Attempts at comedy are still cringeworthy, the animation also still seems stilted and weird, it feels much less fluid than other CG Animated shows that I've seen. More and more I wish they'd decided to do this show's animation in the vein of shows like Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo.

It also suffers from the same "characters appear to be able to do anything and survive everything so there's no tension or excitement" problem that I've seen from other clips before.

I'm not sure that my opinions on the show can middle down any further until it becomes just pessimistic.

I've noticed with this and also with the Clone Wars, that the animation felt very "stop-motion" -esque. Move-stop-move-stop etc. Stilted as Kaeb says. I wonder why that is? Is it a stylistic choice?

Makes me miss the old Genndy Tartakovsky Clone Wars mini series. Say what you will about it, but the animation was really well done and fluid.

Even for a kids show, I am amazed at how incompetent they show the imperials to be.

"Just going to run up at point-blank distance, shoot the TIE, then have the precision to shoot the leaking gas, killing myself in the blast radius."

When I was a kid, I stopped watching a lot of shows when I expected them to be more serious minded, but weren't. As Kaeb said, the lack of tension and excitement is problematic, and I disapprove.

The thing for me is that it feels more like... early Clone Wars (CGI one), where there was an almost inconsistent pacing to the animation itself. Especially when the action got going, things would flow almost too quick, so it just felt... weird.

And for some reason they've gone (or fallen) back to that, rather than what they seemed to have going by the later seasons. More over, it seems like they're trying for more expressiveness, with more exaggerated mouth movements, visible reactions in the eyes, just generally moving more, but because of the inconsistency it just adds to this uncanny valley effect, I think.

Lrn 2 shoot skrubs.

Seriously though...it's like they're all given implants to make them as mentally challenged when dealing with adversity as possible. Either that or the Imperial Army equivalent of 4/20 was happening the same day that this travesty befell them, and the only segment of troops not blazing up were these morons.

Yeah, like I get the running joke in some areas of the fandom that the Stormtroopers were incredibly incompetent in the Original Trilogy, but there was a sort of grounded balance and presentation to those scenes, a certain pacing to their capabilities.

It wasn't until the Jedi that Stormtroopers became comically incompetent once they get attacked by the Teddy Bear brigade, which is my least favourite series of sequences in the OT because it feels tonally inconsistent, despite the fact that I knew what they were going for.

Here, they're just taking it to the nth-degree of silliness, and I think they were hoping that would make it entertaining when instead it does the opposite.

Well, I'm increasingly becoming fond of this show. My only gripe would be that the Stormtroopers shot the leaking fuel, because that just seems like a dumbass move for anyone to make. Other than that, this looks rather funny. Warms my heart to know Zeb has an electrostaff, though I keep thinking he sounds like Hugh Jackman. Which... is just amusing.

That was awful. The music especially was really grating.

The animation was really sterile, there's like no textures to anything, its all really bland.

Otherwise, I enjoyed it.

I agree with what's been said in this thread regarding it being inconsistent. Nonetheless, I enjoyed it on the whole. It's like The Clone Wars in that it could be much better, but is still fun and enjoyable. I also liked that this short was basically straight out of Raiders.

Slightly disappointing. I won't judge it too much until the show premiers, though.
