A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away....

STAR WARS

Episode I

A DARK CLOUD RISES

It is a period of civil war. THE GALACTIC REPUBLIC fights fiercely against the tyrannical HUTT EMPIRE. They are two large forces fighting against each other for domination of the galaxy. People who work in between both of their worlds illegally, are usually smugglers.

Lumen Sorus is a smuggler, and he is well known for his inability to be captured, even by Jedi. His buried presence in the Force has aided him, as well as his cunning and wit. However, there is a lot more to his life than smuggling items across the stars.

Sorus is being pursued by the mysterious force known as THE DARK CLOUD. They are a group of Dark Jedi, separate from THE BOGAN, who wish to claim Sorus's life....

The clouds gathered around a small, lonely, and bleached white house on Tatooine. It was nighttime and Lumen Sorus was asleep in his bed alone. Outside, his trusty ship known as the Red Typhoon, a ship given to him by his foster mother, was lying dormant. It was a long smuggling run that Lumen had finally completed and came home from to rest. He had almost forgotten the feel of an actual bed instead of a bunk. Lumen was having a dream that was eerily colored blue and almost like a vision. In the vision, there was a pair of Jedi and a Bogan battling in a stony type of ruin. The ruin had odd markings all over them, and it reeked of evil intentions.

The pair of Jedi were both women. One female was a human and dressed in Jedi robing. The other was a Rutian Twi'lek with a fairly dark blue skin tone, and dressed in a more revealing version of the robes that the human had. The dark Bogan was a human and dressed in an all black robe. The battle between the three was intense. Even though the pair had the advantage of numbers against the Dark Jedi, they were the ones being held back. Suddenly, the Dark Jedi uses the Force to grip the Twi'lek, and throws her into a door way. He then proceeds to impale the female woman with his lightsaber and leaves her on the ground as the Twi'lek looks on in horror. The Dark Jedi approaches the Twi'lek when the vision of the fight suddenly ends when a bolt of lightning strikes the house and Lumen awakes.

Lumen Sorus awakes in his bed, and wipes the cold sweat from his brow. It was the third heated dream that he had in the same month. They were getting more frequent as if they were signs, and Lumen was beginning to wonder where they were coming from.

What is with these dreams, thought the confused man in his bed, They are so gruesome, and they barely seem to be related to me. That Twi'lek looks very familiar, and something feels similar with that woman and Bo- a large scratching sound at the side of Lumen's wall pushes out a clear thought from his head, "Womp rats again. I thought I had killed all of them the last time they tried to get in."

Lumen rose up from his bed, and went to a corner of his hut to put on his boots and grab his blaster pistol. He then began to head outside, and kill the surrounding Womp Rats at his hut. When he got outside, he saw three of them clawing at a window near the back of the hut. Drawing his blaster, he proceeded to shoot down each of the Womp rats with his blaster's red bolts. Suddenly, a large lightning strike, too large to be natural, hits the ground close to Lumen. The sudden burst of energy startles him, and he falls back onto the ground and drops his blaster pistol close to him. Looking up into the sky, he saw that a large amount of storm clouds were circling his house in an unnatural way. There wasn't a single cloud anywhere else when he looked. Something was wrong, and the clouds seemed as if they were being generated by the Force....

A Forceful Storm

Lightning was striking at the tanned sand all around Lumen. He had an idea of what it was by the fact that only a powerful Force user could have possibly conjured up such an unnatural storm. The clouds were swirling around the building in a slow and eerie manner. Eventually they completely encased the home in what seemed to be a slow moving tornado storm. Lumen rose to his feet in an attempt to get to his ship. By the looks of it, it would seem the Dark Cloud had caught up to him despite his buried presence and best efforts to evade them. Before he could make it back to his ship, an almost perfect doorway opened in the clouds. It seemed to perfect to truly be just a ripple in the storm.

Against his better instincts, Lumen quickly went back inside his home for his lightsaber resistant sword to go through the doorway. Once he had completely realized the thread the Dark Cloud posed to him, Lumen had the sword crafted for such occasions against their Dark Jedi. None of the Dark Jedi ever used the Force against him, and they barely utilized their fullest lightsaber abilities which struck Lumen as odd. There was no reason that Lumen could think up for the Dark Jedi wanting him alive. With his sword in hand, he went back outside of his humble home. The Force storm was growing more intense, but in a slightly controlled fashion, nothing was hitting Lumen. The only light came from the stars that were shining through the only opening at the top of the swirl. The wall of clouds, except for the door, was blocking all outside views. Lumen started his ship, and knew that he may have to make a quick escape.

With everything prepared, and Lumen's curiosity full peaked, he cautiously approached the doorway's exit from the main swirl. Something about the storm seemed sentient to the young man entering the doorway. Through the doorway, it seemed like there was a long hallway of clouds to a left turn. Lumen had a full realization that there would most likely be no turning back once he entered the hall. With nothing but his sword and a blaster, Lumen took his first few steps into the stormy hallway composed entirely out of dark clouds. As expected, the pathway behind him was then blocked off by surging lightning that Lumen dared not touch. Even though he was expecting something to happen, the man jumped from the sudden sound of lighting. Lumen wanted answers to the situation, but he wasn't so sure about his path through the storm now. It was just a narrow corridor of lightning clouds, and as such, Lumen was completely at its mercy.

Starting down the first hallway, it wasn't too bad. Lumen had made it to the left turn directly twenty meters or so in front of him. Turning left, he saw yet another long corridor, perhaps double the length of the original, spanning in front of him. Lumen cautiously made it halfway down the hallway before lightning blocked his path from continuing. It was the same lightning that was stopping Lumen from leaving the hallway. Turning around, he started to look and see if there was another way opening or perhaps another way around the lightning. Just when he thought nothing had changed, to the right of him, a doorway was opening up. Lumen, at first, thought it was an opening, and he was going to try and go through. Suddenly a figure shadowed and hidden by a dark cloak, and brandishing a red lightsaber, began to step through the eerie opening...

A Dark Jedi

The figure that was dressed in dark clothing was a dark Jedi. With his lightsaber blaring and the Force at his side, he walked slowly towards his prey; Lumen Sorus. With no where to run, and the rest of the hallway he was in being blocked off by the hunter, Lumen raised his blade in an attempt to form a defense against the Force-sensitive attacker. The dark Jedi ran at him and attempted to slice down at Lumen's shoulder, but Lumen was able to block the attack just in time. Lumen's opponent quickly tried to whirl his lightsaber over to Lumen's other shoulder, but that was met with the same deflection as the last attack. The dark Jedi was aggressively slicing at Lumen who was barely keeping up with the Jedi's attacks. Lumen was fearful that the battle may be his last. Finally, the dark jedi knocked away his prey's sword into the clouds of lightning. Lumen found himself without arm as the dark Jedi hunter was now making his approach to the scared man.

The mockery of a Jedi raised his energy sword weapon high above his head in an apparent attempt to cut Lumen down. As the red energy blade came down, it was met with opposition from Lumen. The desperate man had grabbed on to the hilt of the lightsaber, and was attempting to overpower the dark Jedi. Lumen was fighting strength for strength in a battle for his own life. Strength was not Lumen's highest asset, and as such, the dark Jedi who had superior skill and strength, was beginning to win. Lumen thought quickly about what he had to do, as the stalemate was slowly but surely going into the dark Jedi's favor. Both men were grunting as the blade got closer and closer to Lumen's face. The rage of the dark Jedi was too much for Lumen to overcome. Before the final push was made, Lumen quickly moved to the side of the dark Jedi. The mad dark Jedi's slice had cut clean through air as Lumen made his opposition against him. Clouded by his anger and rage at his failure to make the last move, the dark Jedi clumsily made an attempt to get back up. However, he did not see that his blade was still out in front of him. Lumen made a quick action to kick at the hands of his attacker who was still on the ground. The kick swung the red lightsaber blade up into the dark Jedi's eyes. The dark Jedi screamed out in pain before falling unconscious with his lightsaber still ignited in one hand.

Lumen was breathing heavily at the near death experience that his confrontation with the dark Jedi had brought. It was almost too close for Lumen to call, and if he had remained in that hold with the dark Jedi for one more second, Lumen would be dead. Now with his weapon out of reach, Lumen was left with no other option then to take the dark Jedi's still ignited lightsaber. It was a fortunate thing that the lightsaber was still active, as the desperate man had no idea how to turn the thing on. It was a weapon that Lumen had little experience with, but he was able to grasp the basic physics. It wasn't like he was going to do anything complicated with it, so it would make a some what good defense. Just as Lumen had the lightsaber in hand, the storm reached out from the walls of the clouds. Instead of Lumen, it sought to claim the dark Jedi who had failed to kill him. Why it wouldn't just take Lumen, was a mystery. Perhaps killing Lumen was not the Dark Cloud's intentions...
