DESCRIPTION
The EE-1 Blaster Carbine is a weapon fit for purpose. Designed for the close quarters combat of naval boarding actions, its compact size and two-handed grip are essential for fighting at extremely close ranges. Simple, rugged, but lacking in many of the features of a full-sized rifle, the EE-1 sacrifices accuracy for utility. Though officially rated for 75 meters, with an optional scope, the recommended use-case is combat within 50 meters or less. Design demands for the smaller frame necessitated more robust internal components, leaving it with a similar weight to larger rifles.

LEGALITY
Illegal for civilian use.

INTENT
The intent for this weapon is twofold: to bring in a weapon with a particularly Star-Warsey look, and to create something that looks like it could be used in functional close-quarters fighting aboard a ship. Most of the weapons available are large and not suited for repelling boarders. The weapon is based on the prop sizes given for the E-11 blaster rifle in movie source material. I was unsatisfied with the large sizes for rifles in the current listed tech, and if approved this would give a template for a proper carbine-sized rifle in line with the modern definition of the term and historical movie use of blasters.

ADVANCED TECH
NO

Just so you're aware @Sandshark the LRA is in turn just a reskin of the Sith Gladius Blaster Rifle.

Also if you do a reskin you have to have all the same stats or inferior per the generic tech rules . That includes size and weight. Looking at the LRA 9200 it isn't even matching up to the original gladius and I'll be letting Faded know he needs to edit that shortly. Size and weight are characterstics that are used for balancing and keeping things from being overpowered.

@Darasaurus I increased the weight to fit the profile of the MP5 submachine gun, which is roughly the same size and configuration. If there's no problem with this other than the size difference from the other rifle, can this be moved to the main tech forum and approved?

If you are not following the rules of the generic tech rules and having the same stats (or worse) of the LRA rifle then this would no longer count as a re-skin and would be its own submission that should go in un-approved tech or be archived.

@Darasaurus I found another accepted clone to base this off of, so it should be good now.
It's best to just skip the re-skin of a re-skin. If something was missed on another reskin then both your submission and the other reskin would be invalid.

The above stats are completely different from the gladius rifle. So are Faded's and again, I've asked him to edit his submission.

Best to reskin from an approved tech item instead of a generitech submission. Generic tech submission don’t go through an approval process, they’re supposed to be self and peer reviewed and often don’t fit requirements. If you are making a reskin of a reskin, then link to the original and not the reskin.

I've moved this to the unapproved tech section. The other weapon that you picked these stats off of is going to be looked at as well as it doesn't comply with the rules either. A reskin by definition has to have the exact same stats as the original and neither this nor the XC-7 have the same stats as the gladius.

I'm sorry for the confusion then. Both were listed in the official tech manual, and to me as a new player that seemed like they were given the stamp of approval. It might be a good idea to check what's added to the list in case this happens again.

Thanks! Hopefully it can get approved on review.
