DESCRIPTION
The E-Web heavy repeating blaster is a fearsome weapon originally fielded by the Galactic Empire during the Galactic Civil War. One of the most powerful infantry weapons in the Empire's considerable arsenal, the E-Web was primarily used as a defensive weapon, with its immobile nature and extraordinary rate of fire making it well suited for use in fixed fortifications, although they were also deployed in the field by special infantry teams.

E-Webs are large, heavy weapons, with merely the cannon itself measuring 2 meters in length and weighing in at 38 kilograms. This does not include the portable generator which is often paired with it, which provides the weapon with an essentially unlimited magazine. E-Webs are crew-served weapons, requiring at least 2 sentients to run normally, including a gunner who operates the cannon itself, and a generator technician who monitors the external power supply, ensuring a steady energy feed and regulating the unit to prevent overload. E-Webs are equipped with a sophisticated targeting scope, which enables low-light thermal imaging and compensates somewhat for the weapon's heavy recoil, making them more accurate weapons than one might reasonably expect. They are also equipped with an integrated comlink, meant to allow defensive emplacements to coordinate overlapping fields of fire.

Due to their weight, power requirements and exceptional recoil impulse, E-Webs must be mounted on a special tripod in order to be fired in anything like a controllable manner. The E-Web and heavy repeaters like it are meant to be tethered to an external power supply, and though they do retain enough residual power and blaster gas in their system for a few shots after being disconnected, their rate of fire quickly consumes this reserve.

In combat, E-Webs are almost exclusively deployed in pre-prepared positions, although special combat engineer teams have been known to be able to fully deploy an E-Web in only a few seconds. Nevertheless, moving an E-Web to a new position requires at least 4 individuals, or 2 if they are exceptionally large and strong, such as a Wookiee or other, similarly powerful species. In either case, setting up an E-Web requires at least 1 posting round before firing can commence.

Fortified positions are preferable for setting up an E-Web. Due to the high energy requirements of the weapon, the external generator which runs it is exceptionally volatile, and is vulnerable to enemy fire; a direct hit on an E-Web generator will detonate it, destroying everything within a 5 meter radius. Due to this, E-Web generators are usually well protected by earthworks, sandbags or other fortifications, if defenders have the time to set them up.

E-Webs, though they were originally used by the Galactic Empire, have continued to see widespread use with various factions into the present day. They are mostly employed by governments and large factions, as Galactic law has made it very difficult for individuals to own heavy repeaters, but criminals have been known to use them as well.

LEGALITY
Illegal. On most civilized planets, ownership of such powerful weapons as the E-Web is heavily regulated, requiring extensive licensing and registration; the average civilian simply cannot get their hands on one without serious effort or serious credits. They are more common in military service, or in the hands of criminals.

INTENT
To create a standard heavy repeating blaster.

RESTRICTIONS
E-Web heavy repeating blasters are powerful weapons, and are not to be used in any sort of PvP engagement.
