Being a first-time voter, I've been extremely curious for those that have already voted across the United States.

Now, don't get me wrong. I'm not looking for another debate over whomever was your favorite candidate and why, but simply your poll experience. How long did you wait? Did you even wait at all? What about the lines; the people; the atmosphere?

As for myself, the whole experience was quite surreal. Given that it had been raining to some degree throughout the day, I wasn't surprised to find only several people down at the station, and before long I was already at a table lined with several older women. They were all quite friendly, and simply couldn't stop raving about the fact that I was a first-time voter. I didn't even have to tell them either, probably because my face is like that of a young child on the verge of adolescence - but never mind that. After they catalogued me 'n stuff, they ushered me over to a meager ballot (which was directly facing those at the table, so only my diminutive self could only block the machine while I voted). Not that I had a problem, it only took me a second before I was finished. Afterward, they offered me a sticker and I was done!

So, to get to my own point: if you haven't voted yet (y'all probably have already tho), go now! If this complete loser who just turned eighteen seldom a week ago can do it, you sure as hell can. Unless you're like @Vosrik, stuck in Canada; doing Canadian stuff.

Canadian scum. Probably so smug as this election unfolds. Pffft.

Had a pretty good time as a first time voter also. Never really bothered with it the past, but the wife really wanted me to go so I did. Lol

Got there when they opened and it was slammed already but it still only took about 30 minutes total. The fancy voting machines are pretty nifty.

Where I voted, it was like, empty man. People were going in and out but it was far from jam packed or even slightly crowded. at least half the voting machines were empty at all times.

But the staff were great. I accidentally shook one's hand (very loosely, shook, more like, i placed my hand in her palm and then froze realizing I was being an idiot) when I was supposed to give her my ticket but she was nice enough to take it in stride.

Did I mention I'm the most awkward person in existence?

But it was still fun. I hope I spelled my write-in's names correctly

Oh, and sorry for the double post, but I noticed something very odd about my ballot.

Y'see, in PA, we have a little ballot measure to vote on that essentially asks if we'd like to raise the mandatory retirement age for all our state judges/judicial positions from 70 to 75.

However, while everywhere fricking else (ballotpedia, other sites like that, etc) it says it in plain english, on the actual ballot you get right at the polling place, it's just mentioned that the vote is to make the age 75. People who go to the polls thinking that judges have no mandatory retirement age or retire older might vote yes instead of no, and there are a LOT of people who don't care about little things like this until they see it right in front of their faces and don't research beforehand.

Like I realize it's such a small thing but i mean. Woah. That's a little manipulative tbh.

I can't vote because I'm a 14 year old scrub, but I did go with my parents.

There were literally only two other people there. The ballots were manual and had a lot to fill out. There were pieces of rectangular white cardboard around it with the word "Vote" on it.

Seemed pretty easy to me.

I am much happier with Prime Minister Pretty Face than either Crooked Hillary or Heil Trumpler. Thank you.
And I really hate your electoral system. It is messy.

Voting for the first time was quite underwhelming. I waited in line for about an hour, then voted behind a cardboard box, then went home.
I understand that voting is really important, but I wish Canada was a direct democracy instead of a representative democracy. :]

No lines, chill atmosphere with no campaigning at all, the machines recorded my votes accurately with no issues (PA so that's notable) and I was out of there in like 4 minutes.

Was quick and easy for me. Went and voted early so there were no lines, in and out within minutes.

Pretty much no wait for me, lots of people but it all just moved really smoothly. Went in, did it, went home to go watch the news. Yeeha

I was an early voter, so no wait whatsoever. Had to get up at 6:30 in the morning after getting just an hour's sleep, but other than that, everything went nice and smooth.

Washington has early voting and mail in ballots. So my voting experience was filling out the ballot while having a nice glass of milk with some donuts in my kitchen.

First time voting in PA (have voted several times in Florida). Took me about two minutes and about half of that was spent trying to figure out the buated machine they put me on. Much less of a hassle than voting in Fl

I went through the trouble of registering for overseas voting and having an absentee ballot sent to me, just so I could throw it in the trash.

I got in line at 545 am here in Virginia, and it was already over 50-70 deep. It was 36 degrees F even though the forecast said the low was 49. Only took about 30 min to get through the line. We had a paper ballot we put into machine after filling it out.

We only had the incumbent congressman running, so my roommate, who was with me, wrote in "Sweet meteor ó death".

Maybe next election.

Have a pretty flexible work schedule so went in around 2 pm in Virginia, no lines at all. Literally walked in, was handed a sheet, and was out in a total of 5 mins.

...Not that it helped stop the apocalypse..
