Everything here is WIP, and will most likely change drastically as we learn more about the new TL. It is for me to outline the basics of characters.

AN INTERVIEW WITH OLMAN RAYE​

WHO IS
THIS GUY?​

Few are born as rich and successful. However unlikely it seems, even Olman Raye is not an exception. The Nabooian human was born into a family of average life. His parents owned a droid repair shop on the planet. The now businessman already drew attention to himself during his elementary school years. He was building Ojomian onion shooting canons out of spare parts found laying around, and was sketching plans of expeditions to the unknown regions in his textbooks.

It was no surprise to anyone that later he applied for an engineering degree in the Coruscant University. Finishing with spectacular grades he first joined his mother as an assistant. His ambitions were much greater, however. Raye says that to get this far in such few years, he needed determination, tenacity and, of course, money. And he soon learned that the first two would often substitute the last one. Not once during the first years he came close to bankruptcy, in a way that he could have lost everything. His dedication for quality, and seeing problems smaller than they actually were, forced him to adopt unique way to handle his business.

Interviewer: Olman, thank you for joining us today.

Olman: Thank you for having me.

Interviewer: In recent years you have managed to build something amazing, considering what you had to begin working with. People are only now recognizing and taking note of RayeTech Industries, and together with it of you. What I'm curious about first of all is, how does a freshly graduated engineer become the executive officer and owner of a company like RayeTech?

Olman: Through hard work and determination. It was not an easy path to get here, it helped that I did not think otherwise to begin with. Looking back now, it actually looks more unbelievable than it did 7 years ago.

Interviewer: But you did not have any experience in running a business, right? I would guess that originally you were planning to work for a company similar to what you own now.

Olman: I have helped my mother with some managerial and executive tasks when I was working with her, so I had a basic understanding of what's what. But, yes, basically I had to learn a lot as I went along. And about my original plans, I actually began thinking about establishing RayeTech when I got into considering my options as an engineer. I have to also add that my degree helped me immensely so far, so I wouldn't say that it was a waste of time. Quite on the contrary.

Interviewer: RayeTech has been earning more and more recognition for the high quality standards it forces on itself. Is this something that was influenced by your engineering knowledge, or you found an unexploited market gap?

Olman: I think it is hard to find any market that is not already being taken care of in the galaxy. And yet, people always appreciate quality. I certainly didn't want RayeTech to become just an other weapons manufacturer.

Interviewer: Some say that companies like yours are a necessary evil to our galaxy. You profit from wars, them being local, or even galaxy scaled. Do you support such violent acts in the galaxy? In the end, your livelihood depends on them.

Olman: By support, I'm guessing you mean how I feel about those, not if I actively play a role in them.

Interviewer: Well, do you?

Olman: Confrontations are going to happen everywhere in the galaxy. The most one can do is to be prepared. That is why we originally introduced the PLY blasters to the commercial market, so it is available for everyone. I've never thought about us as being a necessary evil, but I might have to agree with that. If I don't have power to stop wars from happening, I can make sure they are ended as quickly as possible, by providing the right tools.

Interviewer: I appreciate your honesty. So what future projects can we look forward to, or is there anything interesting you're getting into?

Olman: We are very exited about the PLY-03's launch which is happening next week. As both previous versions, this will also be commercially available, and we already have a few security firms on Coruscant contacting us for day one deliveries. It will be very exiting for us, and we cannot wait to hear the feedback. As for the far future, who knows? We have our strategy, we are nicely in schedule to meet all our goals for this fiscal year. I'm very happy how things are going.

Railgux's story started on Malastare, though he spent only a few months on the planet. Dakhekwe Wowari and his wife were planning to escape from their poverty, wishing for a better life, which they hoped to find somewhere else in the galaxy. This drove them to sneak up on a freighter that was headed off Malastare, to a yet unknown destination. Railgux was only 5 months old at the time.
Once the freighter stopped, and they were discovered, the captain of the ship was not at all hospitable with them. They were quickly thrown off the ship, without any knowledge of the place they had to call home from now on. They wandered the streets for hours, trying get information from people, until a Rodian decided to help them out, and told them to follow him. They were soon standing in the hall of a castle, a Hutt laying in front of them, and that was when they learned the name of the planet they were stuck on; Nar Shaddaa. The Hutt's offer was simple, Dakhekwe would work for him, doing his dirty work, in return they would be housed, and they could manage to feed the baby. Railgux's father without hesitation took the offer, as even a small amount of money would mean his family's survival.

Railgux had little understanding of what his father did. He only knew that he worked hard, got home late, even often worked at night. Dakhekwe wanted to keep his criminal and personal life separate. For this he had to do his job well, this way nobody would try to go after his family.
The block they lived at could have hardly been called anything more then a slum. The already poor law enforcement of the planet did not have any power in those parts, the streets were ruled by the enforcers and grunts of the Hutt families. This life was natural to Railgux, he could not imagine any other way to live, and eventually learned his way around the streets.
Without any official schooling, Railgux learned everything through experience. He would bring home what he could find on the streets, ranging from droid parts, to broken down speeder pieces. He immensely enjoyed taking them apart, then failed to put them together most of the time. This curiosity of his later proved to be useful in his life.

Railgux's first involvement with crime came at his fourteenth year. He and a group of other kids wanted to take revenge on a restaurant owner, who threw them out of his place a day prior. At night they managed to get in the restaurant, and brake many things there. They were unlucky enough to run into a group of Hutt enforcers, to whom the block belonged. They were soon brought in front of the Hutt, and it turned out he was the same who also employed his father. They were offered a way to avoid punishment; they were going to be in his services, and do what they are asked of for free.
None of the kids were very keen on taking any kind of punishment, so they all agreed to the offer, and thus Railgux began his life as servant of a Hutt.

[/beebox2]As the years passed the Hutt saw that the Dugs turned out to be very useful for him. They were strong, and dedicated, followed orders, and almost seemed to enjoy what they did. And Railgux certainly did. He worked many jobs for the Hutt, joining many gangs. For a time he was ordered to the garage, for maintenance and repair duties.
This was his opportunity to truly learn about what he felt most passionate about; spaceships. The head of engineering, a Gran, thought him as much as he could, while Railgux soaked up information like a sponge. He was thought how to operate a spaceship, though only on a theoretical level, and he quickly knew the ins and outs of most engines there.

At the age of 22 he was assigned a more important, and at the same time more dangerous, job. To become the enforcer of the Hutt, and now he would even get payed. He rose to the same rank as his father started off with. He felt proud, and set his mind on proving himself.
Soon followed his first real participation in a gunfight. A disagreement about territorial claims ended in a bloody engagement between gangs of two Hutts. From then on Railgux partake in his share of fights, but he could never understand how some of his partners could actually enjoy it. Fear was always present in his heart during combat, and it was hard for him to imagine this would change anytime soon.

For three years Railgux had been endangering his life this way, just because a Hutt wished him to. He earned an average amount of money, and he still lived together with his parents.
At the end of his third year, his life ended as an enforcer, when he was offered a new job; being part of a spaceship's crew, running missions for the Hutt. The Ship was called the Speedy Wampa.

[/beebox2]The crew consisted of 5 members, the Rodian captain of the ship, Railgux, and 3 more muscles. Railgux came aboard to be an engineer for the crew, keeping the ship running, and to be the co-pilot of the captain. They were highly successful together, running and overseeing smuggling operations, boarding other ships for loot, and doing heists in different parts of the galaxy.
It was a great opportunity for Railgux to learn more about the world, and to hone his skills as a pilot, engineer and enforcer.
However he had a hard time fitting in with the crew. As the newest member he was often the target of pranks, and mean comments. He became called the 'little one' quickly by the crew, a name Railgux did not like. He knew he worked hard to get where he is, but no one was willing to acknowledge that.

Their last mission together was also a raiding mission. They were going to board a transport ship, where they had to retrieve an item called the 'Azure Ruby'. His Hutt master wished to add it to his collection.
Their plan was simple. Using the Little One, he would get on board the ship while it was still stationed at it's destination on one of the Outer Rim planets, and stay hidden until the ship began its journey. Once there, his mission was to sabotage the hyperdrive, making the ship immobile, and an easier target for the Wampa to track it down.

The mission went all as planned. Hiding behind a set of crates until he's time was up, Railgux managed to get into the engine bay, neutralizing a few of the ship's crew in the process. When the hyperdrives were off, and the transport was forced to its sub-lightspeed, the boarding could begin. It was easy to take over the ship, as it was not outfitted for combat. However they had a harder time finding the loot they were after. By their surprise, it was not located in the cargo hold, or a locked safe; they found the Azure Ruby in one of the passenger cabins. The Ruby turned out to be a female Chiss.

[/beebox2]Once back on board the Wampa, the crew decided to take a rest after the engagement, and 'awarded' the Little One with taking first watch of the prisoner. For an hour they were sitting in silence, the Chiss chained to the hull, while Railgux was sitting on a crate, tinkering with his blaster. Then as if the Chiss got bored, she started talking to the Dug. She told him she heard the others call him 'little one', and that they disrespect him. After some conversation she made an offer, let her go and she will help him take over the ship, and Railgux can become the captain.

Captain Wowari, it had a nice ring to it. They soon made a deal, Railgux had enough grudge against his crew members that he had no problem seeing them dead. They were quick and efficient. Locking the door of the crew cabin they could deal with the one sleeping on the couch in the lounge. Then all it took was two blaster fires to kill the other two in the now unlocked cabin. That left only the captain, who was not in his chamber, but on the bridge, blaster in hand. By telling him that the Chiss was the one causing the shots to be fired, the captain lowered his guard, which allowed Railgux to jump on him and finish the take over.

When both the Dug and the Chiss was standing on the bridge, Railgux turned his blaster on the her, ordering her to return to the passenger cabin. He was not stupid, he knew that he would not live a long life if the 'Azure Ruby' would disappear. Locking the door of the cabin, Railgux was alone in the pilots chair. It would only take a few hours to get back on Nar Shaddaa. He will have a long night. He has to collect the bodies in a crate, then dump them off somewhere on the planet. Then he has to present the Chiss to his Hutt boss.

Skills

Railgux is a good pilot and spaceship engineer, and a decent shot. He can speak Huttese and Basic.

Personality

Railgux is a hardened Dug, who was surrounded by criminals from a very young age. For him it seems impossible living in a normal society.

He always faced problems when it came to gaining respect and authority. Due to his size he's often looked down on, which he tries to compensate for by being loud, and insulting. He's goal is to gain renown, fame and power, so nobody would talk down to him again.

When I told him he looks like one, I believe he took it as a compliment. At least he did not try to rip my arms off. Due to his build he passed all strength test with flying colors, but he struggles more on tests regarding speed. He's reflexes make up for this weakness. Dan'tey is fit for service, examinations passed. Psychological After my interview with Donic, I can safely say that he is a perfect candidate for leading Black Team. He has a strong feeling of responsibility as a parent toward his daughter, which also enhances his ability of leading a team. His morals are aligned with the views of C.S.A.T.U. He's loyalty is unquestionable. As far as I could gather, he would do anything to ensure the safety of his family and partners. Loosing his wife had a high toll on his personality, and he is scared to loose anybody else close to him. This might result with him pushing away people who are trying to get close, or going too far to save his people. This is something to keep a look out for.
