligence network.
[Dominion Mission]Over the River and Through the Woods
Two Dominion operatives infiltrate and explosively destroy the planet of Bothawai's primary shield generator and the outpost that protects it.

FACTION NAME: - The Desilijic Crime Family (soon to be ‘The Corporate Alliance’)
EXPANSION JUSTIFICATION: - Having secured the grid square containing Nar Shaddaa and Nal Hutta, in addition to running missions on Manaan, Etti IV, Ylesia and the Asteroid Belts of the Hutt Space; we have seen our membership increase (going from around seven members, to nineteen, with twenty-two active PCs). Alongside this, we have absorbed a new faction; which has been incorporated into the write up below. CNN has been more active than before, and with new plot lines planned with indie players and factions alike, expanding the faction appears (in my eyes) justified, so as to enable it to reposition itself into a place in which it can become a bigger player on a Galactic Scene.

The Corporate Alliance

Formed out of a mutual interest in Corporate Indiependence, the Corporate Alliance is known as a ‘Shared Business Entity’ in which each company that serves as a signatory to the Corporate Alliance owns a small share holding in one another; centered around a core entity known as the ‘Corporate Alliance Executive Directorate’ which serves to facilitate the cooperation of the Companies and to manage their sectoral Security Forces.

Whilst it strives to ensure that it continues to have a spotless Corporate image, the Corporate Alliance is in fact plagued with corruption, and is widely considered to be one of the main suppliers for the Black Market in the more ’Civilised’ parts of the Galaxy. Lead by the ‘Corporate Alliance Executive Directorate’, which serves as a meeting place for the CEO’s and Shareholders of the three ’Core Founders’ of the Alliance, the Group is made up of the ’Chiewab Amalgamated Pharmaceuticals Company’, ’Czerka Arms’ and the ’Desilijic Trust’ making it the largest Corporate Entity in the Galaxy.

The following Corporations make up the Directorate of the Corporate Alliance, which professes to be a democracy by ‘Shareholder Directive’, the truth of course is far different, with 15% of the shares in each Corporation being held by its fellow founders (for example, the Desilijic Trust is owned thusly; 15% Chieweb, 15% Czerka Arms, 15% Desilijic Trust and 55% other).

One of the largest companies in the Health Sector of the Galactic Economy, and unsurprisingly, one of the worst ’Big Pharma’ companies out there, Chieweb is a major player in the research and testing field, as well as one of the premium provides or medical drugs. Using this to fund research into new areas, and well known to prefer a ’Treatment over cure’ approach to dealing with medical issues, Chieweb also has subsidiaries in the BioTech and Chemicals market, and is often sighted as one of the primary reasons for increased costs of living in the outer-rim, as well as the main contributory factor to escalating food prices.

It was formed as part of a deal with the now-defunct Weztron group, in which it gained a significant stake in the Kolto Guilds of Manaan, a deal negotiated by the Desilijic Trust.

Criminal Activities - Making extensive use of the Black Market, the Pharma Company develops and then sells via wholesale to a vast network of dealers and smugglers, Spice and a vast plethora of other narcotics. Operating well within the Slavery Market as well, usually hiding this through its drug testing operations, the Company is well established in the field of ‘Advanced Combat Slaves’, using Drugs and Implants to improve the ‘stock’ which is then pitted in the arena, or sold on. With its main product lines being proven to be insanely popular with Smugglers and other such criminal types, the Company's new management embraced the fact of their Criminality, and relocated their main Operations to Hutt Space.

Establishing themselves as the primary developer and wholesaler into the Black Market, which now dwarfs their sales into the more conventional markets of the legal world, the Company purchased the CNN group to reunite the Czerka brand, as well as opening its own Science & Research branch for the development of more cutting edge weapons.

Criminal Activities - Huge in the illegal arms trade, Czerka arms weapons find their way into almost every war zone in the galaxy. Using a network of criminals and smugglers to sell their firearms, it is actually the case that the company makes more from its black market sales than it does from its legal contracts. The original proposers of the formation of the ’Corporate Alliance’ the ’Desilijic Trust’ is the trading name of the legitimate side of the Desilijic Kajadii, a crime Family of Hutts that sits at the head of the Hutt Council on Nal Hutta. Starting out as street Gangsters and Brokers of Black Market contracts, the families operations grew under the command of the brothers Nor’baal and Keddo Desilijic, to become one of the largest Criminal & Corporate entities in the Sector.


Controlling a vast network of smugglers, it was easy for the Hutts to make a move into bulk freight haul, both by hyper-rail and space bound. Combined with their fuel interests in Jiguuna and Sleyheron, the family collectivised their efforts into a trust and proposed the foundation of the ’Corporate Alliance’ to keep pace with their rapid pace of expansive growth.


Criminal ACtivities: Whilst the Hutts do not share the same understanding of Crime as the more civilised planets, many worlds would consider the ‘Protective Taxes’, and flagrant use of Gangs to extract money and goods from locals near their zones of operation, as crime. Hosting Bounties, forming protection rackets and running illegal pit-fights are a huge part of the Desilijic Trusts business. All criminal activities listed here are publicly denied by the company.


Corporate Alliance Defence Executive (C.A.D.E)

’’Prevention. Protection. Retaliation.’’

With the assistance if the Independant Assault Unit (a group that was sponsored by the former Desijilic crime family), C.A.D.E is a rapid reaction force, that not only servces to protect the interests of the Corporate Alliance, but also as a new revenue stream; for it is well known to rent its services out to others.

Many Corporations of old employed an almost paramilitary force to protect their interests. The Corporate Alliance avoids such expenses through C.A.D.E, which operates in two distinct branches which are as follows:


Military Contractors - When a significant threat or issue arises, C.A.D.E provides contracted work to noted individuals to act in the interest of the company. These contracts are issued and posted when a severe situation arises, payments are high, and lengths of these contracts can vary greatly.

OOC: Effectively a Bounty Board, this group is supplied with the top of the range equipment, and is effectively an ad-hoc army contracted when needed most.


Security Personnel - Day to Day security is also arranged by C.A.D.E, with relevant gear and tactics. Functioning more like a police force, and serving to protect key personnel and escort them, the Security Department is a small team, issued with standard gear.

OOC: This group is mostly for those who wish to PvE or do investigate/intelligence work.


Criminal Activities - C.A.D.E has only one Criminal Activity, Corporate Espionage and Sabotage. It activity looks the other way when it comes to the company's unethical and illegal practices, and viciously protects the image and brand of the Corporate Alliance, through Corporate Authorised Force when required. Quite simply, the C.A.S.E do not accept any law other than the whim of the Board. All criminal activities listed here are publicly denied by the company.

Should 2-3 people wish to form an investment group with interests in one of the other two Corporations, let me know and we shall review this rule. Intent



As the Desilijic Faction has grown, so to has its membership base and capabilities on a wider Galactic scale. Looking back over various factions, I have begun to notice a pattern in what people enjoy, and is is my intent to cater to those needs through this faction; providing immersive and enjoyable story telling opportunities for everyone here to enjoy. Overall, that is the goal: To provide a neutral entity on the Galactic Stage that tells the story of the foundation of the Corporate Sector.

To go into more detail, please read on.

PvP Players - Catering to people's desire to engage in Player Versus Player combat is also a concern here, and that is what i envisage the Security Section doing, on a contract basis. Rather than providing a rank & file military force, we intend to provide a mercenary based, contract lead group; that uses people on a avase by vase basis to attain certain objectives, be it neutralising threats, or claiming/defending grid squares. This provides enjoyment, and flexibility to our PvP based members.

Passive RP - Alongside this, there is a considerable element of the playerbase who prefer to avoid PvP, and invest considerably into the characters stories, not wishing to place them at risk. However a lot of the time these players are also concerned that their plans and stories make no impact on the wider TL. Using the Corporate Alliance, we shall attempt to make a change here, using passive RP and PvE to run mission Arcs that could quite literally change the face of the map.a

Crime - One of the core areas of activity in the faction, criminal RP will be the usual stuff we have seen in the Exchange and Desilijic Factions. Piracy, Smuggling, and general thuggery will be the name of the game here. This is something we have a proven track record of doing, and fully intend to continue.

Given the small number of available planets in these territories, it is reasonable to believe during the time skip the Protectorate would be able to obtain control of the sparsely inhabited territories.

Expansion Justification:
The Shadow Conclave has been at work since it began, and despite the inactivity of a few members there is still a tight-knit group of people who are pushing it forward. While not too many missions have been completed, multiple contracts (or Oblations of Ash as they’re officially called) have been carried out. In addition, the Conclave has been working with some of the other factions to achieve mutual goals.

A large amount of income has been earned from the various contracts that have been filled: 1, 2, 3, and 4.
A small safehouse on Serenno, its construction was mentioned and completed in these two threads.

FACTION NAME: The Paladins of Mortis

EXPANSION JUSTIFICATION: In the five years since their arrival on Adumar, the Paladins have worked to unite the fractious governments on the planet and succeeded after a civil war in which they backed a number of smaller states in a coalition against Cartann, the largest and most aggressive Adumari nation-state. In the aftermath, the victorious perators elected Grand Master Helin Tyris to serve as their first Empress-- a title which, by her own decree, does not extend past Adumar and the wider Katorrs system, as she considers it and any future gains to be under the domain of the Paladins of Mortis, not simply herself or the Adumari.

In the months since this unification, the Paladins sent emissaries to the Uba and Keitum systems to bring the natives of those planets under their protection, and have set up an outpost and mining facility on Aeten II to mine the planet's abundant Stygium crystals for profit with NPCs. The Paladins have no intention of using the crystals for their own purposes, for cultural reasons.

Given the small number of available planets in these territories, it is reasonable to believe during the time skip the Protectorate would be able to obtain control of the sparsely inhabited territories.

This is a little tricky. On the map, that territory is currently controlled by the Jedi. If you have the threads, you could war for the area. I'll look into the matter.

Rejected. It was never promised that a post time skip request with an explanation for what was done during the skip would be approved; only considered.

You can present an expansion request with reasons for why you believe the passage of time warrants it. We'll then review it!

The story behind it is decent, but ultimately irrelevant. The work was not put into obtaining this grid. The reluctance I have been shown to be supplied with any threads suggest to me that outside the planetary write-up very little to no work was put into obtaining this planet. If a story can be made or there's work behind it I tend to lean towards allowance, to give more opportunities. But there was a plethora of opportunities. This faction was created in January, months before the time skip. The Kjlljk Protectorate was created a couple months after Paladins and they got a lot of threads done, even earning territory (granted they sought more than one, but the evidence that they tried is still there). I am not sympathetic to lack of effort put into acquisition.

You want Adumar? Fight the Jedi for it. I may possibly be amendable to consider waiving any prerequisites needed before attacking the Jedi stronghold if given a worthy justification and evidence that something will be done. Until then, the map stays as it is.
