A few moments later, Kalique stepped back into the clearing they were holding in. She removed a branch that had tangled itself in her hair. "Hopefully, the tree didn't put up too much of a fight," he said playfully as he motioned for the soldiers to stand. Before they moved out, he leaned over to Kalique, speaking quietly. "If you see this Neelo again, go get him. We can't let him escape in the commotion, and you are best suited to running someone down," he said.

With the all clear given, he picked up his comm and whispered, "All Squads, begin your assault." he said before charging forward. Seconds later, they would break into the village. Jonathen's pain faded away as adrenaline seized hold of him. Blaster fire erupted as they pressed their attack.

Without the initial alarm, they had caught them somewhat off guard, though the Ewoks had begun to dig their defenses in. Jonathen raised his blaster pistol and shot two spear-wielding Ewoks as they entered the village. They dropped unconscious to the ground.

Despite the agony, Jonathen's humor was right back on point and her lips immediately curled into a smirk as she replied, "It did...but I was victorious after all". She then waited for him to give the command, however answering his order with an understanding nod before she took her position right at his flank.

The soldiers moved in on his command and charged forward, so that soon chaos erupted all around. They were outnumbered, but their advancement in technology gave them the upper hand as needed. One by one the Ewoks went down, but whenever she spotted someone aiming at either Jonathen or the soldiers close by, she stepped in.

While the Knight was used to deflecting and redirecting blaster bolts with either her lightsaber or the Force, she was now dealing with thrown wooden spears and loosened arrows with small metal peaks. It was actually easier to catch them as there was less energy behind them, but therefore hurling them back was not actually an option, so she was rather forcing them to the ground or into the nearest tree instead of into someone's flesh.

Apart from her number one target to get Neelo, the Knight was also well aware that once this was over, she very much wanted her lightsabers back. Her attentive gaze scanned the incoming foes until she did catch a glimpse of a very familiar face - the infamous leader of those little rebels.

'Got eyes on the target' she telepathically reported back to the Lieutenant, however the leader was quicker than expected and was already out of sight before she could break into a sprint. "Careful, there are more coming from the left" she called out as she could sense quite some motion coming from the incline on the left, but Kalique had the leader to pursue, thus she began moving and his direction, without fully sight on Jonathen though. On her way she had to disarm and knock out another handful of Ewoks, but she kept wondering how many more there were.

Reports came back, and squad leaders advised they were pushing into the village. No friendly casualties were reported. Blaster fire continued to fill the air as the Ewoks struggled to hold their defenses. They were close to breaking; these were not trained soldiers. They had pulled off a clever stunt earlier, but when faced with an actual conflict against a trained force, they didn't stand much chance.

He looked to Kalique as she communicated in his mind and took off at a sprint. "Follow Knight Demici!" he said, pushing forward at the front of the assault. He took shot after shot, and more and more Ewoks fell unconscious. As they surged forward to provide Kalique backup, they were met by the main force she had mentioned.

The fight crescendoed as they engaged the main force, but soon, it was being attacked on three sides. He scanned for Kalique but lost sight of her.

While Jonathen's plan seemed to work well and just like intended, Kalique's pursuit wasn't as successful. As the situation down below seemed under control and the first Ewoks even began retreating, she was forced to break the line of sight and start searching the huts to finally find Neelo again.

Was he really fleeing!? A weak move of the alleged leader, but perhaps a testimony for his irresponsibility. The chieftain would hopefully indeed deal with him appropriately, but that remained to be seen as for now she had to catch the little troublemaker first.

She was forced to deal with a few more 'soldiers' on her way until she peered into a hut that had Jonathen's and her gear on the table, but what was still missing were the lightsabers. She called a soldier in to retrieve his stuff before moving on, carefully searching not only the leader who was supposedly hiding while leaving his fighters to their fate and also staying on the lookout for her lightsabers.

Her search took her halfway across the makeshift camp before she suddenly spotted a fluffy butt pulling itself up on a ledge, not one, but two lightsabers dangling from his hips. Oh, how easy it would have been to ignite one, but she was not such a woman and this was not even what she was supposed to be.

Letting out a frustrated growl, she yanked both hilts of him and back towards her before she pulled the Ewok down. He slid down the little slope, but right as she dulled his senses she realized that this was not Neelo. Before realizing that she had yet walked into another trap, she picked up a triumphant laughter before there were not only arrows shot from various directions but also little darts thrown at her.

"Back here!" she still managed to cry out before she had to run, attempting to dodge as many incoming projectiles as possible, but while two arrows grazed her skin - one at her left calf and one across the her right arm - she was hit by one of the handcrafted darts that was now stuck in her thigh. She immediately pulled it out, expecting bad things to come from that, but she was hoping that if it was laced with any substances, it would affect her after she'd manage to pull them all out from their hiding places.

With her lightsabers set to stun, Kalique proceeded with her quest quickly and despite not wearing his head piece, Kalique did find Neelo and mananged to knock him out right away, however, by the time she was done she herself was already toppling over just like that.

The Ewoks might not have had Blasters, but the darts contained enough sedatives to bring the Knight into the realms of unconsciousness once again. Still, by the time Jonathen or his men would find her, they'd also find the infamous Neelo sleeping right next to her and ready to be delivered to the chieftain.

The fight was quick; the Ewok's out matched by the surprise attack. Those remaining in the main force tossed down their weapons in surrender. The blaster fire began to die down as the day was finally won. "Secure the village and combatants," he said, ordering over the comms.

He heard Kalique call out to the east. "C Squad, on me!" he said, sprinting in the direction of the yelling. He found the soldiers that were carrying his lost gear, and they pointed in what direction she had gone.

When he rounded the corner, he about lost it. He found their Imperial Knight, darts sticking out of her side. She let out a quiet snore, arms tangled with their target, who had also been knocked unconscious. The squad caught up to him, meeting each other's eyes as they all burst out into laughter, causing Jonathen the hunch over in a cough.

He pulled out his phone and snapped a picture. "So adorable," he said fondly. "Get her on a stretcher and secure these prisoners. I want everyone secured and ready to move out shortly," he ordered.

It was late in the day, and by the time they secured all of the prisoners, it was almost nightfall. They would head back in the morning. After everything had been settled and orders were given, he found himself sitting next to Kalique's cot. She had been subjected to enough of the sedative to leave her unconscious for hours, though the platoon's medic assured him she would be fine once she slept it off.

He had tried typing his report as he waited but found it too frustrating to type one-handed, so he had taken to relaxing back in the chair. He dozed in and out of sleep, trying to jolt himself awake when he could.

There was not much more the Knight could do before she was once again forced to take a nap. The dart was soon joined by another one while she fought for what really mattered: Getting her hands on the leader of this revolt, but the result was that the Knight, having had her hand on the bear's forehead and Neelo trying to yank off one of her lightsabers, was then left in an entangled mess with the cunning rascal.

Kalique was transported back to camp and her cuddle partner towards the chieftain directly, but the Knight didn't notice any of it. She woke on a cot in the medical track, repeatedly blinking before the blurry vision faded back into a clearer image that made her realize that she was not alone.

"They- Jonathen would soon realize that her foggy brain was not fully there yet, thus what she said was a little confusing, hit you. You had...an a-arrow in the shoulder". Someone, that was the image that flashed in her mind first. "Oh...".

One by one, the other memories came back, making her realize that she had been close to babbling nonsense. "No...sorry. Been there already" the smirk that then graced the corners of her lips was half apologetic, half tired, and she slowly stirred before she mananged to sit up rather straight. "Those...bastards. They had led me right into another trap...but I'm glad it's over". If they were both here, they had accomplished their target. Also, from what she remembered, there had been no casualties, just like they had planned.

"I'm glad you're...well relatively fine?" she stated, however realizing that his arm was still dangling from his side. "How is the arm? Do the medics assume a surgery is needed?". The concern that was bleeding into her tone was genuine, yet the way she swayed back and forth made it look slightly comical.

As she started to stir, his eyes opened as he sat forward. "Hey now, you're safe in camp," he said reassuringly as her mind pieced itself back together.

"Yes, quite crafty. We had to gag him; he kept trying to bribe some of the soldiers," he said. He worried about what would happen after they handed to rebel leader over. The next Imperial visit would likely be as willing to do things peacefully, but hopefully, that would be someone else's problem if it came down to it.

"Oh, this thing?" he said, nodding down to his arm. "Doc says ill be right as rain after some time in the bacta tank," he said. She still seemed out of it, swaying slightly in the cot. "Also says you will be alright once your system has time to process to high levels of sedatives," he said, sitting forward in the chair slightly.

"You need anything?" asked. She was the only one, besides himself, who had been injured. "We will walk back tomorrow in the morning," he added.

It was as if the events raced through her mind again, but it took a little while until everything was back into place and making sense again. His words were indeed reassuring, yet she wasn't exactly sure what camp he meant. The rebel camp? The one at the main village? What he said last though offered the much needed clarity.

"Rest, I guess" and water, but that was already next to her cot and she was fairly sure that this time, it wasn't poisoned. Still, another thought crossed her mind: Chances were the toxins would wear off faster if she'd get the blood flowing - at least in theory.

"Could you help me up? I'll try a little stroll before turning in for the night I guess. Enjoying the freshnforrst air one last time" she softly asked him, however immediately realizing how stupid her request was. "No...oh damn nevermind. You absolutely shouldn't try to help and let that injury of yours heal" she shook her head briefly before massaging her temples. She wasn't fully there yet.

She still wanted that walk and so she edged closer to the cot's rim before she placed her feet down, however immediately regretting the decision as her vision just faded to black and she landed on the side, fortunately still on the bed, with a little thud.

He raised an eyebrow at her asking to get out of bed. "I really don't think that's a good idea," he said unevenly. He couldn't order her to rest, but it was the best option.

She quickly disregarded the idea, citing his injury. He shook his head with a chuckle. A moment later, she tried to get out of bed herself and collapsed back into sleep. "Yes..." he said, trailing off. "We should let my wound heal," he said, shaking his head again before standing.

He checked in on the rest of his soldiers, making small talk, asking about their families, and showing he cared. They had all survived their first of hopefully many missions together. He had made mistakes today, mistakes he vowed not to make again. He would be a better leader for these soldiers.

For now, he busied himself with several other tasks. He was tired, but the work of an officer was never finished.
