Thank **** for the existence of a new story vetting team for the future canon of this franchise, let's just hope they're not incompetent going forward.

Here's the thing about Jar Jar Binks and the Gungans as a whole, I don't think they're a bad looking species, I just think they should have been live action instead of completely computer generated. Their personalities and the aesthetics of their tools, clothing, weapons and world however, are admittedly not Star Wars at all, but if you take it all away and if you simply showed me a live action concept of that species, I'd probably be okay with it's inclusion in the Star Wars aesthetic.

The execution of it though, was ****ing nonsense, but they could've had that animalistic familiarity to them that all of the OT species had.

I see the Story Group as being tasked with making sure things don't conflict with the films, and that those non-film stories don't conflict with each other. I don't foresee them having any say or vetting power over the film, except if they need to point out inconsistencies or things that aren't canon. It may all be one unified canon, but we know that films will always be top dog. They're not going to have a group of middle managers having their hands all over the movies.

Gungan eyes though?

****ing awful, but everything else about their design would be perfectly acceptable to me as a background species in the Star Wars universe.
