Lilith, The Rain, Alais, whatever anyone wanted to call her needed a drink. Drinking before taking on the very precarious task of putting together a bomb was probably not the most ideal thing to do, but she had never done anything in an ideal way outside of slicing. Slicing was the one and only things she felt completely comfortable doing, and she'd gotten a lot of experience these past years.

She'd choose to wear a more scoundrel-like outfit for this particular trip to Nar Shaddaa. Obviously, it wasn't the safest to wear her Rain outfit, since she was still wanted by the Hutts. Most of her outfit was gray, white and brown. Her belt was well hidden, thus her lightsaber hilts were as well. One was black with etched in ancient Sith in red lettering. It wasn't exactly subtle, but at least she was trying to be. She'd smothered her signature too.

When she entered the cantina, she was relatively wet from the rain and trailed some of it to a bar stool. A little grunt escaped her as she sat down, and then she promptly waved down one of bartenders, requesting something as hard hitting as possible.

This is some ridiculous weather.

Nara shuddered as she entered the cantina, shaking off a little of the wetness that'd poured onto her. Actual rain on Nar Shaddaa of all places. With her luck, it'd start eating away at her coat in half-an-instant. Probably laced with about twenty different pollutants and toxic compounds, but whatever. She was used to it. If it hadn't killed her as a kid, it wouldn't kill her now, right?

Her outfit was fairly typical for her. Brown trousers, grey top, dark boots. Blue, baggy coat over all of that, gleaming after the downpour. She lowered the hood and stepped towards the bar, leaning over it as she checked out the 'collection' of drinks that were on offer.

"Uh yeah... tell you what, I'll just have a cup of whatever's light," she said to a bartender, knowing full well that 'light' in a place like this meant 'knock you on your ass' anywhere else. But she eased herself into a seat and hefted her bag up onto the table. Opening it up to check the meds hadn't been soaked through. Nope. All there. Awesome.

She had time for a quick drink before heading back, right? Keep out of the rain for a little while. No harm in that. Didn't seem to be much going on, real quiet. Everyone else just looked down and eager to get their drinks.

"Long time no see," a male voice hissed between pointed teeth. Lilith grabbed her drink and took a sip, not even looking at the Devaronian. He shrugged, sliding a datapad to her before ordering a drink for himself.

She knew the datapad only held a list of rumors, but she had to start somewhere. Anywhere...outside of Sith oversight, which was why she choose to take advantage of her old contacts from her slicing days. There was one rumor she was already aware of; that the Darth had contacts he was working with here on Nar Shaddaa, and that he stopped here from time to time. It could be completely wrong, but she'd look into everything she heard.

Someone, or something, knew where Darth Occidius was, or more importantly where his ship was. Once she had the location, she'd track it. Part of her wondered if this was worth it, but another knew she had to do something. Anything, even if it got her killed.

...Especially if it got her killed. What did she have left? She still did not feel like she belonged to the Sith, but she could continue down the path that was laid before her. To kill. To kill and destroy and to spare others what she suffered, by any means necessary.

The Force tugged on her mind after a girl sat a few seats down and tossed her bag on the table. Lilith instinctively looked at her, almost with a confused expression, but looked away right after. It seemed the woman hadn't bothered to smother her Force signature. Did the woman have any idea what planet she was on? Lilith simply took another drink after the thought, and tried to mind her own business.

The drink was pretty dire. She raised the cup to her lips and sipped it, face wrinkling in disgust. Holy moly. Euggggh. Whatever still they'd made this out of was truly, utterly dire. She pushed the cup away and shivered, still lingering in the unbearable aftertaste as she looked up and saw the other woman looking at her.

Nara shot her a confused glance back, narrowing her eyes as she turned her head away. Hm. Kinda sus. Something a little too quick in that turn of the head. Did she recognise her at all? The last few times she'd been involved with suspicious blondes hadn't ended well for her. That made her a little edgy but it stoked her curiosity.

Leave it or push it? Leave it or push it? Hmm hmm hmmm...

After a moment thinking, Nara stood up and hefted her bag back over her shoulder. Looking like she was heading to leave. She paid for her drink and slipped out of her seat. Moving along the seats like she was making for the exit. Deliberately leaning a little more in as she approached the blonde, her bag slipping down at the last second to try and smack into the blonde.

"Oh sorry! Stupid mistake!" Nara said quickly, waiting for the reaction.

The backpack hit its mark without any opposition. The young darksider clenched her jaw, taking a deep breath before downing her entire drink. Maybe needing this drink was precognition? The fleeting thought made her smile for the breifest of moments but...

The only Force user around that she could sense suddenly hitting her? Maybe a mistake, maybe not and she'd find out soon enough. She shot up from her seat, then turned and attempted to move closer. She wanted to get inches away from the woman, and it wasn't to kiss. "Kark you," she said with a grunt, not bothering to lower her voices volume, despite the proximity. Afterwards, she grabbed the datapad and headed off.

Her partner—the Devaronian—reacted a lot differently to the whole situation. He turned just as the girl passed him and hit Lilith. But all he saw was one very nicely shaped ass on the backpack girl. "Dammmm eheh, noice," he said, raising his hand and flattening it to slap the girls ass. He had no qualms with taking what was put right in front of him. This was Nar Shaddaa after all.

Lilith stormed out of the building, though her mind was still mulling over this happenstance. She decided quickly that she wouldn't waste time playing too much of this game. If the woman followed her onto the steet, she'd wait a minute walking in silence before speaking, "You're a Jedi, aren't you?"

It was a shot in the dark, though she didn't sense darkness or malice from this woman. What she did sense was a signature similar to Oren's. Plus, there was no way for this woman to tell if Lilith simply recognized her face or sensed her signature, so there wasn't a big risk admitting it to the overly curious woman.

"I'm not your enemy, or interested in seeing you get hurt, so get lost," she added.

Nar Shaddaa had kind of imploded since his last visit and considering his last visit had been during a viral outbreak that basically made zombies? Well it said something about how unsustainable crime and crime lords were that it had been months and it had only gotten worse. Like, a lot worse.

Bad enough that he decided to step foot on the hellhole again.

Of course when he wandered around Nar Shaddaa he tended to find all sorts of scum and villainy trying to do terrible things to young people. It was just a pattern he had observed and it seemed to be holding true. He was barely through the door to the canteen when he noticed a Devaronian molesting a woman.

Lovely place.

However there was something else that pinged against some part of his mind. The part of his mind that connected to the Force told him that he recognized the blonde who left the place as soon as he arrived. Worse was that he could tell where he remembered her from.

So he followed her out into the alleyway, though he stood at the other end of it, and he stared at her for a moment before calling out to her.

"I remember Mandalore."
he called out to her, eye narrowed slightly, "Surprised you made it out of that mess."

She had to be the Sith he and Oren had met there or, rather, the Sith Oren had likely bumped uglies with and the Sith Max had met for the first time.

Nara got the reaction she wanted. She stared right at the blonde woman as she moved right up towards her and cursed at her. She could only smirk as the other woman stomped off in a huff with her datapad. Still got it, kid. Unfortunately, her feeling of bratty triumph was interrupted by someone being a little more handsy than they should be. The smile fell from her face as she span around on the heel of her boots, glaring as she flattened her palm and rammed it as hard as she could up against the bridge of his nose, until she felt it crunch hard.

"Heh... nice," she drawled before making to leave, quickly slipping out of the cantina. Every second she lingered there after would be inviting a fight. One she'd win, for sure, but brandishing blasters and lightsabers in bars wasn't exactly developing a positive reputation for herself or the Order.

Instead, she followed the other woman outside, until she was called out for what she was. Good guess. Nara tried to sense anything coming from her and couldn't detect it, though that didn't necessarily rule anything out. She'd had sore experiences with people hiding their signatures before. She held her hands up, stopping in place.

"It's not a crime to be a Jedi, y'know. If I was one," she said brightly, automatically taking the opposite tone to the other woman. She's angry and she leaps to swearing and veiled threats quickly. She's either shady as heck, or she's me at 16.

That was when Nara heard a familiar voice, turning to see none other than Master Tionson there. Speaking to the blonde. Nara lowered her hood to reveal herself to him.

"Master Tionson? You know her?" she asked suspiciously, looking between the both of them. The look on his face didn't bode well... though he often wore that look in her experience. Her hand moved towards her belt, just in case.

She listened to the Jedi following her, snorting at the sort-of-but-not-really denial. "Right, 'if'..." she muttered. That made it more obvious. Now Lilith was covinced she was a Jedi.

She was going to continue with this Jedi, when she heard another voice. She knew that voice.

As soon as she heard it, she stopped and turned around. What was going on on this planet? Was it infested with Jedi now? Little Oren's running around annoying the kark out of everyone? He was the most infuriating man she knew, but she didn't mind that. Something about the idea of snuffing out the sparse amount of good in this rotten universe felt wrong.

And no matter the depths of darkness and insanity that she'd plunged to, that was a nagging feeling that had never went away.

Instead of running, cowering, or denying, the young darksider walked towards the Jedi with zero hesitation. She wouldn't stop, go for a weapon or make any sort of sudden moves unless forced to. She didn't care how close she'd get, she wanted them to know she wasn't afraid.

But she also had no interest in fighting with them. "If you're looking for a confrontation," she started, speaking to the Jedi Master, "I'll give you one, but I have no interest in either of you two. I have no interest in any Jedi." It was mostly true, what secret interest she did have was not hostile... at least, not at the moment.

Did he know her? Kind of.

Did a member of the Jedi Council know her? In a biblical sense.

He noted the appearance of the Jedi Knight, Nara, with a small smile and a nod in her direction as a greeting. Max knew a lot of Jedi by sight and by deed and Nara was one of them. She was a good Jedi and, perhaps more importantly from Max's point of view, she was a good kid too. Though that shift in priorities probably just came with age.

"I know her."
he told the Knight without looking away from Lilith, "Met her on a mission to Mandalore with Oren. Seemed to be a fairly reasonable type."

For a Sith that usually meant she hadn't started cackling like a witch and trying to murder everyone on sight.

"Oh I'm not looking for a fight!"
he assured Lilith with a light laugh and a grin, "But I'm far, FAR, too good at sticking my nose into people's business. So hows about we just wrap this up nice and quick and give us an idea as to what it is you're doing that means you've got no interest in people you're apparently at war with?"

Oren.

Nara's eyes widened at the mention of her master. Faint cogs started turning in her brain, memories from years past and things that he'd talked about, once upon a time. When he'd come back from prison... what'd sent him there in the first place.

Why is the word 'blonde' sticking in my head so much?

She eyed the woman suspiciously now, her hand lingering close to the hilt of her saber. Just in case. "I'm not looking for a fight either," she replied cooly, suppressing the urge to add a smart comment and push the situation any further. Cool heads. Just keep it cool. Especially seeing as Max had just pretty much let drop that she was a Sith.

Blonde Sith. Blonde Sith. Why are they always blonde?

"That explains why you were staring at me so much," she said, eyebrow raised. "Wait, did you say she'd met Master Oren too?" she asked Max, her eyes not leaving the girl either. There was something really bubbling in the back of her mind. Scabs that'd been quietly healing for years, starting to tug and tear.

Lilith stopped when the Jedi Master proclaimed he wasn't looking for a fight. She was only a few steps from them, aware of the Jedi Knight's reaching for her weapon, but unphased.

The Jedi Knight made the same claim, though Lilith could sense fear, uncertainty, beneath the younger Jedi's cool exterior. At first the young darksider appeared to be thinking about the Jedi Master's question, but turned to face the younger Jedi.

"I sensed the same fear in Oren the day he fought me," she said, leaving the Jedi little time to answer or react to the news, "Is it purely light that drives the Jedi to eliminate the Sith, or is it also fear? The dark, unsettling feeling at the back of your mind. "

The young darksider choose to once again give the Jedi little chance to answer before she turned and addressed the Jedi Master. Now, all these Jedi could confirm was that she met Oren twice. Once in battle, once on Mandalore. She hoped this would protect Oren from any scrutiny that he might otherwise get from associating with her.

She was going to tell the Jedi Master nothing at first, but then thought maybe they could help her without ever figuring out exactly what she was doing. "I'm at war with no one," she said at first, addressing the tail end of his comment. "You may call me Sith, but that's not what I am."

A breeze chilled the night's air. Lilith was use to the cold, so she stayed in place. "I'm looking for someone, and I need access to a monitoring station, a legal one or not."

Talak didn't regret leaving the Sith for the Jedi, but he still hadn't managed to shake the feeling that he was listless. No amount of introspection had resolved that issue with him, so he decided to do what he did best: hunting.

Unlike his days with the Sith, however, it wasn't just for the purpose of assassination. In fact, pinning down a singular reason for what he was doing now wasn't easy. He was going to look for Lilith, and he knew she wouldn't be happy about it.

But tracking Force users was a long time skill of the Sith assassin. In the days of old, there were assassins who could sense and feed off of the power of their targets. They could sense and track them from across the galaxy. Talak knew techniques like this, and a person who he was familiar enough with, he could find. At least if the Force was with him.

It was no surprise that the trail had led him back to Nar Shaddaa. This was where the two of them had first met, and it was where she felt comfortable. He could sense the turmoil within her. It wasn't just the result of the darkness. There was conflict. She was lost and given the fact that he was at least partially responsible for that, he was going to make another attempt to pull her back.

He made his way into the cantina, wearing his normal, simple garb and gear but without his short sword. No point in that today. He wasn't here for a fight. What surprised him was the feeling in the Force here.

The entirety of Nar Shaddaa was a deep brown of desperation and despair. He could feel the flashes of red, anger and darkness that he presumed emanated from Lilith, but then there was something else as well. A light blue, duty perhaps? Resolution? Something that was at least in stark contrast to the rest of this world. Jedi? Sector Rangers?

Jedi, it seemed. Master Tionson he recognized and someone else with them. Now that he was here, he wasn't even sure what he was supposed to say. He knew Lilith wouldn't want to see him, but he hadn't expected to have to have this... confrontation in front of other people.

It's been a while, he finally said after a moment, though it was likely that she would have sensed him approaching even before he spoke. He'd not tried to hide himself.

Yeah, he and Oren had met this particular Sith before on Mandalore but he knew enough to know that Oren had met her before. But that wasn’t exactly his place to say anything about that – he would let Oren tell Nara that if he wanted to. Instead he just nodded in answer to Nara, confirming that he and Oren had met her on Mandalore. Wasn’t really a lie when the truth wasn’t his to share, he reasoned to himself.

Hmm.

She might be a Sith but she had a point – many Jedi went out into the Galaxy to combat the Sith but there were more than a few did so because of fear. Fear of what the Sith would do or what they had done. It was completely understandable and even relatable on some level but it was not the Jedi ideal that they strove for.

“Not all Jedi.”
He spoke with a small smile, “We can but try to be better.”

She wasn’t at war huh?

Either she was trying to tell him she was no longer a Sith (the feeling of her in the Force told him that was a lie) or that she was having issues within the Sith Order. The Sith being what they were, he believed that last idea more.

“Trouble in the paradise of the Sith Order?”
he teased her with a small grin, “Forgive me if I have the urge to say ‘I told you so’ to some former colleagues… hey Talek.”

Totally not a point he was making actually but good timing.

Huh. This is getting weird now. Mysterious blonde Sith women that knew both her Master and Master Maxims. The mention of fighting Master Oren turned Nara's face harder, becoming much more of a scowl. Any other thoughts lingering in her head disappeared in a wash of judgement.

Like I'd trust what some Sith girl says.

"Oh yeah, sure. A monitoring station. I'm sure you're just innocently catching up on the local gossip," Nara snarked, still staring at the other woman as Max talked to her with more calm and courtesy. Whether she deserved it was another matter, but that was probably why Max was the Master and Nara was the young Knight.

The arrival of the newcomer took her by surprise. So focused on that little confrontation that she hadn't been paying attention to their surroundings. C'mon Nara, focus. She looked over at him, vague familiarity stirring inside her. He was a Jedi, she was pretty sure. She'd seen him in the background a few times, keeping his distance or talking quietly with some of the others.

Wasn't he at Nash and Saul's funeral? Jeez, that was a while ago.

"Oh. Great. Is there anyone in the Order who isn't best friends with this Sith... sorry, not-Sith?"
she muttered, wondering just who the heck she was.

The young darksider raised her chin slightly and smiled at the Jedi Knight. It was... both surprising and entertaining that she'd gotten under a Jedi's skin. Outside of Oren's initial fear, he had been an impenetrable wall of kindness and patience. She'd thrown a Force damn cup at the man's face once, and he'd stood there and forgiven her a second later. It was a shock that someone like that existed. And now she knew that it wasn't a Jedi trait, or one that all of them had.

She listened to the Jedi Master answer anyway, with the same interest she'd shown Oren when he talked. The question wasn't just to throw the Jedi off, she was genuinely interested in hearing his answer.

Her focus on the Master, however, did not last long enough to process his following words. The Force rippled, and everything else around her was drowned out by the wave that violently crashed against her fragile mind. It was a signature that sent a rush of emotions throughout her, so much so that she almost forgot to breath.

The moment Talak came into view a switch went off in Lilith's mind. She looked down, trying to fight it all off. The volatile emotions. The never ending conflict within her. The haunting memories that had ate away at her sanity all these years.

Her hands shook to the sides of her head, cradling it. All she could do was whisper a "Why...." at first, but then anger took hold. "WHY!?" she screamed, her pitch echoing off the ally's cold walls.

She looked at Talak as her eyes churned with a sickly yellow, and he'd feel darkness within her greater than he'd ever felt before. "I'll kill you. I'll kill you if take a single step closer to me," she hissed.

...but even at the peak of her anger, a knot in her stomach told her that she couldn't really bring herself to attempt that. Even if he had tortured her. Even if he had sentenced her to mercy of the darkness and left. It was another conflict within her that only made her more angry.

It took a few seconds to even process that she'd threatened a Jedi in front of two other Jedi, yet she didn't care. For numerous reasons. "I don't have time for you, for any this," she growled, turning and walking away if nothing impeded her. She started walking towards the nearest monitoring station. It wasn't far away.

Things hadn't started out so well. She really did hate him, didn't she? He had hoped that perhaps with greater time apart her anger might have cooled, but that clearly wasn't the case. He could feel the flare of red in the Force tear through the room like fire. Rage poured out of her, but even now he could sense the conflict.

Why? Will that bring you peace? he asked after she threatened to kill him. It was the kind of questions he always asked. He wanted her to examine her thoughts and motivations. It had fueled her fall to the dark side, and perhaps it would pull her out as well.

He wasn't sure what the other Jedi would make of this, and he felt somewhat awkward that this confrontation might be happening in front of others, but he forced the thought from his mind.

She started to walk away, and he promptly followed her. He had no intention of simply letting her off that easy. As he moved, he cast a glance to the other two Jedi, raising his eyebrows as if to say "well, this is awkward" but didn't slow his pace regardless of whether they would come as well.

Max chuckled a little bit at Nara's attitude - it wasn't really becoming of a Jedi but it was also VERY understandable. Between himself and Talek she now had two Jedi who were acting like the Sith in front of her was something of an old friend rather than an enemy. He shrugged a little bit and held up a hand.

"I barely know her."
he joked right back, "You're probably more her friend than I am."

Oh but her reaction to Talak was... telling.

The Dark Side surged in response to her anger and hate and... remorse and guilt and sadness. Ugh. He missed when Sith were one-note wounders that could be seen through with a keen eye. Max rested his hand on his stun baton for a second before sighing a little bit.

So he started walking after her alongside Talak.

"Take note Nara, this is the trouble with ex-girlfriends."
he joked again, before calling out to the Sith again, "This person you're looking for... you going to kill them when you find them I suppose? Anyone I know?"

Fishing for information without being an arse was hard for him.

Max was doing what he did best, needling someone to the point of irritation. She was mildly impressed at his determination and craft, even if she felt his words lacked a certain raw annoyance behind them.

"Oh yeah, I'm famously good at making friends, especially with Sith. Though I guess that's what we do these days," she said, fighting back the urge to roll her eyes. For now, Max's words were focused on the mysterious Sith-ish woman and... well, she didn't want to take it away.

She felt the rage that surged out of her though, the Dark Side pulsing around them. It gave Nara the shivers, making her hairs stand up on end. Her face paled a little more, clearly not happy with that particular experience. She wondered whether to follow or just leave it to the other two Jedi. She didn't need to be here. She clearly wasn't invited to the Sith pity-party, but curiosity won out again. And nosiness, don't forget that.

As if I'm leaving a Sith girl wandering around near my clinic, without knowing what she's doing.

"Who'd have standards that low?" Nara muttered back towards Max, but she was unsure if she heard him. Instead, she wondered about their new Sith friend.

"You know the Hutts have been all over this Sector lately, since the... y'know, walking dead thing?" she called out. "That monitoring station better be hidden real well."

Would it bring her peace? She thought for a few seconds, but her answer came back swiftly, "Every death brings me closer to 'peace'" she said, though her voice quieted to a near whisper. She didn't know if he'd understand or even hear her, but she'd always wondered if there was a way to push herself, just a little further, perhaps the darkness would set her free- break her chain, break her of all the doubts.

At this point she half-expected some sort of attack from the three Jedi, she wasn't exactly being subtle anymore. She'd accept any fate as a result. Putting herself in grave danger had became a passtime to her at this point.

Instead of waiting for Talak to pick at her again, however, she turned around abruptly and stopped to look at him. "Why do you still care?" she started, but she wouldn't let him answer just yet. "Maybe you haven't heard, but I attacked Trys. I attacked her, and I told Ender everything. And you know why?"

Her fingers curled inward, as if to grip something. "Because Ender hunted me down. Because you tortured him too. Because you lead him down the same path and betrayed him too. You created monsters, Talak. Not one, but two, and it's about time you accept that," she finally finished, her voice eerily even for what she was saying, and the reaction the news might provoke. But her words had one purpose and one purpose only.

Lilith finally looked at the Jedi Master, who was more than obviously trying to pry. All she did was smile at him before she abruptly summoned the Force and leapt onto the top of a building. She wasn't going to stop trying to complete her mission, even with three Jedi on her tail. Besides, if he really wanted information from her he'd have to take her in and interrogate her.

They had all just begun to walk when Talak heard Max's comment. He stopped and spun abruptly enough as to almost make the Jedi Master walk into him. He was eyes to eye with the man and it would have been evident even if he had no eyes that Talak wasn't amused.

I didn't date my apprentice, he hissed before turning again. He wasn't going to argue with the man, and he knew there were more important issues to deal with, but that was something he could not allow to stand.

Really, he said as she said that deaths brought her closer to peace. He knew that wasn't true, and the reason he knew it was because he had been there too. He had killed, hoping to fill the void, and it only worsened the symptoms. There was never satisfaction or peace. Only more hunger.

He followed her up to the top of the building, having missed the conversation about what she was here to do, he had no idea what she was doing. He wasn't sure he could let her go through with it, but that time hadn't come yet.

He wasn't going to argue with her about how she had gotten started as Sith. Trys had said it to him before, and while he still wasn't certain he believed it wholeheartedly, a part of him knew she was right: he had set them on this path, and they had chosen it. He had offered his hand to pull them out and they had wanted none of it. Eventually, they were responsible for their own actions.

He was done playing around. He reached out and grabbed her shoulder, spinning her around but rather than facing a lightsaber blade or an attack, she would see that his own saber hilt was floating between the two of them at eye level, emitter pointed toward the sky.

Killing will bring you peace like it did before I met you? he pointed out that she was on the path of murder long before she'd met him I'm responsible for you walking the path of darkness that you continue to choose? he pointed out.

Then finish it. Kill the source of all your anger, all your hatred, everything that you can't stand, and then take a good hard look at the path you walk, he said. It wasn't him. She could blame him for everything that had happened to her, but if she took even a moment to ponder, she would know in her soul that she was deceiving herself. And yet the hilt was there, tempting her to seize it and strike him down.
